  1. Spit, scrub, and wipe after every shot. Although I never actually sit down to clean my clubs off the course.
  2. Flop over a bunker to a tight pin, chunk it into the bunker a few metres in front of me. Quite enraging..
  3. Nope...
  4. Was at my local golf club Masters event here in Australia and the atmosphere was electric. Couldn't care less what Williams did to celebrate and I don't think Scott or Cabrera did either. The two embraced and showed awesome sportsmanship for what was overall an amazing and memorable Masters.
  5. I like UNI QLO, I hope they start making golf attire.
  6. I have nike in the bag and am a club longer than I was with my old Taylormade racs.
  7. About 200 yards out from the green, I played my second shot to a Par 5 with a 4i into a strong headwind. The shot was the perfect trajectory and right at the pin. When I arrived at the green to assess my eagle putt, one of two thoughts crossed my mind. 1. I came up a little shorter than I expected. 2. HOW is my pitch mark in front of my ball, I hit a 4i from 200 for christs sake! Anyone checked up a 4i on a flat green before!?
  8. Irons work for me.
  9. Look at my sig, lol. But TaylorMade does it for me in most aspects.
  10. Just getting back into golf after a 4 year hiatus from being a junior, I'm 22 now and on 17 h'cap, I'd like to be down to ten or 9 by the end of the year. Traveling to Melbourne mid year to play a sandbelt course and I'd like to not embarrass myself there ;)
  11. Geoff Ogilvy a look-in?
  12. Well, it could be that my conversions are a little off, growing up in Aus I'm not that good on distance conversion to imperial, maybe I should look online. These are my numbers from Metres to Yards on a converter, Driver average: 260m = 284yd 1.0184ft 3w average drive: 250m = 273yd 1.2100ft So yeah, I mean I wasn't too far off, numbers seem more exact in yards I suppose. Cheers for the advice.
  13. I know my numbers may seem ridiculous based on my h'cap, but I strike the ball well enough, just no skill from within 100 yards. I had both clubs on an indoor monitor and that was what I got. 9* launch angle with 3w and over 15* with driver, I think that is where my problem lies. I just can't justify dropping driver after I just dropped so much cash on it ha. But I will start hitting 3w on tee shots into the wind as the distance GAIN is very noticeable. Cheers for the input.
  14. So I'm not quite sure what to do at the moment. I have an rbz 10.5 driver stiff shaft, and I thought I hit it well. However I just purchased an rbz stage 2 3w and hit it the same distance if not further on most occasions. What the heck? Is the new rbz just a monster club? Or do I need a lower loft on my driver as it does seem very high to me? Any thoughts appreciated. Driver approx 270-75 carry 280 roll on a crushed drive. 3w 260 carry 275 roll everytime. Changed my distances to yards for you blokes. Cheers.
  15. So I'm not quite sure what to do at the moment. I have an rbz 10.5 driver stiff shaft, and I thought I hit it well. However I just purchased an rbz stage 2 3w and hit it the same distance if not further on most occasions. What the heck?
  16. I just bought some VR TW blades and have been doing nothing but flushing them they are great. TaylorMade has my heart in terms of drivers and rescues and I just picked up a ghost putter that rolls well.
  17. I was going to say I always repair my plugged balls pitch mark on the green before replacing it and putting out. Seems unfair to have to putt over a crater.
  18. Come on Ogilvy let's find a win here tomorrow!
  19. Driver is my favourite club. Could never part with my baby. Nothing beats the feeling of swinging as hard as you can and just knowing you're going to crush it. Sure, it's more wayward than a 3 wood (which I do use for placement off some tees while other blokes go with the big stick) but I'm lucky that my home course is a links so as long as I avoid water I'm usually not in too much trouble. The more confident and excited to hit a club I am the better the result.
  20. I alternate every second day at the gym with a one hour spin class and a one hour weights class (body pump) both les mills classes. Day on, day at the range/playing, day on. Well at least I will be doing that again once uni starts back, now I just play everyday ;)
  21. I judge mine on how often I am what distance out from the pin for approach shots. I then explore what each club can do in other scenarios to decide on lofts for my bag. At present I'm mainly focussed on having consistent distance gaps between each club.
  22. Just recently filled a gap in my range with a Callaway forged 52* so I play my VR TW blade PW at 46* the 52* Callaway and Taylormade RAC Black TP 56* and 60*.
  23. I've just been looking at this discussion myself, after years of never teeing it up until 3W and driver was needed off the tee, i've been teeing up every club (on irons so low it's not noticeable). I've found the only real difference (unless the tee box is battered) is a slightly higher ball flight and more spin which is great in some situations and horrible in others. If I want to hit a high shot that will stop a tee all the way, however into the wind I'll hit a low draw/fade against the wind off the turf.
  24. First post. I've just come back from a 5 year no golf window (played a lot as a junior then with school and other distractions, lost interest). When I cam back my mental thought process was hinge the wrists midway through the backswing and see my left knee point at the ball (to ensure body rotation). Now it's progressed to where my feet are positioned, ball positioning, swing path, hips firing to initiate downswing rather than hands, finish with hands turned over on a draw and hold of on release for a cut. So complicated! Game is fluctuating but seeing a steady decrease in h'cap.
