The Dan Plan - 10,000 Hours to Become a Pro Golfer (Dan McLaughlin)

I guess calling it a minor thing was not the best descrirtion, but what I was referring is I see most people think changing their grip on the club is all the sdjustments needed to straighten out their swing. I have been playing over 25 years and have changed my grip a total of 2 times, I just think you need to pick one and stick with it. Basic fundamentals aim, stance posture, GRIP,start, backswing, downswing, club selection etc. Grrip is a fundamental in the sense you want it the same everytime not something you can adjust daily. How did I forget hips? -

Nice score then, like another said the srixon qstars are a good ball as well you may want to check them out also I tried a dozen out and was impressed with it's durability, distance, and feel. -
Did you know there is a tree that uses every vowell in it's name? Did you know there is a state with a pacific shoreline and a state with an atlantic shoreline that are only 1 hour/timezone apart? Sequoia, Oregon, Florida,

In fact I just had 1 today, I just started out taking easy swings with my 58* and noticed I was shanking the darn thing and then thin and some fat ones as well probably cause I was trying to stop shanking, anyways I was just getting more and more angry till I decided to just leave since I knew things were not going to get any better. I went home and had something to eat and then decided to look upon the net for shanking cures and behold I found out I was taking the club back too outside and that's what was causing it. I decided to go back to the range and sure enough was back to striking it pure and straight (as well as I can) and basically had a really good session. I realized also from now on when I'm struggling at the range I will use the info on my phone to get me through it.

Not wanting to nitpick but small muscles have very little to do with the golf swing,a person wants core strength with good flexibility. The biggest problem most people have trying to fix a swing problem is they don't return to basics but instead want to fiddle with their grip or some other minor thing. The more I pay more attention to this topic the more I realize Dan is not going to make his goal and by a long ways at that. The notion that he is putting in more time than other aspiring golfers that are probably way further along is simply not true, heck hes not even treating this like a full time job cause he would be at 10,000 after only 5 years versus 6. -

Two options, play from right side of tees and aim towards trap and hit a fade 200-220, other option is tee up left side with driver and aim right edge of fairway and draw around the trap, I do notice there appears to be some opening past the trap down the left side. It really depends on the moment on how you feel but that looks like the options. -
Obviously Jack Nicklaus was probably one of the best if not the best at course management, I think if you want literature that explains it probably get one of his instruction books he always includes course management

McFadden should have Been a good pick if the raiders would have stuck with the PBS they used last year but the new OC Greg Knapp changed it to ZBS Erich just puzzles the hell out of me cause he showed before ZBS does not work for him, say whatever you want about Hugh Jackson but he would listen to his key players when it comes to what works and what doesn't.

No, I was only using that for an initial example, the point I was trying to make was a lot of his practice schedule was very "tunneled visioned" by thinking practicing small specifics of the golf game will not reap the goal. -

I just bought that set a couple months ago. I think I paid $299.00 at Home Depot. Anyways flat out awesome drill/driver set you will not be dissapointed batteries last and last. Actually I had to look in my garage and discovered I have the 3 AH set and you are showing the 1.5 AH. Even though those small batteries look cool they wont last as long either. http://www.toolsandmachinery.com/blog2/?p=1932 This article has some good info.

I just can't help thinking that at the very start of this whole thing he wasted a lot of time on some really redundant practice like hitting 1' putts for the first 100 hours, I mean come on man I think 2 hours is gonna give you pretty close to the same amount of benifit, how good can someone really get on 1' putts? I would have had him hitting lag putts from 15'-20' to start with to develop feel and overall confidence and I certainly would not have him doing only that for 100 hours while neglecting everything else, chipping and pitching would be on the start of this wole endeavour as well because lets be honest you have to be an all out wizard around the greens to play with the big boys. I think when it's all over this is gonna be one of his reasons for not achieving the goal. -
I'm going to the golf expo tomorrow where I live and maybe they will have these on display.

Sounds like some here want some sort of litmus test implemented prior to being able to vote....why stop there though, lets just go all the way back when land owners were the only ones allowed to vote, it seems that a certain portion of the population feel slighted cause the president ran a better more sophisticated campaign by targeting speicific demographics in battleground states and it proved a good strategy. Now I can just hear them screaming for the electoral college being eliminated unfortunately that will probably be even worse for them. -

Tiger was a +9.7 at his club Isleworth in 2001, I would imagine +4 or +5 would be the starting point. As far as american handicaps are concerned though I play on tees that slope 135 to 139 and have 9 rounds of 79 or less and stick to the rules but I see the argument about tournament scores should only be considered. I think we have a tournament score section when posting and understand why this would be a more accurate way of determining a true handicap since it would probably eliminate most sandbagging. -
Just use impact tape

77 (72.5/135) 38 front 39 back 3 birdies should have me right at 75 most days but two doubles took care of that.....ooh well! My index is gonna drop again but probably the last time this year, im expecting 4.3 on the 15th.

Minimum swing speed for ProV1 or ProV1x
onesome replied to turtleback's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
The primary benifit of the Pro V balls is feel, I see plenty of players with slower swing speeds use them cause they are the best when it comes to feel around the greens.
