  1. It's definitely not me since I haven't even played 10 rounds this year but a buddy of mine has about 75 under his belt. Courses opened here the last week of April. Not married and he has a very good schedule.
  2. I take lessons from the pro at a private club. It is a $2500 yearly fee with a $500 initiation fee. There is a bar tab at around $150 or so. Those costs might not seem too bad but keep in mind, in our climate we can only golf 5 months out of the year.
  3. I have two that occured in the same round. These might not seem a big deal to some but I never hit any greens in regulation. Shot 1: Long par 5 and I am about 140 yards away with my 7 iron. Hit it perfect and landed about 10 feet away from the pin. Can't remember the last time I hit from that far and the ball stuck on the green for me. Shot 2: 18th hole, 195 yd Par 3. Perfect 5 iron shot, dead straight with a nice flight path. Landed about 10 feet from the hole. Shot a 57 for that 9 which is average for me but finished the final 3 holes with bogey, bogey, par.
  4. Excellent game last night. Allthough the score was 3-2, Cam Ward kept the Canes in it and it could have easily been 4-0 in the first. Crosby should have had 3-4 points in that game. Fleury also played outstanding. This is going to be a long series I think.
  5. I haven't really choked yet since I can't break a 100 but here is a story about a buddy of mine. He is a scratch golfer and played in the club championship (2 day tourney) and heading to the 17th, he was 4 up on his playing partner. He proceeded to double 17 and double 18 while his oppenent made par. They went to a playoff and he lost on the extra hole. He still has nightmares about that. Granted, the 17th is one of the toughest holes on the course, but the 18th is a gimmie par 3. Dead straight and 140 yards.
  6. How ironic would it be if the Pens and Wings battled in the finals again, only to have the Penguins win the cup while Hossa is on the losing team again. Wonder if he would sign with Pittsburgh again in the offseason.
  7. The conference finals are set. An original 6 match up in the West with the Wings (2) vs Blackhawks (4) and in the East, the Pens (4) vs Canes (6). I am rooting for a repeat of the 1992 Cup Finals. :)
  8. I play ALOT live and online. Been playing for about 4 years now and really enjoy it. It's a great way to supplement your income.
  9. Looks like you had the two teams confused
  10. And they are up 2-0....What a show that Crosby and OV put on last night.
  11. This reminds me of the played out arguments on hockey boards about how TV always showcases Crosby and Ovechkin....They are the Tiger and Phil of hockey, ie the two most recognized superstars and the face of the sport. Of course they are going to focus on those two. You don't see the Caps and Pens series preview focusing on Maxime Talbot and Donald Brashear.
  12. Nice course in my area has the following hole. Hole #6, Par 6, 666 yards.
  13. With exception of your first two rounds, those last 3 were similar to most of my rounds last year. Heading into my 2nd year (1st round will be this Monday), I am hoping I can improve on those and establish my own HC Index.
  14. I would be interested as well....PM coming soon. Is there a minimum requirement? Not sure how much I will be getting out this year.
  15. I live in Saint John, usually play at Rockwood park.
  16. Congrats. Even though the course was a par 64 and you shot below a 100, don't let that bring you down. It is still a great accomplishment for you and it should be treated as such. In my one year of golfing, I have broken 100 once (98) on a par 69 course and have yet to replicate it. My goal for 2009 is to try and consistently break 100 this year, I would be happy as a clam if I could post anywhere in the 90s consistently for the year. The snow is gone and the ground is drying up around here so the courses should be open next week.
  17. Been pumped for this. I live in New Brunswick, just a stones throw away from the Island. I haven't played at that course but have played a few in PEI. Beautiful place. With 3 hockey games, 24 and Heroes on tonight, I think this will be relegated to the PVR to watch tomorrow. I have never seen an episode of BB so I have no idea what to expect. Anyone know when they would have taped this?
  18. I only wish I was good enough to enter a tournament. I have played the odd scramble which are a blast but I am nowhere near good enough to enter a tourny by myself. Even if I knew I had no chance in winning, I would bask in the opportunity.
  19. I would treat this course as a fine way to work on your short game. Given that you are a high handicapper, working on your short game is always the best way to shave strokes. Around here, there are two 9 hole courses (not sure of the yardage but it has some par 5's) and there is also an 18 hole - par 3 course which is great for the short game. I usually bring 3 clubs with me for this one. PS. I really suck at golf but you can take my post for what it's worth.
  20. I'll take that bet.
  21. Take a pill there smokestack. You don't need to flex your Internet muscles. PS. Are you sure the 14 beside your handicap isn't your age?
  22. You can watch me play....and just do the opposite.
  23. I guess technically he didn't exceed the legal amount of clubs in the bag if he had two bags lol
  24. Keep an eye on him, if he lands in the rough he probably punts his ball back to the fair and not take a stroke.
