  1. I started with I was about 10 (i cant remember exactly), I would pull out the big stick on every hole on a par 3 course!
  2. I just want to start playing more consistant and lower my scores. Does this mean weight training and stretching, practicing on the range, playing, going to the putting/chipping green? I just want to use my time effectivly, not beating balls on the range, which is a waste of my time. I guess I need to get a plan that works for me. I need some advice !! maybe some links on weight training/ streching, I def want to do them more
  3. I started playing when I was 9, at an old 9 hole, par 3 course. I was only 9 so I learned how to hit the woods then. I would hit driver into every hole. I cant remember one single score I ever made when playing on that course, it was just pure enjoyment of the game. I only remember wanting badly to get on the greens in one shot(I cant remmebr if i ever did?), since then Ive been hooked
  4. you dont usually see him without a hat on, its true he looked so much like his father, that was the first time it struck me the man doesnt like to lose, the shots he pulls out are sick!!
  5. After Tiger drained that putt to win by one shot, he took his hat off threw it down and was pumped! It hit me, how old he looked, did anyone else share this thought with me?
  6. Here are two stories about cheating that i think top them all! this guy was in gym class, and he faked a hole in one, got his name in the paper and the whole school knew about it, i dont know how this guy can continue to live i was playing with a good friend of mine, i knew he didnt exactly play by the rules all the time. one day he was playing fairly good, making lots of birdies. at the end of the round he claimed he shot 66, when i saw him drop a ball after hitting ob, drop another when he went into the hazard. This score was almost the course record! That just makes me shake my head
  7. The game of golf is essentially a very simple game, everyone that plays can drive a golf ball, hit an approach shot, chip and putt. Its just a matter of repeating the process for 18 holes. Thoughts are what determine the outcome. I believe these thoughts are the key to playing the best golf, and no one does it like tiger What is going through Tigers head: -as he approaches the ball to hit? -directly before he hits? -while he hits? “Competitive golf is played mainly on a five-and-a-half-inch course...the space between your ears.” -Bobby Jones

    Swing Thoughts

I have been thinking more about this, and it is not possible to have NO thoughts, its just not humanly possible. There has to be at least one word in your consious thoughts while you hit. Thinking one positive word, like "fairway" or "green" may be useful. Where a negitive example would be "woods" or "water". There is ALWAYS something going on inside your head, always have to have a thought, if you dont your dead, literally you are dead! I always like to tell myself one thing before I hit and i find the most effective is "I can do this", "I am a good player", "I can make this shot"
  9. Hello, I have my handicap listed as 3 (I believe), but I realy think i am better than that. I always play my best rounds in tournaments. I cant seem to take just an everyday round serious, because i know no matter the outcome, it doesnt much matter. I always seem to focus and bring it in tournament rounds. In my limited tournament play, I have always strived in the tournament atmosphere. I have won almost all of the ones around where I play. I would say my tournament handicap is very close to scratch (if that makes any sense?)
  10. apparantly i pushed some peoples buttons bigtime, haha didnt know people got this mad over a silly golf fourm someone tryed to make this about a spelling error.....weird PLGM: When people look back, how would you like them to remember Nick Faldo? Faldo: Famous American question (laughing). You guys love to finish with this one. I don't know. That should be my answer; you Americans always want to know that. http://www.publinksgolfer.net/articl...ldo/Page1.html Faldo himself agrees with me? NCgolfer, what you said made no sense at all, my opinion is not fact? of course it is not fact thats what an opinion is..................................so im calling you out
  11. I know i just posted, but i just couldnt help myself. I totally forgot about all the CBS and NBC people, Nantz, Koch, Costas, Miller, just all american die hards!!!!! and they love it, next Chris Myres will be on golf, just typical nonsense by the american networks. (maybe he has been on golf, i duno?) They love it so much they need to get a life, they are totally brainwashed they just havent realized it yet. The golf channel is pretty bad too, Leaner and Sands, just pathetic. The american public does not understand Nick Faldo, too igonrant and one dimensional.

    Swing Thoughts

I am just wondering some peoples thoughts leading up to the shot, and while you are hitting.
  15. typical american, he is just so patriotic it makes me sick. all the reporters just love usa and are so bias. im sure any of those announcers would go on a date with tiger woods if they had the chance
  16. Hello I am a 21 year old who plays golf, I play to a scratch handicap and am looking to take my game to the next level. Im not quite sure what this means though. maybe apply to a college, maybe try to get onto some sort of tour. Im just not quite sure and I would like some direction/feedback. I just want to improve and will be totally dedicated to this if given the opportunity. Also, if you can help me out, please do!
  17. This sensation has happened to me, its the best feeling, just standing over a putt knowing you will make it. Have you ever felt this way about other shots? I have been playing and I was so focused I didnt know what I was shooting. Its the best feeling in the world and how to play your best.
  18. I have a few goals this season: -Work on my fitness, I want to gain some muscle so I feel better on the course and hopefully gain some yards with all clubs -Focus on the tournaments I am entered into, I feel like I can win anytime I tee it up -Establish my pre-shot routine even more, this means getting the proper things to think about also, having a positive attitude about everyshot will help me tremendously -This one may be a little much, but you have to set your goals high - Get a hole in one, I have been close in the past and I believe I can get one this season -Make it to the Canadian amateur championship, not only make it there, but I want to play my best and have no regrets about the tournament
  19. For the exploding golf ball, just write something on the ball yourself, just try your best to copy the logo of the ball the person is playing, theyll have no idea.
  20. Me and two others once played tin cup style, with a slight twist, 7iron and putter only, I managed to shoot 42 on a par 36
  21. I find myself struggling with driving distance, I can find any fairway I choose to thought! I would like to get some tips on how to pick up an extra 10-20+ yards
