1. Thanks Mordan - I was leaning towards the one without the slope - thanks again
2. don't buy the golf scape it's not worth it - doesn't centre when using and I find that the markers for yardages are off! Battery life is garbage iPhone will be dead by the time the round is done BUT good at keeping scores, stats on GIR FIR etc so you know where you are struggling.
3. Hey guys with the version with the slope could you just turn it off? And let your playing partners check to make sure it's off... Or the risk of having the slope version would undermine your score (in the eyes of your playing partners) - im looking to play in some club tournaments this year that's why I ask. Thanks
4. BUMP! That's exactly why I'm looking to get a range finder! I have the golf shot got the iPhone it's great for keeping score and my rounds but awful for keeping my battery life and the new feature that it has called golf scape is okay but not very intuitive, you're always realigning it to centre. I know this thread is old but curious if anyone is selling there's?
5. I'd be interested also since I lost my divot tool from my local course last year and they don't sell it anymore! Something simple and a ball marker would be good! TST would be awesome
6. Hey Spider - welcome to TST - I am a firm believer that visualizing what needs to be done is easier than trying to explain it ...(certain things at least) I have a list of videos that I watch on YouTube that really helped and I hope (at least with your driver situation) this does too! I will have my swing on here soon - and I always like those who have the keen eye to help others get better! Let me know how it goes :)
7. hope it helps! Let us know how you make out! If and when you do get custom fitted make sure you look at grip sizes (your hand could be smaller/larger for a standard grip) as well as glove size - FootJoy (FJ) has this little device in the glove section that shows you which size of glove you should be wearing, here in London Ontario we have a GolfTown thats where I got fitted - they did a good job - or you could wait for golf manufactures such as Mizuno and have them custom fit you - you don't have to buy anything there and then but at least it gives you an idea on what you need. There swing optimizer is awesome (Mizuno) I play Mizuno MP-69
8. Marvin - your swing looks pretty good - but in the first video I noticed that your left elbow was coming in your side (aka the chicken wing) at impact - a cause of this is your flipping the top of your left wrist upwards - that may be a reason why you're not getting the distances that you are looking for b/w your 6-8 irons. A good drill to work on is to use only your left hand with the club and place your club on the ground at the impact position (shaft leaning forward - club face pointing towards the dirt) your left wrist will bow (pronate) whereas your the top of your right wrist will hinge up (supinate). And if you get a chance to read Ben Hogans: 5 fundamentals of Golf, that helped me understand how to strike the golf ball at impact - great illustrations in that book here are a few videos that helped me here and here and here
9. I use to be find balls in the woods and try them before I bought them - I find that for mey local retail store has AAA used Pro V1s and they, to me are great - I even find a nugget from courses played on the PGA tour
10. I own this club love it! Just regripped it with the BCT Velvet tour golf pride it doesn't look at nice as that one lol

Glad to meet you and all the forum writers - I just recently started to follow Iacaus - like you I love golf and hope to read/receive and give help to those who are looking for it!
13. I had Sneds Wi Badds and Westy all playing 192 points not bad - I just joined the Trap group been playing in the Rory McIlroy group will have to catch up to you boys ;)
14. Golf
I've spoken to a few people who really got their money's worth but it seems to depend on how flexible you are for tee times. I could never get onto a course in my area when I was availalble to play. So for me it really wasn't worth it (I didn't even make my money back in savings). I've decided on golfnorth.ca this year, I know lots of people who do really well with that.
I'll check that out! More options the better!

There is a great video on youtube that explains this little bit of information for you located here : Or take Luke Donald's advice he has very low bounce on his wedges and he believes that with correct fundamentals it doesn't matter - but to each their own I have a 52/05 58/08 64/07 all Mizzy wedges
16. This is a great post - I would usually start my range practice using my 8 iron then switch to lower lofted clubs - but I will start my range practice the way you stated - I think that's a great way to get consistency - this would also be great on 3/4 swings as well!
17. Hi Brad - this may be a little to late but I was looking to see who else was from London and I came upon your thread - let me know if you had a chance to use the london golf club membership - I was looking to get this membership this year - since they have added the muni courses in London (I believe this spring will be the second year that the muni courses are on the membership). What I have been told by a couple of friends who have purchased it (birdie plus) is that they find that it was a great experience for them bang for buck compared to just buying a half membership for the London Muni and playing the same course week in week out - whereas the londongolf you really get a variety to play good/great courses. Also when my friend Chris would book a tee time he would pay for his fee online which you have to do and book it for 3 extra people for that allotted time slot - we never had issues with tee times - as long as you look at the restrictions as some courses don't allow you to book at a certain time/time of week. Let me know how it panned out for you! Cheers
18. HI Bogdan101 - Im also from London Ontario Im curious who else on this great site is from London, maybe we could all meet up for some golf! just a thought ;)
19. Thanks for asking! Since its the off season in Canada - London, Ontario , there are two things I am working on: 1) Putting: more of an open stance like 45 degrees open - facing the target has really freed up my putting stroke - I still use the same principles of putting (grip, eye alignment) a single line on the ground instead of using my feet as an alignment (never seemed to work for me). I find that this part of my game has been the worst in the last 2 years since I have become more serious about getting better. I use a quarter and aim my ball to that quarter makes me focus on a smaller target which helps a lot. & 2) My take away (I believe I found a great way to work this out on this site :) I believe it was the hinge vs cock thread) it helped me a lot to make the right transition - I have a bad tendency to pull the club along to far on the inside with my left arm and consequently don't get a full backswing/turn and I become to handsy coming down. & 3) Shaping the ball - power fade/power draw (another great thread from TST), moving my feet to align in an open/closed just getting comfortable being in those positions, hoping to move this to the range to get comfortable hitting the ball with these positions. Thanks!
20. It took me about 2 months of range playing to really get to know how to hit my clubs as well as chipping/pitching 3/4 swing full swing - it takes time but the results are worth it! I like that when I make a swing I get instant feed back - hit it on the toe you'll feel it right away that's for sure!
21. same I chose the second one, usually the people I end up randomnly play with are old guys but are good fun to be around! I enjoy seeing guys who like to have a good time and aren't killing themselves because they didn't make a 3 ft putt
22. I agree with you that minor tweaks are going on with the MBs, I tried the 59s and I agree the extra forgiveness is great but I wanted to play MBs for a long time - this was my way of getting back to basics - I can honestly say the DGs S300 to me feel a lot nicer than the KBS and the PX 6.0 but that's just me - I know Chris Wood plays a combo set mp59 long irons mp69 short irons
23. thanks for the reply guys - I was curious to get peoples thoughts - I'm going to try out what was suggested here and get back to you guys- I was noticing that in my backswing I was a lot more shallow than normal - going to adjust that and keep my arms up like I normall do
24. I own these bad boys - moved away from cavity back to become a ball striker - great set, will never go back to cast - Mizuno Mp 69's 5-PW wedges Mizuno R-12 52, T-11 58, 64
25. Hi guys, Im going to revive this thread - first off im popping my sand trap cherry sort of speak - I read your forum all the time and always get great feed back on items I am looking for IE Fade, grips, etc! So thanks to all of you and this great golf community! I do have a question to ask about the power fade - everything that Zeph and Drifter have said has made sense to me but what I'd like to know or get clarification on is I start with my iron face already leaning towards the target line (irons) will that cause problems when trying to produce this shot? (I live in Canada we just got 30 cm of snow!) Just curious so when I do get a chance to try it out I know that I have all the key elements in place! Let me know and thanks again!
