Anyone actually try the new Bridgestone Treosoft yet? How does it compare to the E6+? I normally use the Bridgestone but have tried the HX, HX Hot, Precept Laddie X and V1/V1x lately. I still like the Bridgestone E6 the best followed by the Precept Laddie X. The Precept is by far the best deal. I got a 24 pack (2 dozen box) at Target for 20 bucks.

TM Burner vs TM Tour Burner...
CosmosMpower replied to Chris5573's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
What's the clubhead size on the Tour Burner, 420cc? I found that I actually hit better with slightly smaller clubheads. With some 460cc's I feel like I can hit it anywhere on the face and it results in bad shots. If I have to concentrate and narrow the impact point to a specific place on the face of a smaller club I tend to get better results. -
How good are you? Just look at your face...

I bought some impact tape and put them on my irons so I can see where the impact is. It gives you a lot of good information such as standing too close/far from the ball etc. -
The stock rubber grips that came on my Adams were tearing my hands up even with gloves so I switched to some Winn G8's. They are the soft squishy type of rubber but still give you good grip and control. I think they were 3 bucks a piece including installation at golf galaxy. I also had my backup set of Eye 2's gripped with those, I'm very happy.

I'm grateful that I was raised in a good family with 2 parents that didn't ever consider the meaning of the word "divorce" during hard times. I'm grateful that I've never gone a day in my life wondering if I could eat my next meal. I'm grateful that everything I worry about in life is in actuality trivial and stupid in the big picture. I'm grateful that I get to experience some things that many 25 or even 55 year olds never get to experience like owning an exotic car or taking a week off of work to go on a cruise for a family reunion.

I'm sure the majority of the people on this board with white collar 8-5 jobs are the exception not the rule but it seems like if you can find a decent full time job at a stable company you should be able to afford health care co-pays, deductibles etc. I work for a small/medium size company and when I go see a doctor or even a specialist it's $15 out of my pocket and $8 for most medications. I'm single and fairly young and I pay about 60 a month for health, medical and vision combined. That doesn't seem unreasonable to me. I can see how it could be terrible out of pocket though as some generic prescriptions that cost almost nothing with insurance can cost 150 bucks without.

I would make people walk everywhere that was less than 15 mins walking distance. That would help dramatically with polution, gas, obesity, health care. Americans are fat because they eat crap food and then get in their car and drive everywhere and then complain if they have to walk 50 feet from their car in the parking lot to the door of the mall.

Looks like someone is trying to show off in a sly way. But yes everyone on a computer reading this forum is lucky to even be in a room with electricity, real plumbing and running water and a computer to use. I like to complain a lot but really and truly I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I can afford anything that I want and need within reason and still be able to put food on the table, how can you ask for more than that?

When I was a 38 handicap I could barely put the clubhead on the ball solidly half time time. I don't know how you got reliable repeatable numbers at a club fitting. Now at 20 I'm still a bit worried to go get fitted as I don't know if my swing is consistent enough from one day to the next.

?'s on womern's clubs
CosmosMpower replied to scooterguitar's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
When we were shopping for my gf it seemed like everything in stores was walmart crap of 700 bucks for a set of irons. We ended up with a set of nice Cleveland TA-6W irons that were marked down from $500 to $250. Then we got her an Adams A3OS driver, Nickent hybrid and Odyssey white hot putter and Nike stand bag for about another 350 bucks. -
I've seen that one before, does that deal with the short game or everything? I heard Penick is a great teacher.

Awesome thanks, I think I will definitely pick up Paper Tiger it seems like an interesting read. It sounds more like a story than instructional. Can anyone reccomend a good instructional book so I can have one of each?

Hybrid loft question for the board
CosmosMpower replied to Danfix99's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I got a 19 degree to replace my 3wood and a 23 degree to replace my 3 and 4 irons. -
Thanks for the post. A brief synopsis would be very helpful as well. Such as "It talks about all aspects of the game but I like the section on course management and it has a lot of useful photos/diagrams" etc.

Do you and your buddies "have a good time" on the course?
CosmosMpower replied to dro's topic in Golf Talk
I either don't drink or drink 4-6 during a round. Never stumbling drunk though, I'm a lightweight but 6 drinks of 4 hours isn't that bad especially with a lot of water as well. I find that I play the best either with no beer or right at 4, anything after that and shots start drifting. I tense up too much on the tee box and play much better when I'm relaxed and carefree. -
12-15, I mostly play municpals.

I'll be on a cruise next week relaxing and want to pick up a few good golf books. I have no idea where to start but was hoping you guys would point me in the right direction. What are your favorite and most useful (on the course application) books out there that can be found at Barnes and Noble etc and why? I prefer something that's less technical and easier to understand as my mind doesn't work well with things like physics and engineering :)
-
I play about once a week twilight at about 20 a round or $80 a month, usually hit the range once a week or play 9 for 10 bucks so 40 a month. Basically $120 to play a month plus misc equipment, balls, tees etc. I find economical ways to play.
-
If you're a 30 you'll probably lose a lot of balls. I highly suggest getting used ones at lostgolfballs.com. You can get lots of decent balls like the HX hot for about 10 bucks a dozen. For the money you were going to spend on something fancy you could get 3 dozen pretty good balls.

My bag changes a lot but the latest is going to be: 12 degree Driver, 15 degree 3 wood, 19 degree hybrid, 23 degree hybrid, 5-9 irons, 48 degree PW, 53 degree GW, 56 degree SW, 60 degree LW, Putter
-
I would ditch the 3 and 4 iron and pick up a 3 wood off the tee, 19* hybrid which can also be hit off the tee and a 23* hybrid.

I use a Nike Slingshot cart bag it's nice has lot of storage (fit my shoes in a large side pocket), full length dividers which I love etc. I bought a stand bag for walking that still has large pockets like a cart bag but the only downside is no 14 individual full length dividers. That one is a white/blue/red Tourstage (Bridgestone Japan) which looks very funky.
