I carry 2-3 sleeves in my bag.

They are beach sand traps, filled with packed down, rock hard beach sand. They never play as bunkers, and don't play anything like bunkers. It's like pitching on the beach at low tide, shells and all.

What? No Sunday Scotch? Our club has a mixed event on Sunday afternoons, complete with a divorce lawyer in the mixed grill afterwards.

What clubs do you rotate in and out of your bag?
CProsser replied to ApocG10's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I rotate an 18 degree hybrid and 5 wood depending on conditions. I also have a 21 degree that will make it in the bag when I pull the 3 iron. Haven't pulled the gap wedge out of storage yet this year. I like knocking down and or dialing back my pitching wedge. -
The one thing I can't go without these days is my Kleen Kanteen insulated beverage bottle, made of stainless steel. I just fill it up with ice, add water and the ice stays well beyond my round. I once made a juniper based beverage before a round, forgot it in my trunk and left it overnight. It still had a huge chunk of ice in it the next day. I swear by that thing.

Cameron is already out. In it's place is the Taylor Made Spider Ghost heel shafted in 34". I'm dropping bomb after bomb after the switch.

Got fitted...Lie angle...swing speed...I'm confused
CProsser replied to BrokeLoser's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I hear FUGators sentiment, sometimes it's futile to try and fit a person that has yet to hammer out a singular swing. On the other hand, you don't want to turn someone away from the game. At the end of the day, Club Fitters should have a pretty good idea what a person needs before they are loose on the Trackman. Asking questions like "How many rounds do you play a month?" and "What's your typical miss?" are essential to open a fitting session. If you hear answers similar to "I'm going out this Saturday with my boss and I need to make some birdies!" or "I am in sales and we have a scramble this Monday, Ive never played before" you know what you have right there... Ansr Forged 3-P red dot, True Temper Tour Issue, hard stepped once. In all seriousness, you will at least be able to get some sort of idea what the poor bloke needs in terms of head and shaft composition. That will satisfy most folks. -

95 with a driver I assume... So you went in cold and pured it at 95? If you can effectively repeat your swing it may only take 5 min. if your loose. I have fit players in 10 swings, and I have tried to fit hacks over the course of 4 hours. True. -
Tried these weapons for a bit or so back in 2007. I eventually went with the 695CB due to a bit better feel for my swing. At that time I was playing 5-6 times a week, and practiced every day. I just didn't like the feel of the club for what it's worth.

What do you use hybrids in replace of?
CProsser replied to titleistfan2016's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I have an 18 degree that has replaced my deuce, and a 21 degree that goes in and out of the bag to replace my 3 iron. Same as above..... -
10+ If I were on the moon, it would look something like that! Extra points for the single malt in the bag.

Do you take off your glove for chipping/putting
CProsser replied to jfrain2004's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I take the glove off whenever I have a shot that requires more feel. Basically, it's from less than 75 yds because my 60 degree wedge goes about 80 yds. I do it because I think it'll help me with less than full swing shots. Just my opinion. -
One degree isn't going to matter that much. If I were in the same position, I would go with 52, 56, & 60 and be done with it. 6 degrees between pitch and gap is no big deal. Last year I gamed Vokey 200 series 52 degree, and a 60, it worked out just fine. Go to the range and learn how to knock it down with all of your wedges, and verify that on the course. If you do that you have 8 reliable shots of varying distance. That's how you score. What I would stay away from is bending my PW and creating a larger gap between 9 and P. Don't listen to the guys saying stay away from a 60. It's easy to hit and will become your best friend out of the rough around the greens by June if you PRACTICE!

I have a tendency to come over the top in my transition from backswing to downswing. This year I started taking the club a little outside my previous path on the backswing, and shortening my backswing altogether, making it easier to drop the club into my slot and coming into the ball on a more shallow angle. The result is a more powerful, controlled shot with a little more distance and accuracy. The frustrating part is that I get away from that if things start going bad on the course. Damn, I wish I could just stay on the practice range until I didn't have to think about it! LOL

Well I have been playing for over thirty years, been as low as a +1 and never had a hole in one. I have had the pleasure of listening to Mr. Havacamp talk about his 14 aces ad nauseum. Odd, but I have only had several free drinks because my playing partner scored an ace and brought us other three guys out for beers afterword. Never have I sat in the 19th hole and had a drink bought for just being there when Mr. or Mrs. Ace came in. That said, when I get my first, everyone in the clubhouse gets a beer or a glass of wine on me.

I find that grip size has different effects on different people. Grab a lesson. It'll do wonders.

Taylor and the other manufactures implore a minimum price, and the price is the same in Arizona as it is in New Hampshire. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Poor etiquette is my biggest pet peeve by far. I don't need someone to follow the good book of golf, but use some common sense out there. If you miss your 6 footer and pick it up, let me put out before trying that putt again. I don't mind slow play, it's good training for tournaments and mental strength.

1) Fred Couples -18 The same rooting interest every year for the last 20. Who wouldn't want to see Freddie Boom Boom win one more time?

I need help choosing new irons
CProsser replied to JuicePGA's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Go hit some clubs. Lots and lots of clubs.... Hit every 6 iron you can, and keep in mind that the standard lie angle varies amongst manufactures. Then, when you have it narrowed down to 3 irons, ask a pro or get a complete fitting. Good luck to you. -
Why would they invite a woman? It's a Men's club plain and simple.
