That I can remember... Best: In my teenage years I was a member at a nearby course. Second hole was about 280yrds from the men's tees but a fairly tricky hole. Between the tee box and the fairway was a large ravine, a good 50ft down filled with rough and long grass. I'd put my tee shot down in the trees next to this ravine so had a completely blind shot, bunker guarding the direct line to the green. I had about 150yrds into the green and just swiped at it mindlessly with a 7 iron not even paying much attention to line/distance etc. Came out just perfect and rolled to within a few feet of the pin. Worst: Topping my ball off the first tee at Bethpage Black a couple of months back. Had played the course a few times but my buddy had brought along a new guy to fill in and billed me as "a really good player". To add fun to the mix a fairly large group had assembled next to the first tee as there was a PGA qualifying event going off the Red course. I teed up another and striped it about 290yrds down the middle of the fairway without looking where it went. Oops.

Any Other Scotty Cameron Enthusiast/Collectors?
Fraser replied to Fraser's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
Funny Scotty Cameron story given the posts from above... In 2008 there was a black special cover for the British Open. It had yellow submarines all over it with three red windows (akin to the dots on SC putters). I saw it for $350 and thought it looked a pretty good deal as only 90 black ones were made and thought I could resell it for quite a bit more given others had sold for about $600 or so. Turns out that one of the submarines had four hearts for windows (an homage to the Beatles) and only 10 of those were made. A kind ebayer had messaged me noting I had it labelled as being less valuable than it was as I hadn't spotted it and it wasn't visible in the original listing photos when I bought it. As these are so rare and usually squirrelled away into collections prices were generally very out of date. I put it on eBay for $2000 with a buy it now price of $2800. Almost immediately I got a $2k bid and message from the bidder asking if he could secure it for the BIN price, not realizing that by bidding he removed that as an option. He did end up being the only bidder but that was quite a result. -

I have a pretty decent size Scotty Cameron headcover collection, the only one that isn't is a Tyson Lamb Christmas Donut. Really nice materials and magnetic closure. -
Oh, I was reading the comment through a completely different lens so to speak! Will have to figure out how to update my WITB....I did upgrade my driver to a Ping G15 a while ago.

Paridon my ignorance...what is "from the 90s"...as in that's what my score would be given my handicap?

Just the Doge and Bitcoin. A good friend who talks investment stuff with me a lot told me one of his buddies has been trying to get him into Safemoon but frankly I'm too lazy. When Doge was up at $0.70+ I was trying to figure out how to short it, preferably on an ultra fashion (I'm a big fan of widely spread ultra ETFs) and the steps to go through, Jesus. I'm too lazy even though I figured I could make a pretty penny off it...

Got a kick reading this thread through....would be interested to know if @JetFan1983 still has "millions" of Dogecoin. I've only played with Bitcoin and Dogecoin these last 6 months or so. Took my typical approach with my fun investing money of buying on down days. My average cost basis on Bitcoin was just under $29k and I sold the lot when it hit $60k for the first time thinking I'd buy in when it dropped to $50k. As it hovered in the $55k-$64k region for a while I ended up buying back in at $55k but have bought some more whilst it's been in the mid $30s. I bought Dogecoin back in January for a laugh. It was $0.008 at the time so just bought a few hundred dollars worth. It exploded within hours and went up by 1000% in 2 days so I sold the lot when it hit 8 cents and watched it tumble in minutes. For a laugh I threw another $100 back into that I'll just leave there for eternity and see what happens with it 😄 A friend of a friend became rather well known because he threw a hard drive away by mistake that had 7500 bitcoins on it. He has made numerous attempts to have the local council allow him to dig in the area of the landfill he believes it'll be., even saying he'd donate half the money to local causes. Man makes last-ditch effort to recover $280 million in bitcoin he accidentally threw out A British man who accidentally threw out a hard drive with a trove of bitcoin wants local city officials to let him search for it in a landfill site.

Got my first eagle....long time coming....325yrd par 4 and drove the middle of the green leaving myself about a 20ft putt on a flat green and it sailed in. Put the next shot (145yrd steep uphill par 3 with blind green) to about 6ft but the tricky green has me lip out...d'oh. The week prior I chipped in for a birdie off the back of the green on the 7th at Bethpage Black. A satisfying way to end the hole after I stuck the tee shot in the rough on the left adding about 50yrds to the hole...

Definitely...just look on eBay... For each headcover release there are often a limited number (maybe 100, 10 or even 1) that have a slight difference and those are incredibly valuable amongst collectors. For a general release headcover (such as for one of the majors) that's new in the bag you're easily looking at anywhere from $85 to $200. For the 1/1, 1/10 etc. and the Tour headcovers you can easily be into the four figure range. If you're looking to offload I'd be happy to consider any! 🙂 -
In the last few months I've started to get more into collecting Scotty Cameron stuff...I've been primarily limiting myself to headcovers and the odd (non-Circle T!) club. I'm more of a fan of the late 1990s/early 2000s clubs though and back in the late 2000s I bought a Pro Platinum Laguna off eBay that had been lightly customized by the previous owner. For years I gamed it with a 2004 British Open headcover...being a Brit and a fan of Scottish Terriers the design was hard to resist. I had long yearned for a limited edition Sterling and Stainless but couldn't justify dropping the best part of $2000 on a putter at that time. A few months ago I learned of the third party putter customizers and one of them Kickstand Putters, could replicate the S&S finish and so I bought a fairly rough early 2000s Pro Platinum Newport Mid Slant off fleabay for about $180. $160 for the refinish and $50 for a new Scotty Cameron grip and I'd replicated something close enough to the S&S to make me very happy! A few times a day I found myself on ebay looking to see what new headcovers have been listed and Current headcover collection, though have three more in the mail enroute! The new putter: Anyone else as stupid as I? ...and yes, I do post on The Cameron Collector etc. but my tastes and collection are completely tame compared to the high five and six figure collections some people have...

Unfortunately I'm already travelling elsewhere in the country, otherwise I'd be sorely tempted. RNK is a skip from RIC airport...

Funny to see this place on here... I lived in Richmond for almost 10yrs up to 2014 and played this course quite a bit until I moved to NY as it was my regular playing partner's favourite area course. Has some nice interesting holes and I certainly wouldn't classify it as hard. For a woodland course it does incorporate some links-esque feeling on some holes rather well! Within a few miles of Royal New Kent there are several other courses of similar style; Brickshire and Viniterra being the closest. The local CBS TV station in Richmond had a screaming deal each year where for $150 you got to play six local courses (including a cart!) and these three were always included. The first year I did it the River Course at Kingsmill (that was an LPGA tour course and former PGA tour course) was included and that would have been $180 on its own! I still travel to Richmond regularly for work and see someone else here is a local but if anyone wants any pointers just shout.

PW, SW and 60 here. I barely use my 60 degree wedge...I don't think I've used it once this year other than at the range.

Former participant back again after a few years break... So I'm trying to find the wood from the trees here, if you'll pardon the pun....I've had the same Mizuno T-Zoid Titanium Insert irons since about 1999...yes, 1999. They're graphite shaft, which caused much amusement from the staff at my PGA Superstore when one of the shafts broke and I had to get it replaced. I hit them rather well and with fairly solid distance, about 150yrds for an 8 iron, 170yrds for 7 iron for example. However, I can't help but feel I may be losing something from my game by not bringing my clubs into, literally, this millennium. I've had family members give me PGA Superstore giftcards slowly over the last few years and am probably ready to shell out about $1000 or so for some irons. However with so many brands and options out there I'm just at a loss about where to even start. I'm not a fan of hybrids or woods much "shorter" than a 3 wood because I do like my irons so would be looking for something close to the 3-SW arrangement I have now but it seems so many club sets don't go out to that. I mean, back when I got these as a teenager it was blades or cavity backs with the former being for lower handicap players. The obvious here is to just go and hit some clubs and see which ones I like best but I feel I have to attempt to narrow the field somewhat or at least go into my visit with some kind of strategy. Any thoughts on where to start here? Thanks! Fraser

Denver Airport...ok, so the artwork is weird but the whole thing is god for a giggle!

Coupling was extremely well written. Friends (which I liked) was practically Sesame Street in comparison. Arrested Development falls into the genius category for me too. I try to watch mainstream American sitcoms (Big Bang Theory et. al.) but just don't get along with them.

Maybe it's just me but I notice that more and more people are using "your" when they mean "you're", it's frankly embarrassing. -
Thanks! Funnily enough since posting in this thread I've decided to sell it! :) I was considering a CL65 AMG last year that had wheels that had been painted black by the current owner. It's all a matter of taste but it looked fuggin' awful IMO! Stock: Messed up:

Talking of hashtags, I read in December that Susan Boyle (weird, Scottish spinster singer) had a new album out at the end of last year and to promote it her PR team tried spreading the hashtag #susanalbumparty Oops. -
