  1. I'm about to buy the iGolf Neo because the price is right, and it will do everything I am looking for. I do not need all of the bells and whistles that a $400 unit has, and considering a 1 year subscription includes 100 courses that you can keep, I think it will work for me. I figure that for a 1 time fee of under $200, I'll be set for a very long time. My concern is that if iGolf does go under, will the GPS unit still work? The satellites will still be there, and the unit will still have the GPS receiver in it. I don't have any reason to believe iGolf will go under, but they certainly do not not have the sponsors or push that Skycaddie, GolfLogix and uPro have. I don't know too much about GPS units, if iGolf does go under but I have all of the files I want saved onto my computer, will it still work?
  2. Does anybody know if the subscription is for a year from the activation date, or to the end of the year?
  3. I had a typical round today, plenty of bad holes with a few good ones. Shot 59 on the front with 6 penalties (two in the water on 9!!!). I tried not to let it get to me, which is hard for me to do. Started the back 9 pretty much the same but finished par bogie par birdie for a 48. I guess I'm consitently inconsistent. It felt good finishing on a good note though, and if I didn't have a bunch of things to do today, I probably would've tried to fit in at least another 9.

    Wife and Golf

Chubber, go for it, just make sure you have something good lined up that night. To be safe, send her to the spa in the morning while you play golf. My anniversary is the same day, 5 years now. We are actually baby-sitting my two nephews on our anniversary so her sister can go to a wedding. Imagine if I said we had to watch my brothers' kids on our anniversary!! Anyway, I'm playing golf while her mom comes over and helps. We're going away the next weekend to leaf peep. She is cool with me playing almost as much as I want, as long as I spend equal time doing something 'fun' with her. But then again, we don't have kids yet, and I am sure that will change when we do.
  6. I played with an old guy once, where every single shot (besides greenside), he put the ball on a tee. I though it was strange, but that's the way he plays. I got paired up with him as a single, and didn't care what he did. I simply wouldn't play against someone like that for money. I suck at golf, but I count every stroke. I often wonder about people that say they started this year and now shoot in the 80s.
  7. Good timing I guess, MSNBC has an article today about Quilted Northern introducing 3 ply paper on Monday. I can't imagine it's necessary, but I'll give it a wipe. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26759554/?gt1=43001

    The Hammer

MSRP $299, WAS $99, Now buy it for $29!!!!! http://www.heartlandamerica.com/brow...roduct_reviews I love the review, 'the best club you can buy for this price'. It's all about marketing, and these guys are selling clubs, and making money.
  9. Technically it is still illegal, however the laws are not enforced. Hookers are legal.
  10. The Mercer County Golf Academy is pretty good. I took a couple lessons there, and it's helped my game a bit. I could use a few more though. It's located at the Princeton Country Club. http://mercercountygolfacademy.com/
  11. I don't think you two will see eye to eye on this, and can fill several more pages of the same banter. What about cannabis in particular? Legalizing cannabis would be a good thing. Many studies show that it has medicinal value, especially for those that have cancer. Smoking anything is bad for you, but it doesn't always have to be smoked to be taken. As far as recreational use is concerned, I do not see it as any worse than alcohol or tobacco, and I actually personally think alcohol us much worse, yet is totally legal. For someone to do it in their own home should be legal. When you get in a car or operate other machinery, that's when you're crossing the line, and measures should be taken to deal with offenders that do so. As for industrial use, hemp is an incredible product and should definitely be legal. Industrial hemp plants do not have any near the levels of THC that could get someone high. As for heroin, cocaine, lsd, etc, I see no need for it to be legal in any way.
  12. I'd tell him/her, why not? It would be a shame for someone to have a fake tour burner, have it play like crap, and they unjustifiably lose faith in Taylor Made woods. It might ruin their day, but at least they'll know the truth. If I had a fake club, I'd want to know about it. Now if you're the type that'll rub salt in a wound, than you shouldn't bother.
  13. My 5 wood is an old persimmon Wilson Sam Sneed, i don't use it all that much but I love it. I have the 1 and 3 as well, but they've long since been replaced. With my halo 2i, I don't use the 5w all that often either, but it's a great club and stays in the bag.
  14. New guy here, I am a lousy golfer but love the game. I was in your situation last year and bought a set of Cleveland CG4's at the end of the year at Dicks. 3i to PW was $400. They are a major improvement over my 20 year old Wilson forged hand-me-downs. I hit several different clubs on their practice range and went with the CG4's because they felt best to me. The TM rac's were a close second, but I liked the Clevelands better. When I stared looking, I was dead set on Callaways, but after hitting a bunch of clubs, they just weren't the irons for me. If you haven't decided on a set and can wait a little longer, most stores will have end of year sales to make room for the new stuff. If you're going to buy new clubs, hit a bunch of them and see what you like best. Ultimately there will be one or two sets that you like best, whether it be the club itself or the way you feel holding the club. Confidence always helps, and is what I think helped me shave about 10 to 15 strokes this year. Last year I was always in the 115 to 120 range, and this year I'm at about 102-103, and broke 100 four times so far. Hopefully by this time next year, I'll consistently be in the low 90's or better.
