  1. yea usually my ball just spins back a foot or so. But yesterday i was playing off of grass with dirt under it. I really hit down on my gap wedge and thhe ball looked perfect. The ball mark was about 2 inches from the hole. Guess where the ball ended up? 15 feet below the hole because it spun so much. That sucked haha

    Vijay Singh

I've betted against tiger like that before and guess what....ull lose. He always seems to find a way to win. That being said vjay played really well that last couple of months. Its going to be interesting to c how he responds to tiger coming back.
  3. When i get off the 18th hole i add it up. I almost killed my friend the other day when he told me i was 2 over going into the 9th hole :(
  4. is it ok to post 9 hole scores. Next to the score it says 9 holes but does that mess up your handicap?
  5. uhhh 20 hancicaps dont usually shoot 77.....right? haha
  6. Was playing with 2 kids. One just had one the club championship that day. Anyway he crushed his drive way through the fairway. It was a double dog leg tho so he just had a blind shot to the green. He took out his 6 iron but we thought he was going to go in the water behind the green. He ripped it but we couldnt c where the ball went. I played out the hole and when we got to the green we couldnt find the ball. We thought it definetly had gone in the water. I go to pull the flag out and the ball is in the hole. The ball mark was about a foot from the flag. It must have slammed into the flag and went in. It was nuts.

    Club Choice

Haha who said pros know that they can hit a driver straight? They hit other clubs because they are not positive they can pull off the shot. I was on a 380 yard 4 yesterday going into the hole even(first time). Now i could hit a driver 260-280 and have some type of wedge in. However not feeling overly confident with my driver i took out my 3 wood and put it on the 150 marker. Literally had to take a drop cause i was dead in the center of the fairway on the marker. It really is so much easier to control a 3 wood for me. Therefor i hit it whenever i can. The incentive is to hit a shot that they absolutely know they can hit consistently.
  8. uhh bad grip=bad swing might be a little strong. I've always had a stronger grip that i continuously fight but i have a pretty nice swing. That being said it certainly makes things easier to have a good grip. Having a ba grip complicated a swing but it doesnt make it a bad swing.
  9. haha yea thats what happened to me. I guessed i was around a 13 handicap because i average about an 85. So i started adding my scores in and put in a 40 from the back tees and all of a sudden im like a 6.7 haha. Now after 11.5 rounds im an 8.8 but thats because i just shot 78 today :) In a few more weeks ill be a little higher.
  10. im not saying anyone cant use a 60. What im saying is that people use their 60 too much. Its a club for hitting high shots for when u have little green to use. People, especially high handicappers, use them when they could use a lower lofted club and roll it close.
  11. You definetly dont need a lob wedge. I recently took my 60 out of my bag and i havent missed it. I chip with a gap or pw most of the time unless i need to flop(sw). Since u r a higher handicapper i would say to try not to use the 60. I see so many people using the 60 when they dont need to. Hit a nice bump and run and save yourself some strokes.
  12. today i was 7 over through 4 holes. Then i parred the next 6 and ended up with an 84 haha.
  13. yea when people tell me what they shoot and ive never played with them i usually dont believe it. A kid i work with started golf about 2 months ago and took a couple lessons and practiced for a while. So when i see him come in from his round i always ask him what he shot and he is always like 39 or 42. So i just say nice round. Now when we got out to play he shoots 62 on 9. Yet he still says he just had a bad day and that he has shot 78 before. He is just lying to himself haha.
  14. haha my team is gonna be so good this year its not even funny. Even though i have gone from shooting low 90s to low 80s conistently over the next few months, i still wont start on our golf team. We have 6 kids who can shoot around par on any given day. Cant wait for senior year tho hhaha
  15. why does ur handicap say u r a +7.9 haha?
  16. was the vokey u tried a 52 degree?
  17. what degree vokey and cleveland were u using? My problem is that i can hit a low firing pw that checks up a little and then trickles to the hole. However i cant use this on close shots. Ive been using my gap wedge and since it worn no spin. Im always flying the ball by the hole and its killing me.
  18. Right now i have an old 53 degree cleveland but the grooves are really worn and it is harder to spin the ball. So i was thinking of getting a new wedge. Have any of you guys tried the zip grooves? Do they make that much of a difference?
  19. For some reason i was in a huge slump with my driver for about 5 months where i couldnt hit it at all. Therefor i just hit the 3 wood off the tee. I hit it a solid 220-240 and i had pretty good control with it. I made the golf team without using my driver once. It wasnt until mid season that i started using it and my scores have only gotten better because im more conistent. Not because im hitting the ball longer. You would be surprised how many times the person closest to the hole will walk away with the worst score. I was very comfortable with 6-8 iron so i scored well with my 3 wood.
  20. so do u mean ur breaking your wrists hard almost like a flop shot?
  21. sry double post
  22. Lately ive been becoming all to knowing of my biggest weakness, pitching inside my wedge range. I keep getting in these situations where im much closer to the green than my friends(because im a little longer) and end up walking to the next hole with a worse score than them. Im a pretty good putter and im actually pretty confident in hitting my wedges. However if im not taking a full swing with my wedges i have serious problems. I get to about 50 yards away from the green with tough pin placement and i look at it and think id rather be 75 yards away so i can hit a full 60 nice and hig that will sit. I usually try and use my 60 degree on these type of shots but i really need some help on them. Does anyone have some tips on how they tuck it close from this distance? What club do u use? And what are ur swing thoughts on this type of shot? -eddie
  23. Definetly getting on the green from about 50 yards. The other day i was playing on a dog leg par 4. I hit a big drive over the trees and had a 40 yard pitch in with tricky pin placement. I took out my 60 trying to stick it close and ended up chunking it. I then went on to make a nice bogey save from there but its so frustrating. I cant get the ball to stick from within 50 yards. I always seem to have to fight for pars where i should have good chances at birdie.
  24. yea i love my cobra baffler 3i hybrid. It is extremely easy to hit but i tend to have some trouble controlling it off the tee. It is a great club to have if ur not that confident with ur 3 wood and u want an easy club to it.
  25. i had the white hot rossie mallet and really hated it in the long run. Just bought a never compromise gm2 exchange #5 blade putter and i frikin love it. I feel so much more confident with this putter. It is extremely easy to line up and is nice and heavy.
