everyone does know about the Adidas warranty within 2 years too right? if your shoes fail within 2 years of purchase..they'll replace it with the current line... yup. just traded in 2 pairs of 360 II's that I bought in January of 09 and they traded them up for the 360 4's

don't let the 4 HC scare you... my anti is a 14...and lately i've been playing like a 20 with my military golf... i've only had 2 rounds sub 80 this year and that's with 1 mulligan...81 without the mulligan....so it's really 1 round in the 70's this year... please email me so we can get this Jersey golf thing going. yoshi@djyoshi.com

we can play Morgan Hill off of 78 in PA..it's about 2 exits in. I get great treatment from the Rutgers course and I normally just ask the director of athletics for tee times... let's all get up and play anytime

doesn't really teach you the proper way to conjugate verbs and tenses until you get into the more advance discs

it depends on the course... on my 2 courses I play the most... after a drive of 250 - 280, you're anywhere b/t a 7 & wedge for your 2nd shot... it's rare that I have to pull anything above a 5 iron... the only time is for a 170 par 3...which is the 2nd longest par 3...1st being 238... and I'll hit anywhere b/t a 4 - 6 iron on the 170 depending on the wind. Most courses I play are around 67 - 6800 from the black to 7000 from the tips.
-
I've never tried hitting a 1 iron.... hmmmm. I'd say I average around 260-265 based on GPS... capable of bombs 295 - 315 again...based on GPS distances... but I definitely wanna try hitting that 1 iron now

It's ok Erik... most people think that their smash factor is greater than most pro's

Forged Irons Life Expectancy?
DJYoshi replied to kingface12's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
you can always have the clubs reconditioned...regrooved...chromed..etc after a few seasons...sucks that they're so soft..but they feel freakin unbelievable whenever you hit your shots... DEFINITELY do the loft and lie adjustment at the end of the season...mine have shifted as much as 2 degrees in a single season... there's a bunch of places online that take about a month to recondition your clubs..... -
I go to the course by myself 3 - 4 times a week. My weekend rounds are the casual rounds with friends. it's definitely not uncommon to walk on as a single. Over here if you're at the course around 2/3...you can get out by yourself...and on scorching hot days...like 100+, the courses are straight empty.

picked up 3 pairs of Nike SP 8.5's last year for about $49.99. If you can go to an Adidas Outlet, you can score last year's Tour 360 3's for under a hundred.

kickpoint determines the flight of the ball.. high kick points = low ball flight. low kp = high ball flight. your swing speed determines if you should be swinging a stiff or regular flex shaft. if you're swinging in the 70's...then stick with regular flex.. if you're in the 80's then you can go with stiff. and this is SS with irons...not with driver.

I started learning how to work the ball as a 15 HC. and b/t dropping from a 15 to a 10 was simple: managing my short game.... from 10 - 5 was the ability to get up and down from any scenario... I play with mid HC's that strike the ball better and hit it further than I do.... but the biggest differences that you see with them is that their ability to get up and down from certain situations and recover isn't as consistent. with that said.... try working the ball... you obviously understand how to work it..hitting it high..low....hold shots...cuts and draws....I'll guarantee you that as you do it during the rest of the season, you'll see your ball striking get better and become more consistent. it really does eliminate over thinking and relies more on confidence and and your base of a repeatable swing.
-
well there's the simple: swing with a head cover under your arm pit. place a tee in your golf glove and if at any point it touches your wrist/forearm during the swing...then you're opening the club too much during the backswing. also try swinging in slow motion and see how your club face is squaring to the ball. also maybe you're putting too much spin on the ball with your shots??? have you tried to see the difference with a ball that'll spin a little less?

Who has ordered the Skycaddie SGX??
DJYoshi replied to Nike Markiie's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
just tried and it said the coupon isn't available -
I had the same problem at the beginning of last year.... I went to see my swing coach and he saw that I was cocking my wrist wrong....leading me to add loft to the club at impact... if you don't think you're doing this.... there's easy drills to keep from doing that... if you're not doing it..then change the shaft out... I play PX's which produce a lower ball flight.... if only you were in Jersey.. I'd let you hit my set.

How often do you change your grips?
DJYoshi replied to mrprovisional's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I play 4 - 5 times a week during the spring & summer....I think as long as you keep cleaning them with soap and water....you keep the tackiness of the grip and can go an entire season without changing the grip. -
so your swing speed is around 88 - 92 mph consistently. your driver is using a stock aldila.... http://golfshaftdeals.com/product/ust-v2-65-343.cfm Go with a regular flex. have them cut it down from the butt and don't tip it... you can actually use driver shafts on woods. wood shafts..people like to normally have a heavier weight in their wood shaft... if you want to get your SS up...just use a lighter wood shaft.. mid kick point...and the weight that you'd feel comfortable with. you've been playing for a little bit so you should know what your comfort level and how you want your clubs/shafts to feel.

Maybe it's a marketing thing? but I can work my brother's clubs (x-18's)...maybe not as easily as I can mine...but they can still be worked... a lot of tour folk I've seen in recent years have mid cavity clubs.... and they work it just fine. As for working the ball as a bogey golfer, I was considered a bogey golfer until last year...and I still tried to learn how to work the ball.. I learned the draw and fade in '08... in '09 I kept using it..and I feel that it made me focus & concentrate on the shot more.... There aren't too many shots now that I don't try to do something with the ball.. sure I fail...sometime I try to turn it over and I leave it out to hang...other times I try to fade out and I pull the ball.... but I feel that if you practice how to draw, fade, trajectory shots, etc...you'll have a lot more understanding of what the club does at impact and how to use your club for certain shots... and besides... to lower the HC I feel you need to "work the ball." even if it's just trajectory work.

I use a HiBoreXL driver and will hit it off the deck every now and again... on a cold windy Sunday...around 25 mph winds and 42 degrees... I caught my driver off the deck pretty good... was 230 -240 away into the wind and came up about 5 yards short and to the right... my driver off the deck ALWAYS has a slight cut to it.
-
with a HC of 1.7, I doubt there'd be people questioning your abilities...but as I say: who cares what they thing? Isn't that why we play this game? to keep on pushing and challenging ourselves?
-
high-launch shafts are there to help players that can't get good ball flight.... are you a male? female? have you had your swing speed measured? what shafts are in your driver and hybrid?
-
the flex doesn't determine the ball flight really... it's determined by the kickpoint of the shaft....so your best bet to keep it cheap... research shafts with mid kickpoints so you get the best of both worlds.... the stiffer you go...you can lose distance but gain accuracy.
-
PP, yeah man, we're trying to change the pre-game set to include other things this year. going back and forth to make the experience better. The Cincy game is the 1 when Erin Andrews showed crazy love. Since you're in Jersey..let's get up for a round sometime... I play at the Rutgers course once a month...

1 more club to add to bag i dont know which one?
DJYoshi replied to kevinbomb123's topic in Golf Talk
it ALL depends on your game really.... some people add the gap wedge...some people add the 5 wood.. IF you can control your PW and SW swings to eliminate the gap b/t those clubs...then by all means go with the 5 wood... I use the standard... and then instead of a 56 I switched to a 54 SW and then added the 5 wood into the bag this year..and got rid of the 2 hybrid
