As complicated as this game is, I still cannot believe there is no term or formal name for this great accomplishment. heck, hole in one on a par 5 has 3 names, condor, double albatross and triple eagle.
-
Is there a formal name for someone hitting all GIRs and FIRs? e.g. perfect game in baseball...
-
you should patent it before cleveland steals your idea and give it to boo weekley

Interesting test data here: http://www.golftek.com/perfAchiever4.html I hit 185 no roll...

only nice weather, so I can bloody PLAY!!!!

I've gone from 907 D2 (9.5) to 909 D3 (8.5) and it was one of the best decision I've made yet. 909 D3 definitely has lower spin rate and you will notice minimum distance loss, especially when you get 20+ mile face wind.

Hooking the ball - drills to limit my release
se7en replied to JoshKeller's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I would make sure that I'm standing tall, not hunched at the setup then I would probably try to think of Tarzan beating on the chest (thanks to iacas!!) through the impact and lead the follow through with my wrist, not the club head (imagine you're chipping) -
I would seek more specific game plan rather than mechanical tips on the swing. If it's stats you're looking for when you walk off 18th green, what's the allowance per each hole? Before I start my round, I'd like to set allowance on entire 18th then concentrate on each hole, then take my stats against that. Not focusing on what's my fairway hit, GIR, putts, etc.. focusing on what was my miss, whether or not it was common miss, if it was common miss, was it right/left/long/short. By tackling my weakest, I'm one step closer to overcome that slump. I know I can't be Sergio nor Mcilroy, IMHO game of golf comes down to numbers at the end of the day.

"F****!!! Kim jung il!!!" when someone actually holes in one

You are absolutely right, I do have old habit of lateral take away, used to be the whole body :( It indeed feels much better if I concentrate keeping the weight on the inside of my right foot but then again the more I think about the weight the more my lower body locks through the release.
-
Earlier this year I drilled on initiating down swing by sliding. Since then I only played once or twice in a month and now my upper and lower body are completely out of sync. I plan on fixing this during my upcoming hibernation. Any inputs are appreciated!

I would throw in a 60 lob wedge. BTW, I recommend scratch!!

I own pair of Adidas tour 360 II that are just not water proof. I knew Adidas leaks the most out of any manufacturer but boy....not after 3 holes. During my last round, both of my feet were completely wet by 6th on sunny morning with some dew out on the course. I've been reading on and off comments about this and seems like either they leak right away, or not at all. Has anyone here experienced the same with top of the line waterproof Adidas?? lol

My consistency I find in myself is my breathing pattern and I try to sync up my swing with it by initiating the swing at the end of deep exhalation.

sounds like you are hitting the ball when you putt, instead try to determine your roll first by releasing the ball through the impact. Once you feel longer contact, you should feel more confident about the distance.

Shaft PUREing, Puring, or Spining
se7en replied to GreensDruid's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I suppose this could just be mental factor however 9 out 10 guys who got their stix *pured* did notice difference in performance. I guess I'll get this done for my next set (successor of mp-67s ) Thanks all for your comments, folks. -
AGHH! Help me become a better putter!

Have you tried belly putter? you'll see your flaws quickly on the short range putts. At least, that's how I fixed my stroke. -
when you do controlled greenside checkshots, how do you guys position the ball and club face? I keep the club face as is from my normal wedge ball position then just move the ball back approx. 1 1/2 ball length back depends how much I want ball to check and just hit down. I however read from some article that opening club face as much as you move the ball back is more affective any thoughts on this, pls?

1. have 18 putt round 2. break 80 3. enjoy the game

Shaft PUREing, Puring, or Spining
se7en replied to GreensDruid's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
I'm trying to make my sinc most consistent possible, by all means...and thinking about puring my shafts. I use s300 now and tried out rifle6.0 and loved it. do you guys think getting new rifle6.0 and puring them is worth? -
slight different characteristics in these two...I, personally, like Tiger better for his aggressiveness

Software quality assurance engineer...been breakin things apart then put it back together since I could walk :)

I also have 1st gen circa 3, unfortunately after one rainy round, it's got putter cancer (speckled rust) during holiday, I carefully sanded down the rust and it looks/feels even better :) good luck in new season and hunt down some more birdies!!
