I'll take Mallory and you can have Emily. Not that I would toss Emily out... but man... Mallory just does it for me.

Yeah it was cool. Kinda weird for me with nothing on the line. I also am in another league with about 16 people in it. We all throw some $$$$ at the beginning and have payouts for each segment winner, and of course end of the year winner. I took home about $375 from that (1st place for the year and a 1st place for the spring session)... not bad for a $75 entry. The sand trap league was cool... but with nothing on the line.... meh.

I don't believe in jinxes Considering there was 40 entrants in this "league"... I'm quite happy with 2nd place for the year.

Do you guys prefer to walk or ride 18 holes?
Johnny1putt replied to Mr Smell Good's topic in Golf Talk
I am kinda surprised no one mentioned these factors. And it's cart for me... always. 1. The convenience factors...drink holders, scorecard/pencil right on the steering wheel...basket to hold towels, head covers, etc. 2. Probably the biggest reason I take cart only. The BS factor. I love to play fast. Me and my buddy will play 18 in about 2.5 hours and sometimes less. The BS factor is the ability to laugh, bust each others balls, etc... while in the cart. Walkers seem to be together on the tee box and sometimes walking together to their balls. But if one is way left and the other on the right... they split up. I've seen walkers on par 5 barely be together. I find the comeraderie of being in a cart way more fun. 3. Carts are faster. Don't give me the BS that walkers play just as fast. Can they? Perhaps. But I've yet to see 2 walker come thru us and yet we play thru people all the time. If we each bust a drive 230-250 yards out there... I can guarantee you my cart gets out there WAY faster than you walking. We play ready golf... we don't "cart hang". In other words.. if my ball is 230 out in the right rough... my buddy drops me.. goes to his ball that is 240 in the left center of the fairway. By the time I hit...I walk to where he is at and boom.. on our way. -

I should come see you again for some tweaking. My driver game is shaky again and my bunker play is atrocious!!!!

OK, so the "old school' thought is that blades make it easier to work the ball. Nothing new there. Here's my question/thoughts. If we now know (via Trackman) that the difference between the path of the clubhead and the angle of the face is what creates the ballflight.... is it logical to say that the "old school" thought is untrue? In other words.... if I have for example.. a Mizuno MP33 7 iron in my hands...and my path is coming from 3 degrees inside the target line (or 3 degrees right of target) and the face angle is 2 degrees out... that should create a slight draw. Correct? Same path, face angle, etc... but a Mizuno game improvement iron this time (JPX 800) which is supposedly harder to "work"... does this produce the same draw? I guess the bottom line is I really want to know am I hampering my ability to draw/fade on command with a GI iron? Or is that hogwash? I know it's a little harder to flight the ball down due to the CG being lower... but I am referring to left/right movement. Hope this makes sense & I explained it correctly

I bought about 10 dozen or so of those in the spring/early summer from budgetgolf.com. I think I got them a little cheaper maybe $12 a dozen. Found a free shipping code which made it an even better deal. Great ball... almost impossible to find a "blemish". -

My educated opinion is this: It' mostly a technique problem.... but..... one who has good/very good technique and still only hits it 220-230.... his issue is simply this ---------- lack of fast twitch muscles. Some people are just born to swing a golf club or baseball bat faster than others. I knew and played with several softball players that were not big at all & killed the ball. Then there were plenty of big dudes who were singles hitters. I know a guy who is about 5' 10" & 195 pounds. Averages 270-285 on his drives. Granted... he is a very good player but just an average guy who plays once or twice a week. Then I know another guy who is 6'2" & 235 pounds. Hits it 230. Yes his technique is not as the other dude but there has to be more than technique. I say some are born with it...some not. It's no different than baseball pitchers. Why can one guy get it up there at 95mph and another one only 87mph? Born that way....

Handicap is currently around 8.8. Which means lots of scores in the 81-85 range at my course. A few have been a little better (high 70s) and a few have been worse (high 80s/low 90s). Since converting to S & T, I have lowered my HDCP by about 3. I don't think S&T; is flawed at all... it's a completely legitimate way to play this great game. I have played 36 or 54 holes in one day several times this year. I have two herniated discs and one bulging in my lower back for the last 25 years. S & T has never made by back hurt in any way. Actually, since switching to S & T, I have experienced no "episodes" of back pain. Love it!

GOLF TEES: buy in bulk, or buy a few at the course?
Johnny1putt replied to Twan013's topic in Golf Talk
Some people think it's strange but I have been using brush-t's for a few years now. Never breaks and same exact tee height every time. $7 or so for a pack of 3 and I still have the same 3 tees for years now. -
Little confused about something. I agree the 5 physical keys would serve as a great in round reminder. What I am confused about is how do we actually get the 5 plastic keys. They don't come with the DVD purchase? We have to ask for them? Thanks.
