  1. lol, pretty rough childhood???? His parents worked all day so that he had the chance to live a carefree life and just golf all day. I wished I had a rough childhood like that. Everything he has he pretty much owes to his father. If his father didn´t make him practice, Anthony would be pumping your gas today. Duh, of course he can. He´s a millionaire. He doesn´t strike me as a guy that has the competitive killer attitude of "I´d rather die than lose to you". To me his attitude sounds more like "I don´t need to win. I just need to make enough money so that I can continue this lifestyle". The latter unfortunately makes up 99% of the guys on tour nowadays.
  2. Sean Foley is the best golf instructor that has ever lived. He is Tiger´s coach. That´s all the credibility he needs. After all they call him the Dalai Lama of golf for a reason. Anyone that talks smack about him just doesn´t understand the deep revolutionary thoughts that he is trying to communicate. The man is a pure genius!!! lol, no in all seriousness I think he´s full of shi.t and a complete douche.
  3. the funny thing is tiger isn´t even big or that in shape. Anyone with a somewhat athletic base can look like him within 3 months of hitting the gym and eating right.
  4. Handicap or breaking par doesn´t mean much. You can have a +4 handicap only playing a 6200yard muni course with your buddies everyday. Play a different, harder course and you won´t be able to break 80.
  5. One of the most overhyped players out there. With his work ethic he will soon lose his tour card.
  6. I don´t understand what that green line is supposed to mean. Do you honestly believe that´s where his knee is on the backswing? Haha, this discussion is pointless. There is just no winning against you guys.
  7. Hogan´s leg did straighten a bit, but if Hogan had video back in the days he would have worked on keeping his knee more flexed. Tiger maintains the same knee flex he had at adress. Watch this clip. His right knee doesn´t come off that line. Go to 1:21.
  8. Oh yes, you´re right. I´m lacking credibility because I didn´t send you a message to get an instructor tag. Well let´s change that. I´m actually Ben Hogan returned from the grave and I know every single secret about the golf swing. I also have a +9 handicap. Credibility issue solved. That has gotta be the funniest thing I´ve ever heard. If the hands didn´t raise from address your hands would be at around hip height at the top of the backswing position. This is golf, not discus throw. Head movement is the natural result of a proper weightshift. When you load up on your right side the head naturally moves to the right. Just like in every other athletic sport. Somewhere...Curtis Strange is crying now. Neither did hogan completely straighten his right leg on the backswing. Why do you think he said you should pivot around your right leg and use it as a post? He didn´t kick his right knee in at address so that it could straighten. He wanted to keep it flexed. No, they don´t. Have you ever heard of the X Factor? Duh, of course his right knee is less flexed than his left knee. The left knee is always gonna move a little closer to the ball as the hip turns. His right leg is as flexed as it was at address though.
  9. You just proved my point. Look at Ernie´s picture and tell me his knee is not flexed. All the other guys try to maintain the flex in their knees, too. Kaymer´s leg straightens somewhat and I know from first hand that he´s working with his instructor to maintain more knee flex. Westwood´s leg straightens and he´s a good ballstriker despite of it not because of it. Phil has more of an old school swing with tons of compensations and he´s terrible off the tee. Not a good example.
  10. The swing has evolved. There was no real golf instruction back in the days. It was also taught back in the day to lift your left heel on the backswing, make a huge move off the ball, get the hands high at the top and then drive your legs as hard as you can to get in a reverse C position. According to your logic we should all still be swinging that way because the all time greats did it. Golf instruction has evolved that´s why todays players are simply better.
  11. I´m a certified PGA pro from Germany. The head has to move half a head width to the right on the backswing to give the hands time to lower on the downswing. Nobody on tour except for the S&T; guys that are rarely in contention straightens their right leg on the backswing. 99% of the players on tour try to maintain their right knee flex.
  12. Oops, I forgot this was a stack and tilt forum.
  13. Swing is way too flat. Work on keeping your hands more in front of your body while making a good shoulder turn.
  14. Your right leg straightens on the backswing. Work on maintaining the flex in your right knee on the backswing. Your head movement is fine. The reason why you often hit fat shots and pulls is because the club is coming in too steep on the downswing. The reason it´s coming in steep is because on the backswing you´re rotating your forerams too much resulting in the club being too flat and laid off. The tendency from there is to get steep on the way down. The two things you should work on are not rotating your forearms so much on the backswing and maintaing the flex in your right leg.
  15. so... are you proud of him?
  16. Swing is full of compensations. Doesn´t mean he won´t have a good career though. Nicklause´s swing was also full of compensations and he did alright...
  17. His boyfriend must be proud of him.
  18. Good, Westwood has the personality of a wet carrot anyways. He doesn´t move the needle.
  19. No offence, but you have a typical slicer swing that 95% of amateurs have. Your first move is rolling the club open with your hands followed by taking the club inside, then lift it and come over the top. Work on getting your takeaway on plane. When you take the club inside like you do, you´ll have a tendency to come over the top. For you it should feel like you´re taking the club back way outside and then dropping it inside on the downswing.
  20. LPGA players hit way up on the ball to get more distance and a perfect launch angle because their swing speeds are so low. PGA tour players hit about 3 degrees down on it to get more control because they basically use the same swing they use for their irons which adds more consistency. Hence they have higher lofted drivers. For example if you compare Phil and Tigers distance off the tee, Phil hits it past Tiger although Tigers swing speed is a lot higher than Phils when he really goes after it. That´s because Phil tees it up high and hits up on it to maximize distance and Tiger goes more for control and hits down on it. Tiger is a very good driver of the golf ball while Phil barely hits 50% of his fairways. (Tiger was ranked 9th for total driving in 2009 and Phil was T 108th)
  21. I agree with you. Exactly and yet she is a very humble human being. Just listen to some of her quotes: "Hopefully, I will be able to play the Ryder Cup one day, that would be awesome and I think it is totally possible" "My favorite player is Tiger Woods. I think I can beat Tiger when I’m 20. It’s a life goal." ...IMO these are pretty realistic goals. She has already proven that she dominates womens golf ( a whopping 1 win) and she is a very nice person because she is waiting for Tiger to beat Jacks record and then wants to join the PGA and win every major from then on. Everyone just imagine for a second the pressure she has to deal with. I believe even a Tiger Woods would falter under the pressure of knowing that if he screwed up his next shot he´d get grounded by his parents and they´d send him to bed without reading him a bedtime story. In all honesty I believe there should be a special "The Big Wiesy Rules of Golf Book" which says it´s allowed to ground your club in a bunker or quit tournaments whenever you play bad. Of course these special rules would only apply to Michelle Wie. After all she deserves special treatment since she is basically in hell, but keeps going. You go girl!!!!
  22. I can´t see how anyone could be rooting for a blatantly arrogant, spoilt, unintelligent cheater like Michelle Wie. It´s beyond me. And seriously, a 6200 yard course with flat greens and no rough doesn´t really make for great Television.
  23. The course has over 1200 bunkers. There were notes EVERYWHERE that if your ball comes to rest on sand you are in a bunker. The rules are the rules. If you are not playing by the rules you are not playing golf. The only one to blame is DJ himself. If the same thing had happened to Kaymer instead of DJ nobody would´ve given a damn. Case closed.
  24. There used to be a 300+ yards par 3 on a course that hosted a US Open.
  25. LoL, the guy hits a golf ball for a living. He is Tiger Woods, not Jesus Christ. It amuses me when people think he owes them anything. His job is not to be a saint or a role model, it´s to crush his opponents and win major champiionships. I´d rather listen to a guy that tells it how he sees it and let´s you know how he feels than some fake dbag running around smiling all day. I´m surprised TW still gives interviews after everyone ripped on him because of his "scandals". Seriously, what the man does in private is nobody´s business and he doesn´t owe the fat slobs that watch him on TV anything.
