  1. Thank God it is back below $3 / gallon. That spike in oil cost me a few rounds of Golf this summer.
  2. 2nd Hole in One? I have never had one. Personally, I would rather break 70then get a hole in one, but thats just me...
  3. Step behind the ball, and aim (concentrate) on the target, envison the shot.. loosen up, setup, and swing .
  4. There are Fundemental things a Golfer often ignores, and runs to a pro for a lesson. For example, clean grips, hold on to your clubs.. spikes.. stand still, keep your balance, practice.. go to the driving range AND..get to the course early, practice your putting and chipping try this first before you run to a pro...
  5. Try not breaking your wrists, you'll get a more consistent shot. AND practice you wedge...somewhere... your yard, the range, by the putting green. Get some confidence, that's what its all about.
  6. I do believe there is a difference in your game due to the ball you strike. Some of it is 'mental', and some of it is due to technology of the Ball.. Fore !!!!!!!
  7. I'm in Illinois near Chicago, gas is now just over 3 bucks a gallon, funny how the price goes up and down so swiftly, eh?
  8. http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5j...26j7gD93UHKSO0 Source: SAN DIEGO (AP) Four months after his epic U.S. Open victory, Tiger Woods returned to Torrey Pines on Monday without a limp. He didn’t have golf clubs, either. Hopping from a cart, Woods walked up to 59-year-old John Abel, doffed his cap and extended his right hand. “Hey, I hear you’re looking for a caddie. I’m Tiger Woods—pleased to meet you.”
  9. Stick to Golf Topics plz.. when I tee it up with my pals, we play golf, make small talk, and rarely bring up politics or family issues.. seems to work all the time..
  10. I remember him for those 'Knickers' he would wear. Also, he seemed to have a good outlook on life. 'Twas a tragic event, and what a way to go, flying off into the next life.
  11. I hear you, its getting cooler hear in Chicagoland, although I do play when its sunny, no wind, and in the 40's, its good for a walk,, and the prices way cheaper.
  12. I would say best part of my game is my distance off th tee, I can hit close to 300 yds, lacking is putting, mostly because I have played that much this year.
  13. Best revenge is beating them at thier own game, Golf ! My best friends father was the Head Pro at a private Club near Chicago until he got fired. Those private clubs csn get very political..'live and let live' I say. Cheers !
  14. Yes, it's a poop score but I haven't played much this year due to economics, but I hit the ball well, just scored poorly. That's Golf, good days, and poopy days..
  15. I used to try copy his swing a million years ago. I'm trying to think of that great year he had when we started out winning a bunch of spring tournaments, and that U.S. Open win at Oakmont, even Tiger thought that was impressive.
  16. Get to the Golf Course early, maybe an hour before you tee off,and practice Putt. Work on pace (long putts), and to build confidence, practice allot of 3 footers. Also, take 3-4 balls to the practice putting green.
  17. FINALLY, Fall Rates here in the Chcagoland...I like a cheap round of golf, FORE !!
  18. I quit watching Golf on TV, didn't even realize the Ryder was on.. I miss my Tiger ! Golf is an * with Tiger missing.
  19. When I would play Golf, the ex wife would always say ...'well, you just spent $60 playing Golf, so I'm go to spend $$$$...'.. 'nuff said ?
  20. That guy is nothing but 'Sour Grapes', especially if you were behind. I've had ppl not help me find my ball, it's a bit irrating, but that's Golf . Too bad the Course didn't have 'Fore Caddys'
  21. This weekend I spent $75 to play 18 Holes of Golf at a 'middle of the road' course. Steeple Chase' in Mundelein Illinois. The pal that setup the Tee Time paid $55 because he is a resident. $75 is a rip off, I think..what do you pay, and where?
  22. I'm looking for a Cloned Odyessey 3 Ball, under 100 bucks. Anyone know where I should go, Internet or Chicago area?
  23. Keep your balance, don't swing really hard. Concentrate on hitting the ball, and don't get hung up on the mechanics.
  24. Get a 'Shag Bag' with about 30 balls in it, find a field, and ht balls there. Get some excersise and save moola !
  25. Practice Practice Practice. That's what it boils down to, or maybe carry another putter in your bag for the long ones
