  1. Not trying to defend any phonies, but I have played in tournaments where the first day I shot 81-82 and the next day shot 70-71. It does happen.
  2. Not sure about the size/weight differences without going to the web-sites and looking at specs. I'm basing it on the difference in weight/size of the Cliqgear 3.5 I gave to the wife. The Rovic takes up much less room in the trunk and definitely weighs less taking it out of the car/truck.
  3. I was hoping for a better result from the Haas cars. After the first two weeks I thought maybe they could compete with the other mid-level teams. They still might.
  4. I had the ClicGear and like the Rovic much better. Easier to maneuver and lighter. It also fits better in the trunk.
  5. Get this one and never look back.
  6. Years ago we used to have a game on Wednesday afternoons at the golf club where I was working at the time. It would usually get anywhere from 20-30 guys who could play good enough to maybe take some money from the other guys. One of the regulars was a guy who's name was Forest but we all called him Fuzzy. Fuzzy was the best golf hustler I have ever been around. If you shot 42, he would shoot 41. If you shot 70, he would shoot 69. He had some famous one liners on the golf course. If anyone would hit a good shot, he would claim "I didn't see it". And he never wanted anyone "talking to his ball". He always claimed that "his ball wouldn't listen to anyone else anyway". He was also famous for giving putts on the front 9 and then "needing to see that" on the back 9. He was a classic.

    2022 Masters

Friday was brutal. We had tickets and weather was not very good. I'm amazed how much different the course looked from the last time we in 2017. I will say this, that golf course is tough. From the tournament tees....wow.
  8. I kept waiting for them to say where they were moving too. I know it's in the "Houston area" but that's all I have heard. It's too bad, it seems to me like this tournament is the LPGA version of the Masters. No offense to Houston, but I don't really get the move other than Chevron wants to move it to their home town and they are spending some big bucks. It's not like there are "iconic" golf courses in Houston.
  9. I think Will Smith's problem is Mrs. Smith. I would have booted her long ago.
  10. TifEagle Bermudagrass will be used on the greens. They are going to "re-establish the surface areas back to the original boundaries". Sounds like completely new greens to me?
  11. Another good race for Ferrari. I think Perez got a little screwed or he would have been on podium with Max but...no dice. I have to say, it's strange watching Hamilton drive around in a car that can't compete. Someone's head is gonna roll at Mercedes.
  12. Not sure where to post this but...our club is closing in May to re-do the greens. They claim they will be back open in mid September. So, me and boys having a conversation yesterday about how long it will take for the greens to be "good" again. We play at another club who opened in October (after re-do on greens) and the greens are hard as rock and slower than they used to be. From my experience, it takes a good year for the greens to really get back to peak condition (playing partners seemed to think that it would take longer). Anyone else have any experience on this subject?

    2022 Masters

Going on Tuesday and Friday. Haven't been able to go in a few years so really looking forward to it. Little golf in Hilton Head in between. Gonna be a great week.
  15. I used to have a similar shaft. I adjusted mine on a tree next to the 8th green.
  16. What is this "snow" you speak of?🏝️
  17. It would appear so.
  18. Bad start for Red Bull. But a great start for HAAS!
  19. I do like mine. I really like the shoestrings. They never come untied!
  20. Yea, fuel costs won't change how much I play. So far, in the Tampa area, I have not seen any major shift in tourism based on fuel costs. It has, however, had some effect on getting your food delivered (uber eats, door dash, etc.). With spring break coming, It'll be curious to see if the people still come in droves. I have a feeling they will. Maybe we'll see more of the cost/travel effects next year? My work collogues have changed some spring break plans because of fuel costs and pulling boats or RV's somewhere over the break.
  21. Just looking for some input on the following courses I'm going to be playing at Hilton Head next month: 1. Harbor Town-don't really need much input for this one. 2. Atlantic Dunes- have heard nothing but good things. 3. Palmetto Dunes - Robert Trent Jones. Looks good. I know nothing else. 4. Oyster Reef- again, looks good but know nothing else.
  22. Okay...The Batman. Birdie. Good movie. REALLY LONG.
  23. Whole album is good.
  24. I have discovered over the past few weeks that when it comes to slow play, I'm actually dealing better with it when the round begins with slow play and it's that pace the remainder of the way. What really screws up my game is when we fly through the first 4,6,8 holes and then hit the wall. I usually lose my tempo and my game goes the wrong way. I am currently trying figure out how to deal with that. There really is no way around slow play in the Tampa area. It is literally slow everywhere, from the country clubs to the public golf courses. This time of year, 4 1/2 hours is the norm and 5 hours is pretty likely. It sucks. Just have to keep hoping for some good weather up north to get them all out of here.
