  1. gotta bounce back boys.....good luck tonight.
  2. Puma is very big in Europe an I think with him become more of a worldwide athlete that would improve their brand more - and his endorsement income - but might also return him to the overrated title if he doesn't win overseas.
  3. You think playing around the world helps sell Puma gear as well?
  4. Lets Go Bolts.....
  5. wish more Americans would play the Euro tour - I lived in Germany in the 1990s and Zinger, Payne, Corey, DLIII and other PGA pros would make it over on a regular basis and not for just the Open or the event preceding the Open........I believe they received appearance money though......
  6. I've gone to a ton of Euro events in Germany (Munich, Cologne, St Leon/Rot).... and the spectators don't have a clue who the players are much less how to play the game. The game in Germany is for the wealthy and that's who goes to the tournaments there. Of course, their players (Langer, Kaymer, Siem) get the bigger crowds - well not Siem maybe, but the other guys do----then Tiger when he played over here in the early 2000s. But they really don't know the intricacies of the sport, imo.
  7. lets go lightning ----nervous as heck for this game 7
  8. I enjoy it -especially since golf's roots were in that region and under those kinds of conditions and not in the manicured, pristine conditions found at places like Augusta National where a blade of grass is out of place. I think I'm going to enjoy this year' US Open as I did Pinehurst #2 last year.
  9. Funny you say this because I'm in the same belief. I've been season ticket holder for NFL Buccaneers and right now I'm unloading several tickets (high demand team NYG, Dallas, Chicago) because I've gotten tired of the hassle factor. This will likely be my last season as a season ticket holder since the games now are all being broadcasted - no blackouts.
  10. Yeah, PGA should send out fans dressed up as Ian Poulter into the gallery and draw out the idiots.....
  11. Yelling dumb stuff makes it to all of USA's livingrooms and very few people enjoy that. Wave at the ballpark first of all is so 80s, and secondly doesn't affect home viewers who often don't know it's even occurring.
  12. Anyone with a spare $3.8 mil and want to move to N. Ireland.....Rory's mansion up for sale. http://www.golfdigest.com/blogs/the-loop/2015/05/you-should-buy-rory-mcilroys-o.html
  13. I stood next to two yahoos who yelled "light the candle" after Adam Scott's fairways shot (8th hole)....I had no idea who they were and they looked like two legitimate fans wanted to see Scott hit .....they found their position and waited from him to come down to his ball......scared the shit out of me when they yelled it ----all preplanned I'm sure. They didn't appear drunk - I just shook my head - wasn't worth the effort for me to confront them afterwards and ask "was the hell what that for"......it really is up to marshals to police that stuff -
  14. Byeong-hun Who? Puma is calling - endorsement deal.
  15. these tournaments make more money from beer sales than they do from admission to the event - you won't see this happening - most of these tournaments sell special tickets that allow you in to areas where beer/food is unlimited - even Arnie's tournament....."wine and dine" "wine on nine".....from what I see (I attend a lot of events), the drunk ones aren't necessarily golf fans and feel they can behave the same way they do at other sport events (ie college football, nfl, nba) - and aren't held responsible for it.......
  16. not much to watch there - Mrs Doubtfire winning easily.....didn get a kick out of seeing the pros (Lehman for instance) hacking it out of the weeds with an occasional hosel-rocket....unusual but interesting looking Pete Dye course they were playing there. my fear is that soon the major men's tours will be filled with a lot of unknown Asian players winning everything similar to the current LPGA tour.......just a matter of time- I really think this has negatively affected that tour. (Tennis has the same problem - no one knows or identifies with most of the players).
  17. He's been doing commentary on Golf Channel lately. In HDTV, he looks his age.
  18. can't say I'm a fan - must be from the time when she was playing the men's events before she proved herself on the women's tour - and that table-top putting stance makes me dizzy just looking at her
  19. appears Michelle has joined the TB Lightning bandwagon - saw the same thing happen with the Bucs during their SB year.....
  20. Tiger Woods' Off-Color Language Prompts FCC Complaints http://www.golf.com/tour-and-news/tiger-woods-cursing-draws-fcc-complaints
  21. One reason I enjoy watching other than PGA/EURO PGA events like this tour is that they play similarly to us hacks - its actually fun to see pro golfers miss greens and have to chip/pitch shots. I identify with the women's tours more so than PGA where these guys are hitting 300 yd drives, 175-yr 8, 9 irons. Women's distances are closer to my level.
  22. I like Rymer - think he's funny - I have a hard time listening to Gary Williams whiny voice - but seems to be able to talk off the cuff about most thing golf. Can't take too much of Damon Hack and John Cook doesn't seem natural - I usually only watch during big tournaments and majors. Can live without Holly on the show. She always reminded me of Chandler's Jewish NY girlfriend Janice.
  23. this Euro is working hard for his money....photo shoot yesterday in London promoting NIKE
  24. Played it ages ago and remember it was a premium course back then my partner and I had to pay extra as we were in MB in a golfweek sort of deal. Enjoyable course and typical of the South Carolina designs with tall pines lining the fairways on some holes, marshland on others. Didn't play well if I recall, but that was my fault, not the courses.
