  1. But if the other people are so concerned, then they can willingly get vaccinated, correct? At that point, the people who really want it have it and the others accept the risk. I think I read somewhere that the U.S is going to soon approach the plateau of people who want it and is willing to get it. Not sure what the percentage is but if I remember correctly it is around 70% or less. That means approximately 30% of the population is not willing to get it. And it also means there are far more people that have the same opinion that I do that anyone wants to admit.
  2. So everybody knows, because that is what the grand majority of the people that is on this forum wants to hear: I did get the vaccine. Not because I wanted to. Because friends/family pressured me. If they didn't, more than likely I wouldn't get it. Also, if a person is worried about getting COVID, and they get the vaccine, the vaccine protects them, correct? Then why should they be concerned if I didn't get the vaccine? They are protected. And if you would really know me, I am far from selfish. One of my good friends at work think like you do, and he doesn't understand why I think I do about this. But we are still friends. It really is ok to have a different opinion. And he will also say I am far from selfish. I don't have facts to back up what I think. I just think certain ways. Doesn't mean we cannot have fun on the golf course. We just have different opinions. That is all.
  3. Remember, I also said that I do understand that everyone is different. Everyone will react differently.
  4. 1. True. Ignorance is the lack of understanding. I agree with you. 2. You think it is stupid to not get it. I'm ok with that. I think it is a waste of my time. I have known people to get COVID. They are fine. And yes, I know everybody is different on the reaction. I'm willing to accept the risk. And yes, if I wasn't feeling pressure, I would not get it. So maybe I shouldn't be so general. You are correct, I don't respect the opinion of deplorable people. As long as it is not deplorable/against any kind of law. We all have different opinions. It really is ok. No reason to get all up in arms about it.
  5. You know, I don't appreciate being called ignorant, uneducated and a moron just because I have a different opinion than you. That is what is wrong with people, just because a person has a different opinion doesn't necessarily make them ignorant or stupid or a moron. I was raised differently. I was raised to respect a persons opinion and just because it differs than yours, doesn't mean the person is a moron or ignorant. It means they have a different opinion, and they have a right to that. Wouldn't discussions be boring if everyone agreed with everyone in the discussion? During those productive discussions, who says one person is right and one person is wrong? Also, I don't believe in most conspiracy theory's. You have your opinion, and I have mine. Just because I don't agree with you doesn't mean I'm ignorant. And you are not ignorant either. Show some respect, man.
  6. Not what I meant. Friends and Family want me to get it due to reasons that you have said. I, however, don’t see a reason to get it. I’m doing it because they want me to not because I want to. If it makes them rest easier then I’ll do it. If they didn’t exist then more than likely I wouldn’t even care to get it
  7. Who says you are right? Who says I’m wrong? That’s the problem. People don’t take the time to hear what the other person says; they just assume they are right and anyone who disagrees is wrong. Not necessarily. A person should be able to listen to what the other person says and while they might not agree; appreciate where they are coming from
  8. Personally, I think Florida is doing fine; along with the other states that are open. I am from Michigan, where we have had a lot more restrictions than other states; yet; our numbers were high until most recently. The death rate from COVID is extremely small. Everyone takes risks everyday in life whether it be driving to work, going on a trip, etc. Just because you get COVID doesn't mean you will be in a hospital, let alone die. No matter what, I don't think I need the vaccine. It's as simple as that. I'm getting it because of friends and family. If I didn't have those, I am 100% sure I wouldn't get it. It's just not worth it to me. Anyways, everyone has a right to their opinion and that is what makes discussion good. It wouldn't be a good discussion if everyone agreed with what the other was saying. As I say to friends, we can disagree and still be friends. That really is not hard.
  9. No, I am not younger....will be 43 this year. To some, that may be young though....
  10. I also don't agree with that. If a person doesn't think it will affect them, my thoughts are they would be less likely to get the vaccine. Again, these are my thoughts, and I am getting the vaccine even though I don't think COVID would affect me. From what I have been told, most likely it will be like the flu or a cold. However, as I said, I am getting it due to other people (family/friends want me to).
  11. Here are pictures of the greens at a Pa\r 3 in Monroe MI. All greens are like this. Enough said.
  12. I don't necessarily agree with that. I know of people not getting the vaccine, and they are not uncaring. For me, I do not think I need the vaccine. I just don't. The odds that I've seen of something majorly happening to me if I get COVID is small (and I do have a heart condition). However, I am getting the vaccine for my friends/family. They know that I don't think I need it; I'm doing it for them, not for me.
  13. I currently live in Monroe, Michigan. Work in IT at University of Michigan Credit Union. Matt McTaggart.
  14. I actually grew up in the thumb and went to Mayville schools. Was a member at Greenbrier and my parents still are.
  15. Question. Have you considered an Equinox? Very good vehicle, I know 3 other people besides me that has one. Everybody loves it.
  16. Timber Trace in Pinckney Huntmore golf course in Brighton Moose Ridge in South Lyon Inkster Valley in Romulus
  17. I run a league with similar rules. Every year I have people asking if they can be on the league. Why? Because it is FUN. The just want to play in a league and have fun.
  18. I disagree that closer is always better. For instance, I would rather have a full shot into the green than a 1/2 or 1/4 shot. Of course, this is just my opinion.
  19. Seems kind of weird that all the golf leagues start at 3:00. On the league I'm in charge of, the first T-time is supposed to be 6:00; however; if there is no league in front of us, sometimes we get out earlier; around 5:30. Most of the courses that have leagues around where I live have ones that start around 5:30 - 6:00 for those that work.
  20. Thank you again for all of your information/help. I'll check out the web-based solution; also I'll check out the other software to determine if I should use that or Excel. What I would love to have done automatically, is when I put in the scores it will calculate the handicap, standings, and average for each hole. I don't know if it is possible, but I would love it to determine the points for each week based on criteria I specified. This year I it was two man teams and each team had an A and B player. The A player played the A, and the B played the B. Then the points were added up for team results.
  21. Yes, handicap will be adjusted weekly.
  22. This league is a 16 week league with two 8 week halves. The max handicap a person can have is 18. Thank you for your explanation; it makes sense now. For all secretaries out there, can you tell me what league software you use? Again, thanks.
  23. I am new to this forum, so if I shouldn't start out with questions, let me know. I am the secretary for our golf league, and we handicap 100%. I figure it out based of 35 (front is par 36; back 34). I take the previous three weeks average, minus 35 and that is their handicap. A person on the golf league said we should be using 85%, taking their handicap at that point and multiplying by 85%. He said it should more evenly things out. I'm not sure I understand how that would work, the giving of strokes should be the same correct? It shouldn't make a huge difference, or am I missing something? If anyone runs a league, let me know. Also, is there any golf league software out there anyone can recommend? Thanks.
