  1. I'm thinking about ordering myself some AP2's, 4-PW and getting 3 wedges to go with them. The 3 wedges? 51º, 55º & 59º, all Vokeys (52, 56, 60 bent down a degree) with rifle precision shafts on all of them (rifle spinner on the 59º). What do you guys think about this? To go along with the iron/wedges, i am planning on buying all of the new 909 stuff..prob. a 909 D2 8.5º, 13.5º 3 wood & a 17º hybrid. We'll see because i'd like to see what vokey's new wedges look like!
  2. Hotstix was only "slightly" aware of the release of these clubs so they're not all over the newswire yet.
  3. if you want to advance in skill, you should go over the fundamentals again and really nail those down. i tried moving way too fast, going from 0-60 before i was ready. I need to go back to the beginning if i really want to improve.
  4. Mitchell Spearman told me personally today that i need to rewind...go back to drill 2 before i work on my full swing. I've been losing so much balance in my downswing it's stupid and a simple little checkup by a top 100 pro just made me realize : "Before you can advance, you must first master the reverse." Makes sense to me...now!
  5. i already have $2000 but don't want to buy anything until my swing is perfect.
  6. i just don't want to give my clubs to hotstix for two weeks and not be able to play for that entire time. i think i'm just going to wait until the 09' stuff comes out and hopefully by then, i'll have my swing down to a science and i'll be able to get fitted to clubs with a swing that i'm going to keep.
  7. I have a dilemma. I want to get fitted for EVERYTHING and i have the oppurtunity to do so at Hotstix where i work (Doral Arrowwood). However, i feel as if my swing is not where i want it to be yet and to get fitted now would actually be detrimental to my game later on as i fix the problems that i currently have. I also have a dilemma with the fact that i want to buy 2009 equipment so i don't see why getting fit now would be a good idea when i would want to get fit for the new stuff, not what's out now. The dilemma part is that in the meantime, i'm playing with clubs that are completely incorrect for me and i'm continuing to develop bad habits that could easily be fixed with fitted clubs. ugghhh this sucks! what do i do?
  8. i've got a G10 in a stiff flex, UST shaft and unfortunantly, it's way too flexy for me.
  9. well, my 2 iron is pretty much a hybrid club that looks like an iron. it really hasn't done much to my game but that's because it's not properly fitted for me...none of my clubs aside from putter are fitted for me. i think that if the club was to my personal specs, yes, it could have some value but where i'm at in my game, it really doesn't add anything drastic.
  10. who is the most active user on this forum aside from the moderators?
  11. i just got one and i've swung with it but haven't got to the course after using it yet. i'll let you know what happens.
  12. i just saw these wedges and they look pretty nice but, we'll see how they play when they come out.
  13. using iron covers when you travel is fine. i actually only use one cover right now and that's for my driver.
  14. i play blades and i'm not happy with them lol. but that's because they're way too short for me firstly and secondly, the lie angles on them are way off. perhaps if they fit me properly i wouldn't be so unhappy with them.
  15. i am going to buy both a 5 wood and 19 or 18º hybrid and switch those in and out depending on the course i'm playing. Perhaps getting wedges with different bounces on them would be a good idea...going with the less bounce wedges on harder course conditions.
  16. i encouraged my father to buy two dozen top flite gamers. 3 piece balls at a good price...we'll see how they react to his game.
  17. The 6.0 is equavilent to "stiff+" in dynamic gold, so something like the S400 would match up to a 6.0 project x. 5.5 = S300 6.0 = S400 6.5 = X100
  18. Pro V1 = softer around greens and lands with more spin than v1x. Pro V1x = a little harder ball...travels further off the tee for most players.
  19. i have a club glove with a stiff arm and it works great! i got a bright yellow one so it's easy to spot.
  20. there was just a post about this same topic recently but, many people like to keep their wedges shorter than their irons i.e. if you have +1/2 inch extensions on your irons, some players like to keep their wedges at standard while others make the same adjustment, going +1/2 inch up. As for lofts and lie adjustments, i would often believe that the wedges would go along with the rest of the group.
  21. i really don't get why my rep. dropped 4 points today out of nowhere for no reason. does anyone else get that?
  22. i'm 6'2" and ordered a 36.5" putter but i think i'm going to go down to 36".
  23. so i should just email the head of the company writing, "hey, i'm looking to purchase two wedges but i'm not sure which ones would be best for me. can i get some help?"
  24. sabertooth, all the way.
