  1. Horribly sexist? How dare anyone acknowledge that someone of the opposite sex is attractive! Don't you people realize this is the 21st century?!
  2. I never called you a bandwagon fan. That was the other guy.
  3. Fandango is your friend on opening weekend. Pay a $1 convenience fee and you don't ever have to worry about them selling out. edit: That is making the assumption that your local theater uses fandango. I forget that since I live in the city now I get perks that small towns don't get sometimes.
  4. 11 > 4 Looks like a marijuana leaf sticker... I'm guessing Miami?
  5. Today = Last Saturday I shot my best round ever with a 75 on a par 70 course. It is the oldest course in Birmingham so it is very short (5801 yd). I had one eagle and 2 birdies with one double bogey (after hitting tee shot OB). I had 7 bogeys as well. I had 3 great opportunities for birdie that I couldn't convert. Just couldn't get any putts to fall from ~10 ft. My previous best round was 82 (which I did twice), so I was especially stoked about beating that by 7 strokes. The rating and slope was 68.1/128, so it was a really easy and short course. I was still playing very well though.
  6. I just got mine on yesterday too. I remember signing up for them a while back, but I had forgotten. Looking forward to trying them out.
  7. You are right about that. I included car debt as optional in the original post just because that is typically something that everyone has. It definitely is not on the same level as a mortgage.
  8. Seeing all of the replys to this thread talking about paying off debt made me wonder... How much debt do most of the users here have? Feel free to ignore the mortgage and car payments (even though they are technically debt as well).
  9. Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do
  10. I live about 5 minutes from that course. Always funny to come across locals one the interwebs. I like Eagle Point, but I prefer something with a bit more challenge: http://www.rtjgolf.com/COURSES/oxmoor_valley/
  11. Most teams in the SEC would be happy with 3 losses. That is part of playing in a league that had 5 teams in the top 15 at the end of last season. Oh and did I mention that we play a conference championship AFTER the regular season?
  12. I think if you could afford the entry fee and the vacation time, then why not give it a shot. If nothing else you would be able to play some extremely competitive golf, instead of the typical golf vacation.
  13. Give this guy some Rep! Solid work my friend.
  14. You were the most "redicilous". Golf ettiquette suggests that you request to play through. Not ride their tails until they get the drift. If you had hit one of them with your tee shot, you would be legally responsible (I.E. you could be sued). If you were only going to be playing nine holes then why did you decide that you should hit over them on the ninth hole? You were so close to being done that it doesn't serve any good.
  15. Here is mine....
  16. Got any links? I've never heard of this.
  17. 4 - Trouble off the tee, layed up to 8-iron range, caught false front and rolled back, on the green, putted 3 feet past, choked , holed 7 - middle of the fairway, greenside bunker, well past hole, 3 feet short, choked , holed 10 - drive that looked perfect, penalty because ball had caught the hill to the pond in front of the green (too much club off the tee), wedge that bounced off back of the green, chip past the hole, missed putt, holed 16 - drive to the middle of the fairway (ball well below my feet), shanked a wedge OB, angering penalty stroke, wedge to fringe, poor chip, putt came up just short, holed 17(my mental collapse) - chunked tee shot that somehow made the front greenside bunker, took stance over ball and realized too late that I had the wrong club so I had to swing it-- shot hit the sand just below the lip and buried, got correct club but lip was jail and next shot was left in the sand again, finally escaped bunker but nowhere near the hole, left the putt short, took a stab and missed the short one , holed 18 (because you asked) - drive got below some trees, punched back to fairway, approach landed on fringe behind the hole, putted on, holed There is a detail of the holes that you requested (including 16 cause I figure you meant to ask about that one). I'm seeing a trend of penalty strokes and missed short putts.
  18. Yeah, there are a couple of long par 3s. There are also a couple of very short ones too, though. It is a very old course (~100 yrs) which explains the short overall layout.
  19. Yeah, I got a nice bounce from the rough by the green and only had about a 4 foot putt straight up the hill. The most tense I've ever been over that easy of a putt
  20. I was just looking back at my round a couple of weeks ago during a golf channel amateur tour stop. It is honestly the strangest looking scorecard I've ever seen. I'm just getting very frustrated with my inability to make pars. My scores vary so much from hole to hole. Does anyone else struggle with this, and/or know a solution? (FYI - I was tied for first in my flight after 9 holes)
  21. You might not be able to stay young, but she makes good money to travel. She has made $21.1 million dollars on the LPGA tour ( source ). If she wants to just live off of that then more power to her. I guess the greediness in me would make it hard to walk away from that kind of earning potential at such a young age.
  22. We don't take to kindly to you not taking to kindly to these people... (heavy heavy sarcasm) On a very serious note though, you have got to start betting with these people. You could clean house if your game is as underestimated as you say it is.
  23. Played yesterday in a Golf Channel Amateur Tour event at the oldest course in Birmingham. The 14th hole was a 252 yard par 4 straight uphill with bunkers protecting the front. I hit a driver that started a little right and had the perfect amount of draw to it. It bounced on the slope right after the bunker on the right side of the green and took a big hop to the left (right at the pin). When we got to the green my ball was 5 feet from the hole. I was able to calm myself down and sink the 5 footer (couldn't have been easier, straight and a little uphill, with a gradually bigger uphill after the hole). My first eagle ever! Even better, I then went on to birdie the next hole (my third birdie of the day not counting the eagle)! Unfortunately I had a few blowup holes (2 triple bogeys and 1 quadruple bogey), so I still wound up with an 85, which put me in a tie for 5th out of 10 players. I didn't even care though cause I was still so excited about the eagle. Anyways, here is my scorecard: http://www.loopr.com/round/show/30200
  24. Just a reply to let ya'll know my decision and how it worked out for me. I went back the Nike One Platinums (2008) and I could not have been more pleased. When I got to the course I learned that my flight was going to be playing from the second set of tees instead of the tips. This meant the short course just got a ton shorter. I drove the first green with my 3 wood and two-putted for birdie. The second hole was a par 5, that I had a 7 iron into the green on my second shot (I pushed it way right, left my 3rd on the fringe, and then skulled my fourth... right into the flagstick and then the bottom of the cup!). Unfortunately the birdie-birdie start was negated by the triple bogey on the 4th. I did manage to drive the 14th, a 252 yard uphill par 4, and made a very short eagle putt (my very first one). Then the next hole I drove the ball into the rough just to the right of the green. Got up and down for the birdie there. Once again though, the eagle-birdie run was short-lived as I triple-bogeyed the 16th hole . All in all though, I think the decision to go with the Nike One was great, and I had a blast with the round. It was an emotional roller coaster and I loved it.
  25. Yeah, I've tried the 07s and 08s. I have to say that I like the 08s better, but I'm not really able to compare my distances with the two. I'm starting to lean more towards getting some more Nike Ones this evening. I think the confidence with the ball around the green would outweigh the confidence of extra distance. Since it is such a short course I'm not going to have to worry about hitting it long, if I'm not going for the green under regulation. My longest approach is going to be about 190 downhill (on a par 3), so I can handle playing the shorter ball.
