  1. Haha, bro, I don't even want to know. That was just one of those days that my putter got hot.
  2. Good luck man. I miss my high school golf days. I'm only 21, but I think those were the best times I have ever had.
  3. Congrats! But just over 6000 yards from the tips? Short course.
  4. I'm glad to see Tiger lay it to him yet again. Not only because I am a big Tiger fan, but the fact that Rory talks the smack and cannot back it up. On another note, Tiger played extremely solid today. His yardages looked spot on for the most part. Nothing fancy with the putter because he didn't really need to after about the 6th hole. I'm excited to see what happens next week in Oklahoma.
  5. Congrats on the win. It always feels good to get a "W" in individual stroke play. Haha, yeah I remember my first tournament win. I was playing on the Chrysler Vince Gill Junior Tour and the event was at Beaver Brook Country Club here in Knoxville, TN. I woke up feeling like complete crap and my shoulder was hurting so bad I nearly WD because of the pain. Luckily I didn't because I went on to my first sub par round on 18 and first victory with a 67.
  6. 1. Only natural colored tees. 2. Golf ball in right pocket. 3. Tees in right pocket. 4. Glove in left rear pocket. 5. Remove glove after every shot.
  7. Gah I can't stand disrespectful people like that. Whether it is Tiger Woods or the weekend duffer doesn't matter. We all play this game for the enjoyment. Some people may not have the most ability and/or able to practice as much as others. With that being said, I would have told him to eat one. You should play the golf equipment that you want to play. You are the only one that can and should decide what works for you.
  8. 391. 557 yard Par 5. Not much wind and the hole was relatively flat until about 100 yards from the green.
  9. Wow, that is extremely disrespectful if you do not know the guy, which it seems you didn't since he was in the group behind you. I would have told him where he could stick his buddies shaft for a comment like that.
  10. I always like to use, "Whoa, dude I heard your thong snap all the way over here" whenever someone I'm playing with leaves a putt short. I HATE when I hit a bad shot to hear someone say "Uh-oh."
  11. Practice my short game much more. I seriously am one of the worst putters ever. I can generally play some great sand shots, chips, pitches, etc. Whenever I get the flat stick in my hands is when everything falls apart. I just don't understand. My handicap right now is a 2.2 and I guarantee that it isn't less than .5 because of my putting. Become more consistent I generally shoot mid-low 70's everwhere, but every now and then an upper 70's to an 80 will sneak in there and mess me up. Confidence I have none of this. Mainly because of my putter. Build my confidence level with the series of tournaments I am about to start playing in so that walking onto my schools golf team will be a breeze when I finish my Co-op. I have just a few weak areas in my game that I can recognize. It's frustrating because I know if I can take care of those then I know I can compete with just about anyone.
  12. I putt everything out. The guys I generally play with make fun of me (sorta) for never taking mulligans and always putting out even if they say, "it's good." That's just how I am. The rules are there for a reason and the game of golf is based upon honor and integrity as a person.
  13. As can be seen by my signature, I lean towards Titleist. I feel like a Titleist rep when I go play since literally everything in my bag and including my bag is Titleist. I believe that their drivers have incredible feel and a ton of distance. Titleist irons have always seemed to me to be geared more towards a lower handicap player, and again, I think they have an amazing feel. I've had my wedges for about 2.5 years now and will only upgrade to a newer model. IMO, can't beat the quality of a Scotty Cameron putter. The ProV1 spins too much for me so naturally the ProV1x is what I play. Even the glove of choice is a Titleist because of the super soft and durable leather with no annoying "pad" in the middle of the palm. Now I just need to get Titleist to sponsor me.....
  14. Probably my little 3/4 gap wedge from around 105 yards that comes in with about a 5 yard draw, hits just shy of the pin, and stops on the second bounce for a 2-3 foot birdie putt.... I can't miss with that shot....
  15. Titleist 983K, and my Ping some whenever I get the shaft replaced from where it snapped in my wreck.
  16. Who is Rotella?
  17. I do that. I play the ProV1x and use the seam line around the ball. Still, no matter how much practice, how much focus, nothing seems to fall for me. I really don't want to go see someone, just because I've had only one lesson, and didn't like the way it destroyed my swing, so I quit that. Plus, I'm too stubborn to listen to anyones advice most of the time. But, if I have to go see someone, then I guess that's what I'll have to do.
  18. I'd say my best of this past week came yesterday. I ripped a drive on my home course and had 157 into a par 5. It was in the left rough though, but I had some adrenaline pumping because I had just hit the flagstick with my wedge approach on the hole before. I pulled a 9-iron and hit it perfectly. It landed soft about 8 ft from the pin. Unfortunately, I cannot putt as I described in my other thread, so I made birdie.
  19. Reality show? November? Now that'll be a sweet birthday gift.
  20. I don't know what it is, but I absolutely cannot putt. It seems as though I can't get anything other than a tap in to fall in. Like the past week I have played every day. My worst round was 74, and my lowest a 71. This is all with 33-35 putts a round. Is there anything online that might be able to help me, or should I go see someone? I'm desperate to try about anything, cause my college tryouts are in less than a month, and I need to putt better.
  21. Natalie Gulbis, huh? Sounds good to me. I'll waste as much time needed discussing her. Haha.
  22. Hey whats up. New guy to the forum. I'm from East TN. I play a lot of golf. I started playing 4 years ago this summer, and have my handicap down to roughly a 1-2. Hopefully I can learn some more things on this forum to get that handicap even lower. Dustin
