  2. I switched to a Ping G15 13.5 degree driver and have never looked back.
  3. http://www.westendgc.co.uk
  4. Ahhh, the dance of the Zulu Warrior, I remember it well. We we not allowed to run round a field though, only round a table at the bar.
  5. I love 14 ways and would not be without one. Its personal preference. My own advice thou would be to go either 6 or 14. I have an 11 way bag once and what a faff that was.
  6. Standards to me are important. I have no problem with the fact that if you want to wear jeans and a T-shirt on the course you can, just do it at a club that allows this standard of clothing. Don't bellyache that you cant play a top course because they ask you to put trousers and a polo shirt on. My new club wont even allow jeans in the bar let alone on the course which is fine by me. If I am that desparate for a beer when wearing jeans I will go to the pub or get changed. Simples.
  7. I do like reading them but in a UK golf magazine we have here within 10 pages there were 3 pro's all talking about their way (the only way) to hit approach shots. Can you guess all were differrent.
  8. I can't wear rings when I play but have no problem wearing a watch, especially as I just got a Garmin S1.
  9. I wear one of those all the time but then quite a lot of people do here in Yorkshire.
  10. Might be differrent here in the UK. Always hats off, always shake hands, never seen it not done on the 18th except at the lowest of the low muni course. Oh, and always hats off in the clubhouse.
  11. Not sure about over your side of the pond but here in the UK Cobra have just released the Long Tom 2 wood.
  12. Maybe I am not good enough to see any gains but the 3W I tested went less distance than my Adams. The 3 hybrid was about the same as my current Adams 3h. They certainly felt hotter off the face but I could see no point in changing clubs for me.
  13. Thats the quote of the month for me, well said Sir. I am a short hitter average 220 off the tee and there is a differrence on the longer holes of hitting a 3 hybrid or an 8 iron into a green. I suppose it all depends on what you want out of this game and how much you are going to work on getting it. I would love to be hitting 280 yard drives but realistically I have only been playing for 2 years, have a handicap of 20, am the wrong side of 40 and have limited practise time. I have found it more beneficial rather than working on driver distance to work on hybrid/long iron/fairway wood distance and accuracy to get me a decent second shot arsenal. Once I got better at this and learned to chip my scores started dropping.
  14. I was always told by one of my first golf partners where to stand when he was playing, what to say etc. So for instance I would never say good shot to someone I was playing with (Unless they holed it) because it might not have been a good shot for them. I think the scandanavians have it right in that they must have sat a etiqete/rules test before they get to play opn a course. My pet peeve is the opposite to noisy playing partners, I play last week with a guy who said hello on the first tee and goodbye on the last green and nothing in-between, thats fine but he was the one who asked if he could join us for some company.
  15. John Letters (UK) make a 2 Hybrid (16 degree). Almost impossible for me to hit apart from off the tee. It lives in the spare bedroom and not my bag. Definately one for a better player than me. I love my 60 degree wedge, now that thing does live in my bag.
