  1. Louis Oosthuizen... great swing. OP, maybe a poll after this thread is complete?
  2. Good traction, even on damp fairways. Played yesterday on wet fairways, got a bit of mud on shoes, still no slip.
  3. I have Adidas Puremotion... comfortable, 2 year waterproof warranty & they look great! Size runs small though, I wear Footjoy 10.5 wide but Adidas 11.5M fit good. Also have Footjoy Contour Casual Spikeless... 1 year waterproof warranty. I prefer the Adidas. Good traction on both. Amazon has good pricing.
  4. The original Maxfli Revolution, was as good or better than Pro VI. Srixon Z Star and would you believe it... Wilson Staff Zip?
  5. For the last 20 years (55 now) I always used DG S300 shafts but when I bought new irons irons late last year ( Adams Idea Black CB3 Forged ) with regular flex KBS Tour 90 Steel shafts I am hitting my irons better than ever. (My driver swing speed is 95mph +/- 3) I really like this combination (Adams & KBS) If regular flex shafts feel good, I say go for it. BTW, I still use stiff shafts in my Driver, 3W & Hybrid.
  6. TJBam dropped the ball when he should not have? Shouldn't he play the ball as it lies?
  7. First eagIe, I was 35, 9 handicap 20 years ago in the days of wooden drivers & balata balls. (Dunlop Maxpower woods & Irons) Downhill par 5, 538 yards, hit a great drive about 310 yards (firm fairway, lots of bounce & roll), hit a 5 iron that landed short (as intended) and rolled up past the pin to 5 feet... made the putt. At one point the ball was hidden by the flag stick & I started yelling albatross... eagle was nice though.
  8. Great idea, I will have to try that myself. I have to stop being satisfied with pars, there are lots of birdies out there. Looking forward to an update after 10 more rounds & good karma to you!
  9. Useful info from PGATour.com: --The wind: In general, every 10 mph of wind equates to one more or less club. If there’s a 10-mph wind in your face, opt for the 8-iron over the 9; conversely, if there’s a 20-mph wind behind you, choose your pitching wedge over a 9- or 8-iron. --The temperature: The hotter it is outside, the farther the ball is going to carry. The cooler it is — i.e., early in the morning or late in the day—the less it’s going to carry. Also pay attention to the moisture on the ground because when it’s cool and damp out, you’re not going to get as much roll on the fairways as you will when the course has had a chance to dry out. --The altitude: At higher altitudes, the air is thinner so the ball will move through it more efficiently; and, as such, will travel farther. --Elevation: For every 10 yards of elevation (to an elevated green or one below your feet), add or subtract a full club. The lie of the ball can also play a factor—if you’re on a moderate to severe upslope, for instance, you may want to take one more club (i.e., a 6-iron vs. 7-iron), since the hill will tend to add loft to the club. http://www.pgatour.com/instruction/instruction-choose-the-right-club.html
  10. As the title says, I have an Odyssey putter with a rusty shaft can I re-shaft with a dynamic Gold S300 shaft? Are putter shafts intrinsically different to iron shafts? I have quite a few unused irons with good shafts + I have a new putter grip. Thanks for any advice...
  11. I have both... Bushnell V2 Laser Rangefinder & GolfBuddy Platinum GPS. I use the GPS more & if i need a precise distance to the pin I use the laser. For my golf the GPS is accurate enough. Most times knowing the distance to within 3 yards is good enough for me, Also, GolfBuddy GPS has worldwide courses with no subsciption fees. Besides the US & Canada, I've used it in Mexico, Dominican Republic, Barbados, Trinidad and soon to use it in New Zealand
  12. Rockbottom golf are reliable.
  13. Thanks for replies. Found this.... can't seem to copy & paste. http://golf-info-guide.com/golf-tips/playing-conditions/adjust-yardage-trust-swing-to-deal-with-elevation-changes/ Also, someone mentioned this : http://www.probablegolfinstruction.com/elevation_club_selection.htm
  14. ^^^ Sorry, don't know that answer... but I have a question. I normally hit my 6 iron 160 yards and I recently played a course where the altitude drop from the tee to the green was about 100 feet, the hole was 175 yards to the pin so I hit my 6 iron and flew the green to the back bunker... 192 yards checked with my gps. I was wondering is there a general rule to adjust for elevation changes? Anyone? Thanks.
  15. ^^^ I would double check that... I don't know about Golfsmith but i have ordered left hand gloves (for left hand, right handed player) from TGW.com & they sent right hand gloves.(for right hand)
  16. Shot 73 (par 70) in my club's monthly medal on Saturday 8th, June. Five birdies & I bogeyed the last two holes. Handicapper cut me to 5.2. Sheesh...
  17. Great review. A lot of golfers only go for the big name brands but there are lots of good & inexpensive products out there. I play the Wilson Staff Zip golf balls and they perform well for me.
  18. These balls work great for me. Every feature listed on the box is real !!!
  19. Adams Speedline Super S Driver & a 3 pack of Wilson Staff Grip plus gloves. Previous trip... double dozen of Wilson Staff Zip golf balls. (very nice ball, soft, good distance, enough spin & inexpensive)
  20. I have a Sun Mountain Micro Push Cart (4 Wheel).Works great, folds small & easy to push. Four wheel carts are the way to go...
