  1. you Tiger lemmings are hilarious.
  2. It goes beyond his health and his swing troubles...we have to factor in his personal life, and the distraction he is going to have trying to not lose his children. There is just too much to overcome. Can he put together a few good performances in Majors...maybe, but he's gettnig older too, and these young guns have no more fear.
  3. He's lost...lost his swing, lost his drive, lost his family, lost confidence. Stick a fork in him (and stop wearing your red polos to on Sundays). Also, if you do attend a PGA event in person, it's not cool to wear your golf shoes.
  4. I don't want to hear how Stricker and Westwood were down and out and made remarkable come backs...they did not have anything close to the personal issues as Woods does, and their fall from grace was nothing by comparision. I think now is a good time to get off of his jock and start to give our attention to all the great young talent the PGA is experiencing today. It's the best young crop of golfers I've seen in my 31 years...
  5. I'm not surprised at all Carl carded that 102. None of these guys are good players...and even though he's managed to stay on the show, Carl's by far the worst. His swing is terrible. After this season I'm starting to wonder how you get on that show. It can't be that hard.
  6. Folks...Tiger is done. He is going to win more tournaments, and perhaps a Major or two, but the days of him dominating...or even the days of all you lemmings thinking he's the only thing that matters on the PGA or over. Period. Case closed. He'll obviously still go down as one of the all-time greats, but 30 years from now, when people talk about him it's going to be a 'what could have been' conversation. Not only did he screw up his mental game (his biggest strenght), but he is getting older, he has physical issues with his knee, and most importantly...there is a crop of EXCELLENT young talent out there who is no longer intimidated by him. Let's move on...there are other players worth watching on tour right now.
  7. He'll be lucky to win one more. 30? Comical.
  8. I shot an 87 on Sunday. Everything is still really soggy in Ohio, and it was really windy...gusting over 30 mph so I was happy with that.
  9. Charl Schwartzel- best all-around game on tour right now. And folks- Tiger is done...mmmmmkaaay.
  10. Streching your lower back and hamstrings are the two most important muscles to get lengthen to help your swing. Obviously, stretching by rotating your upper body is going to help you to get more shoulder turn. Youtube has several good stretching routine videos, some related specifically to golf.
  11. First thing you need to do is look at your grips themselves. Grips that are too small for your hands, really get your hands activated in the swing and can cause you to hook the ball. Your grips may not have tape under them, they may be under-sized grips, or if you have big hands you may need a mid-sized grip. One way to check this, grip the club with your left hand as you normally would, if the tips of your fingers touch the pad of your thumb, your grips are too small.
  12. One thing I noticed that is causing that slice/push is the fact that the clubface is open at the top of your backswing. You're cupping your left wrist, which is causing the clubface to point at the ground (open position). That's why you're coming through open and pushing, fading and slicing. Correcting that can go along way in fixing your push/fade/slice. A drill you can use is to put a golf glove on your left hand and secure an old credit card or playing card on the top of your wrist (secure it in the velco of the glove). You shouldn't feel this card in your backswing at all if you're not cupping your wrist.
  13. This $#@$ is always paralysis by analysis...you have to find what works for you, and you alone. If this is the swing thought you need to make good contact...keep going with it.
  14. You're just going ot have to get a swing thought that works for you and work at it on the practice tee. I struggle with this from time to time. Everyone is different, but here's what works for me. I use a little waggle before I take the club away. When I waggle it, I really try to feel the weight of the clubhead which I can only feel when I have the proper grip pressure. So, that for me at least, is a little mental cue. I played hockey all my life, so from time to time I get the same mentality of trying to "hit" the ball instead of swinging. So, I also try to make sure I just make swing with good tempo.
  15. I wouldn't get so caught up in the degrees of your turn etc... I'm no expert, but from what I'm seeing the club is really laid off at the top of your backswing and if you'd allow it to hinge you'd get the shaft more parallel to the ground and probaly add more distance. You have a very flat plane as well. But like I said, take this with a grain of salt...there are a lot more guys on here that are more knowledgeable than I am.

    PGA Fiasco

DJ is going to win his share of Majors. The kid has sick game... But this one was really on his caddy. From what I've heard, the PGA made it clear that they should treat every such area as a bunker, and that there were over 1,200 bunkers on the course. So you have to error on the side of cation. That said, if you're going to expect the players to treat that area as a bunker, you can't have the gallery walking through it. Period. I think that is really what made both DJ and his caddy to not even consider the fact they were in a bunker. His caddy set his bag down in the bunker as well...
  17. Nice looking swing, but I agree with whoever it was that said you're taking away the club too far inside. I agree with the ball position as well, you should play it more forward in your stance. That should help you control it.
  18. Cool, good luck buddy.
  19. Depends where the pin is, but I do most of my chipping with a PW, SW, or my 60. If I really need to run it a long way, I'll use a 7 iron, but I don't do that as often as some guys will probably say they do. My short game is my strength so I just do what I have a feel for.
  20. My mistake, I'm a righty, I meant strenghtening my grip. I think ball placement is what is my issue. For whatever reason, I started to think I needed it back in my stance for the fade...thinking that further back in my stance, the face would still be open at impact. Too much to remember I guess. I can hit draws okay, and I play the ball forward in my stance, and I just make sure I release the club early and close the face. I sort of came up with this method on my own, so maybe I'm doing it wrong and just figured out a weird way to draw the ball...that very well could be. Are you guys saying I should be trying to be closed at impact for fades too?
  21. If you're pushing your irons, you're coming through open...a lot could be causing that though, so without seeing more I don't want to put ideas in your head. Like I said, looks like a nice swing. You look fairly young, so I'm sure with some instruction and if you put in the time, you'll be single digits soon. Get some more vids up if you can. There are a lot of guys you can learn from here.
  22. No question. That said, you're foolish to think PEDs are out of the question. Considering their prominence in every other sport, from MLB to cycling, to female sprinters...Tiger taking PEDs to help maintain and even add to his already unbelievable talents and abilities is most definitely a possibility. Tiger was also quick to speak out against the need for testing on tour when Gary Player spoke out on the need for it.
  23. It's really hard to analyze a practice swing. Things tend to change when people address the ball, actually put a move on it, and then make impact. If you're really interested in comments, I'd find a way to tape yourself hitting actual shots, and get some head-on angles so the guys who know more than me can comment on your impact position. You should note what your ball does on miss hits too. From what you have here though, it looks like a nice swing. Again, hard to really comment on too much based on what you posted, but for some constructive critique, I'd say your back swing is too fast. Slowing that down and getting a little bit better tempo would probllby go a long way for you. I can't really see your club at the top of your swing either (because of the dark paint on the wall in front of you), but to me it looks like your left wrist is cupped. That opens your clubface...do you push or slice it at all?
  24. I used to be able to play a fade a lot better than I can now (I was never that consistant) but lately the ball has stayed straight on me...perfectly straight actually, so it goes way left of where I'm hoping to fade it to. Not sure what I'm doing different. I set up open, usually go up at least one club, turn my right hand more underneath my club, and I play the ball back in my stance. I'll even try to come across the ball with my swing path a little, but I don't like donig that. Should I weaken my left hand as well? Is it right to play it back in my stance or should I play it forward more?
  25. I usually get up to the course about 40 minutes before my team tees off in our league. I start on the putting green, and work out from there. I don't like hitting the range before my round, I lose my tempo when I do that. So, I about 40 practice putts, then hit some chips, pitches, and flops with my 60 and SW, then I stretch a little bit and take some practice swings with my driver. Seems to be what works best for me.
