1. ^^^^^^^^^ This. The Top Flite Gamer is awesome. jack
2. I know a few older guys that shoot from 70 - 76 for 18 holes. Their swing looks like someone trying to throw a sack of dog food into the back of a pickup truck. Grip: left hand weak, right hand strong. Club face closed 30° to address the ball. No pivot or weight shift, horrible slide, and they raise up at impact. How do they do it???? Don't know but they are consistent, play the same course, and putt good because they are familiar with THOSE greens. These guys go to another course, and they shoot 90. jack
3. I can get up , work, do everything ok in the mornings. Not golf. I do better with 1 o'clock or later tee time. Early play doesn't work. My timing is off, balance, eye coordination, etc. I feel as if I'm going to hurt my muscles, or over stretch something. I've tried exercising and stretching, etc., but it doesn't help. jack
4. The NXT tours perform great for me. The Bridgestone e5, and e6 are great alternatives. Recently, I tried the Top Flite Gamer tours. That is my ball until something better shows up. They were on sale $30 for 2 dozen. Jack
5. My local course doesn't charge for my wife to ride along. (Non golfer). If my 11 year old son and I are playing, and she takes a separate cart, they charge $5 for 18 holes. She also takes a lot of nice pics and sends them to the course owners wife, to put on their Facebook page.
6. You need to buy that 3 wood. Also check out some drivers, same model , same shaft. You might find a driver that hits and feels the same, with 25+ yards distance. jack
7. Out of 1-1/2 to 2 hours practice, 1/2 hour is wedges. My mid game is where I need help. 150 -165 yard range, down to 125 yards. My driver isn't predictable right now, but it is staying in fairway. The second shots/recovery type are my biggest problem. Hitting low shots from under trees, side hill lie, uphill and downhill. If I could get my 2nd shot within 10 foot of the green on par 4's, then I could chip up and 1 or 2 putt. I work on chipping, but don't spend too much time there, yet. Jack
8. I try to get my son to just shave the grass. Usually, with wedges we both take beaver pelts. It used to be that I would take a "Welcome Mat"sometimes. After a wrist injury a few years ago, I try to pick it clean or just trim the grass. Jack
9. All of the mounds are gone and the greens are healthy. I asked the greens keeper about the little mounds and bugs. He said it was some kind of bore-worm?????? Thanks for all the help on the rules for removing the mounds. Jack
10. iacas, Thanks for the help. I'm going to work on exercises to help my swaying. Maybe I can get an updated video in a week , so that you guys can check my swing for improvement. Thanks for all of your help, Jack
11. Then, I'm not too far, out of whack. I always see the hump on my back and think things are totally messed up. thanks for the help, Jack
12. LL91, You are correct on that ball flight, in my video. I was thinking of another video that I didn't use. In the video above in went out far left and came back to the middle a little bit. It was a very ugly shot. Thanks, Jack
13. Thanks 14ledo81, Are you referring to spine angle in the video from the back? Jack
14. In the video from the rear, it was a pull. About 30 foot left of aiming point. Straight left. On the sway, should I go to the (swing in a barrel ) routine? Putting rods in the ground on each side, to stop the sway? Thanks, Jack
15. I've been Playing Golf for: 20 years on and off. My current handicap index or average score is: 95 for 18 holes. My typical ball flight is: Extremely high. The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Hooks [rule] Videos: Here are a couple of vids of my swing. Any suggestions? I have pretty good distance, need to get reliable and consistent. My bad shots are hook. Normal shape slight draw. To me, I look too upright, back not straight (hump behind neck), and swing plane appears upright. In my work clothes, both videos, so not looking very sporty.Lol
16. I have mine in pocket on vibrate. Being self employed, gotta have it. If someone calls (they usually text), can buy enough time to finish the round. I have a welding/machine shop. When companies break down, I have to go. Jack
17. Dave, What is the loft on your 3 wood? Since you hit it well, maybe you could get a driver between the 3 wood loft, and the loft of your present driver. I've read about some of the low spin driver heads, and shafts. There is lot's of info about the "Black Tie", being for the big hitters. Go somewhere that can fit you for a driver, and/or let you hit all the clubs until you find what you want. Jack
18. Dave, That is very impressive!!!! Get someone to help fine tune you a little, and you'll be able to get to where you want to be. I'm curious to your follow thru. It stops before your hands and club wrap around you. I'm not criticizing it, and it may not be possible due to physical limitations, muscle bulk, etc. If I knew more about it I wouldn't struggle the way I do. Possibly, you could use a 2xx flex or stiffer shaft. Again, I'm just throwing out things that I've heard from others. looking good, Jack
19. Check over on the thread about 140 mph swing speed. I posted a pic ( with the red lines) showing to line up on the ball. Aim and swing at the empty tee. Let the ball on the forward tee get in the way, and you will be hitting up on it. Jack
20. Here is an updated pic with alignment lines. It might help someone that isn't a member here and is just surfing the internet.
21. That pic was taken on an angle. The ball in the pic is lined up off of my left toe.I should have taken another pic from straight at front or from above. Jack
22. Here are some pics of what I was saying. Put a tee in the ground where you normally put the ball when hitting driver. Tee up a ball about 4 inches in front of the empty tee. Swing like normal at the empty tee, and let the other tee and ball get in the way. Tee the ball higher than you usually do. You might have to mess with distance between the tees. Jack
23. I can't remember if the worms had fuzz on them or not. Next time up there I'll check for them. We played 9 holes Sunday and there were only 3 or 4 mounds per green. I'll get a pic of the critters. Jack
24. I'll take some pictures to help explain it a little better.
25. I have a cousin that worked for a large oil company. They would fly to Japan on business. He said it was cheaper for them to fly over to Hawaii, and play golf, th3n go back to Japan for business. This was around 1998, so I don't know their exact situation, company jet, etc. Jack
