  2. I have a temper. Got it from my dad. Not at people, but at situations. Lost keys, dropped glass, missed shot in golf, etc. Short, volatile explosion. Yelling, cursing, throwing objects (not breaking things). I always rationalized it by saying it was cathartic, got it out of my system. What my wife finally made me realize that it wasn't about me, it was about those around me. It made them feel bad, awkward, etc. I finally saw it when I witnessed this type of reaction by a guy I play in a tennis drill class with. I saw my own actions through the eyes of others. It was eye opening. Also, I have had previous heart attacks. Good now, but doctor says to reduce stress. So I did what few do. I changed. I no longer let things get to me. I am calmer. I can't control the action, but I can control my reaction. I get the frustration. But act like a father to be. Your kids watch what you do much more than what you say. My kids, who used to be afraid of making me mad, now say that they are not afraid of my reactions anymore and are proud of my new found restraint. So it is possible to change, you just have to make the decision to do it. Hope Sergio can, but few I know have actually done it. It is hard, but it gets easier the more you do it. Like a swing change, just needs a lot of reps.
  3. Thanks so much!
  4. SKLZ Quickster 8x8 net, can find it on Amazon for under 100.00. Sets up easily. I hit driver down to PW. Have to be careful with wedges, as you can hit it over the net unless you get real close. I use the Real Feel combo system mats. One mat to stand on, one to hit off. Not cheap, but great mats. 197.00. So for around 300.00 you can be set. Both are very durable.
  5. Just started playing the Pro Plus. So far so good. I previously played Bridgestone 330RX. I like the feel around the greens of the Vice ball a little bit better. Short iron shots feel good off the face and are easy to shape in both directions. The ball spins well. I find that with a wedge it checks and releases in a consistent manner. Nice soft feel off the putter. After some more time I will report back.
  6. Good question. It is the same as asking if the hoop diameter in basketball should be changed. As someone who played high school ball and shot baskets starting when I was old enough to get the ball to a 10 ft rim, it is ingrained. Smaller, such as at carnival games feels too small. Bigger would be kinda weird. I have putted on indoor training greens with smaller holes and it makes you concentrate more. But I wouldn't want a smaller hole on the course. So is bigger better? Didn't they do a thing a while back where they made holes really big for beginners? To make the game easier so more people would play? The hole size is what it is and is kind of grandfathered in it's size. Just my .02.
  7. Hole in one a week ago Saturday. Par 3 course in Valencia CA. Broke 90 last summer at the Wailea Blue course on Maui. Shot 85.
  8. Played a 9 hole par 3. Shot 25 with a hole in one on the 5th.
  9. 'if lift weights I will get big and muscle bound and will not be able to do sports that require flexibility and agility..." Wow, is this from the 50's? Ask Dustin if he lifts...you see Rory and Jordan. How about Jason? In order to get to be one of those muscle bound guys at the gym you need several things: 1) Really good genes. Getting really huge is a matter of genetics. Most of us do not have the genes to get a physique like Mr. Olympia. 2) Spend a lot of time lifting....like live at the gym...You need to lift really heavy weights and a lot of them. Specific circuits, really break down the muscle in order to build it up. Most of us will never commit to the hours it would take to get really big. 3) Radically change your diet. Lots of protein, some carbs and little fat. Body builders have boring diets. Boiled chicken, protein shakes, veggies. 4) Supplements (both legal and illegal) So if you or I simply lift as part of our fitness regimen, we will gain strength and likely distance. 30 years ago, what PGA golfer lifted weights? Now what PGA golfer does not? You can be strong and still retain flexibility. Just need to maintain a good stretching routine and also exercise full ROM. Tiger did not lose his game by working out, he did that by changing his swing once too often... Just my two cents...
  10. Lesson. Worked on fully turning through the shot and covering the ball better. Video review, Better by the end of the lesson. Also worked on my putting pre shot routine, refining it for me. After I got home, indoor swings working on what I did at the lesson, reinforcing it.
  11. I realized today that I don't really have a pre shot routine on the putting green. Oh I sort of do the same thing, but not exactly. So I worked on a pre shot routine. -Look at the line behind the ball -Address the ball to the side, slightly too far out -Take two practice strokes, feel the tempo and length of the stroke -Sole the putter behind the ball, along the line of the putt -Move left foot in, then right, settle both feet -Look at the hole, back at the ball -Make the stroke This seems right for me. I did this routine 25 times and I did not forget to do an item. It is not too much or too little. Hope it helps on the greens.
  12. Swing fan warm up. Then indoor swings, 1/2, 3/4 and full. Full shoulder turn. Keep head still. Hip slide/turn. Do all of this correctly and you brush the carpet. Don't and you either miss the carpet or hit it fat.
  13. Putting on my 36" ruler board. Worked on keeping my head still and rocking my shoulders. Focused on the front of the ball and imagined driving a spike from the back to the front on each stroke. Keep the follow through square to the target line.
  14. Warm up with my Orange whip. Worked on a smooth swing tempo. Driver over grass, no ball. Smooth, fast swings. Stay relaxed, but move fast. Then a few swings with a weighted club.
