  1. http://thesandtrap.com/columns/the_n...es_of_the_pros According to that article, Tiger is actually a +8.x handicap. lamebums is right. Usually something in the +3.x handicap region to have some success and make some money.
  2. Holy Hell man, you RACKED UP like crazy.
  3. That's actually a pretty good starting point.
  4. Fitness is something I am really getting into this offseason. My main motivation is a Spring Break cruise in 3 months. My other motivation is overall fitness/strength/endurance for golf. I dropped my handicap from 2.5~3.0 down to 0.0 this summer. I'm going to be playing a lot of tournaments and practicing a TON this next year because I want golf to be a career. I am going to interview with a country club tomorrow looking for a job, and then ultimately get started on the PGA program. !!!! Disclaimer: I'm not an expert and I don't claim to be !!! As far as working out, you definitely want to be lifting weights. Light weight or heavy weight is mainly irrelevant as in both cases you want to stretch a lot to maintain flexibility. If you are just starting then just take it slow, keep the weight a bit lighter, and work on form. Good form is priority as strength will increase regardless since you are just starting. Cardio also depends on your goals. Do you want to lose weight? If you want to lose weight then you need to be running 30-45 minutes per session. Don't worry about running x.x miles. You should focus on keeping your heart rate up over a period of time. The food you eat is also extremely important. If you eat like a slob then working out and running are pretty pointless as it will affect your results. Pastas, whole wheat bread, chicken, tuna, lean beef, fish, fruits, vegetables, milk, water, etc. are what you want to eat. Get rid of sodas and fast foods.
  5. Information on the format can be found here.....
  6. Try this website: www.golfnow.com That place gives deals on a few golf courses in the Nashville area. As far as nice golf courses.... Harpeth Hills Belle Meade Country Club Bluegrass Yacht & Country Club Vanderbilt Legends Club Hillwood Country Club I've never actually played any of these courses, but I have fraternity brothers from the area that have played and worked at a few of them.
  7. I'm assuming that it's the free "Pick 'em" style league that we will be using? *edit* And I just caught the "free" part in your post. DOH! My apologies. I'm stuck here bored at work "supervising" contractors that are installing some ductwork.
  8. That actually doesn't make sense at all. Driver and putter are on two completely opposite ends of the spectrum for golf. Driver is a club to set yourself for a closer approach to the green. Ideally, anyways. Putter is a scoring club that most golfers use for 50% of their strokes in a round. It's basically a must. But then again I have putter with some success using a 2-iron before.
  9. Hahahahaha....
  10. I racked up... From mom: Skycaddie SG3 Titleist ProV1x - Dozen Titleist Gloves - 3 Nike SP6 Shoes - White/Black 2 Bottle Liquor Dispensor From Dad: Nike SV Tour Wedges - 52*, 56*, 60* Nike One Black - Dozen From Aunt: The Office: Season 3 American Eagle Gift Card
  11. I got this from another forum and cracked up when I read it....... To All My Democrat Friends: (and I use that term VERY loosely) Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wish recipient. To My Republican Friends: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
  12. That's pretty sweet.
  13. Shot a 76 yesterday. First time that I've picked a club up in a couple weeks. I can't really complain. The first two holes were ugly and I ended shooting +4, 40, on the front 9. I had three putts lip out on that 9. The back was much better. Two birdies and a double bogey. The double was due to a poor pitch shot that I dumped into a dead lie.
  14. A lot of the distance has to do with the thinner air. I think it was discussed that the shots were playing roughly 2 clubs shorter throughout. It didn't seem like a super tough course to me either, but then again, they are all playing the same course. It's not like anyone had an advantage.
  15. As it has been discussed in this thread, as well as others, Rory is just a temperamental, immature, and classless jerk that just happens to have the game to compete on the PGA Tour in most cases. This just adds to his track record.
  16. That list is disgusting. Those salaries/earnings/endorsement figures make me want to cry.....
  17. Well, luckily I my co-op is almost over and I have ample time to surf the internet here at work. While browsing, I found this thread over on Brighthand which seems to have solved my problem...... http://forum.brighthand.com/showthread.php?t=230802
  18. Haha, touche'. But, I will be finishing my Internship and returning to school in January for this coming semester. While my car does not have wifi, the campus has wireless hotspots nearly everywhere. All buildings that I have classes, the University Center, the South Patio (basically a common area that people hang out between classes), my fraternity house, and numerous other locations have wireless access. The way to connect to it is to open IE and enter my username/password and I am connected as long as I don't leave its range. My question is that if I don't have Verizon's specific "internet package," will I be able to access internet with one of these wireless cards?
  19. Okay, I'm hoping that I am over-analyzing all of this and it is just as simple as I would assume it to be. I have a Palm Treo 700w on the way that I ordered. My service is with Verizon and I know I can pay extra per month to get internet access, but I'm pretty sure that I won't use it enough to justify the $20/$30/$40 per month, or whatever it costs, initially to decide if I use it enough or not. So, my question is, with one of these wireless SD cards to pick up on a wireless signal, would I be able to use it to access the internet instead of paying for Verizon's service? Or would I still have to pay Verizon to actually have "internet capability" on the phone? Example of said SD Card.... Phone I am getting....
  20. MB's? I had the CB's. I hated the MB's when I hit them.
  21. If your irons' finish has been stripped off exposing raw steel, then yes. Otherwise, the only thing it will do is get some "rust residue" onto the surface of your other irons that will wipe away.
  22. I'm a big fan of the Nike Forged Blades. I just got them about a month ago and have only played about 3 times in the past 6 weeks. They seem to be very forgiving for blades, IMO. I hit the 4 iron last week and mishit the hell out of it. I mean way out on the toe and I only lost around 10-12 yards. They are, however, weaker lofts than my previous irons (Titleist 695 CB's) which is taking a little to adjust to.
  23. Yeah, all the while Tiger was shooting something stupid out there as well. Luckily it is a roasty 37* here in East Tennessee.
  24. I never said that I did not appreciate your point of view. You have a right to post your opinion and I have the right to open discussion on that opinion given the nature of this website. However, I don't really appreicate the way you came off towards this guy trying to make him feel like an idiot because of the equipment he wants to use. Also, don't take anything I say personally. It is not meant that way in any means.
  25. [QUOTE=JaY_B;93840]But as i think Fiji said, his mate hits it pure 75% of the time and then assumes it justifies blades, [QUOTE] I didn't assume it justifies blades, nor does he assume that. I was just simply stating that even someone that has just taken up the game and barely practices can in fact hit solid shots with a muscleback. I find it hard to believe that someone that practices more wouldn't be able to increase his percentage of solid shots.
