Got the book yesterday and went to the range today. Took a few balls but I really had some nice hits. My mid irons were really good as i moved up I had a little trouble but hey it has the first day and I loved seeing the divot after the ball with my 7 iron. I hit 7 or 8 in a row that flew about the same distance and really close. Had some trouble with the driver but I will keep at it, I think it had to do with the wider stance and keeping the weight of my left foot. All in all i am pretty excited with the results. I had my good shots and my bad but the bad was due to me not shifting my waist toward the target so that's my main focus now.

I my go test run a few and see how they go. i am always willing to give anything a shot.

I have tried a 11° and a 10.5° and loose huge distance. I get only about 210 with a driver due to an extremely high flight path. my brother has a 10.5° R7 and I used it at the driving range and lost 20 plus yards and his flight path with his R7 was the same or close as mine with the 8.5° My main issue is lack of a constant good swing path I have a really bad habit of tucking my right elbow on the down swing and causing my face to open at impact. when i hit it good and really focus on not doing that i have a slight draw on driver. I can play 7-8 holes pretty good (due to that i play a lot of 9 hole because of time) Couple weeks ago i was setting on the 9th tea box and needed a par to shoot 41. i wound up with a 9 due to not focusing and hit O.B twice on the tee box and it took me 8 days to figure out what i was doing. My flight path will go so high that when my ball hits the green it will basically leave a crater with the ball inches away.

I am a 22.5 handicap and my average is 245- 250. I have only marked one close to 300 this year and it was 291 and it sounded good coming off the club. I use a sonnocaddie GPS unit to track my distance since it has a marker for ball distance. I just wish I could stay out of the O.B. area and maybe I could drop my HC some. 2 out of 9 holes I blow up with rough drives.

Well after reading a lot of these threads and seeing that my current swing is hit and miss I am going to give this a try. I just ordered the book and will have it Wednesday and a new swing adventure will begin! I am just looking for a little more consistency in my swing and really tired of the fat shots and random slice.

Was multiple but i purchased Phil's DVD and I have been using the SW for almost all hits around the green. He explains that you can use multiple but he uses 1 so I have been following his teaching to see if I improve any.

I have a membership at a local Muni and there was a lot of drinking on the course.YOu could pull up to the tee box and see beer bottles laying around. a new manager took over and now you can't drink and is strickly enforced by the police department since the corse is located in the park and now all players must have sleeves so were moving up in the world. Wpuld love to join the local semi-private coruse here but the muni is half the price and I am kind of cheap :)

Tiger is a great talent that is just not playing well (understandable) but how many Ryder cup teams has Tiger been on that the US won. He has only been on 1 (1999). Tiger has been on 6 Ryder cup teams and the US has only been able to win 1 with Tiger on the team. I could understand people being shocked that Pavin said this but its not like Tiger has put the past teams on his shoulders and pulled out some wins for the team. Out of the last 7 Ryder cups the US won 2. 1 with Tiger (1999) and one without (2008)

I wear what ever matches my shirt. I usually wear UK logo Hats (big Univ of Kentucky fan) but not 100%. I will also swap from Cap to visor it just according how hot it gets here. I really don't care to much what other people wear on there head but i won't were a golf related hat that I don't use anything that they make. I play at a municipal corse and all that is required is sleeves on the shirts so I don't look much at attire. I like to dress in a polo and shorts but I will play with pretty much anyone as long as there not rude or drunk ( our course had to ban beer because it got so bad)

Got the DVD s in yesterday and practice the basic concept in the back yard and was pretty impressed. I went and played a quick 9 and I was just fractions of an inch from chipping one in and a couple inches on another. I have to say just those few minutes of practice really helped. I also sucked at putting and tried his method and sunk a few 8 footers ( one for Birdie). Have to say this was worth the cost.

Well after reading this thread I decided to go ahead and get this video. The one part of my game that i have no confidence in is my short game. Maybe this is the key for me to break 90. I have been hitting my irons and even my driver pretty decent but 50 yards in I pretty much suck.

It's really starting to click. I had a hard time braking 50 since i read Ben's book but went out and play 18 today and shot a 92 which is the best i have done since I started playing again last September. The scary part is if I didn't miss 3 4 foot putts for par an 3 holes i actually could have broke 90 which I am really excited about. I noticed my slice going away and most of my drives had a slight draw to them which now my biggest problem is getting my the mental block to aim more left to play the slice i use to have but that's a problem I am happy to work on! -
I was doing the old foot wedge because I wasn't worried about my HC but now that I am wanting to see what I really shoot I try very hard to play by the rules as best as i can. I would now play a unplayable and take a stroke. About the only thing I do that is not 100% in the rules is if I hit a shot and think its not lost or didn't go OB but was then I would drop close to were it went out and play it like stroke and distance (so if hit driver and lost I would be hitting 4). I don;t want to slow play if course is crowded and if it wasn't then I would go back and hit off the tee again.

I have one that extends to 6ft that I keep in my bag. there are 2 many people at my local muni that just go out to search for balls so getting more than a few is a good score. I mainly use it to get my chunked drives out of a couple water hazards i hit over but if I see one and not holding up others then i snag it for the shag bag.

Every other day! If I am hitting fairways then my putting and chipping stroke is gone but if I am searching for my ball in knee deep grass and not hitting greens then I can put and chip. Golf is so predictable for me I can tell what kind of day i am going to have after the first hole

I play in one every year. A company we do business with holds one every year and invites all its customers to make a team of 4. They give away prizes every year (usually a sleeve of balls, gloves or divot tool) no matter if you win or lose. Its a blast to play with your co-workers and a free round of golf and get feed. I don't play them often but the one a year is pretty fun.

I used the baseball grip when I started back up and anything else felt wierd but after practicing with the overlap for a week or so I could never go back to the baseball grip. Hogan states in the book that your hands need to be as close to each other as possible to make them work as one unit. That was the biggest reason i changed and 110% glad i did. and enduro is right, I tried the exact position of Hogans right hand on the grip and I still had a weak slice but i turned it over the the left just a little and now right down the center. Everyone is different and you need to tweak it a little to fit you own swing. I love this book! -
How dare y'all doubt the power of the Hammer POWWWW

The Drive that Garcia hit that bounced off a spectators head sound pretty rough . Glad he was alright but the sound of that made me cringe.

I picked this book up along with Ben Hogan's five lessons. I haven't touched this one yet because I have been working on the lessons in Bens book and starting my second pass through of 5 lessons but I will be starting on this one here soon probably within the next week. -

Just got done reading it a couple days ago and I can see a difference. Its going to take awhile since I am plagued with a bunch of bad habits but when I do get everything right man it feels good and the ball flight looks great. I am going to start my second pass through and slow down some and really hit the practice routines that he suggest doing for a week and then move to the next. Man I am excited! -
None, not even close but I am still trying hard and practicing every day.

Mine is replace divot but since I am a member of a Muni. most people don't replace or fix the greens. Heck I even seen a couple young guy park on the fringe of the green with there carts. I try to replace as best I can and fix extra on the putting greens. I figure I will help as much as i can until I can afford to go to the better club in my town hopefully after next year.

I play to get better but as posted above I would still play if i hit my ceiling but I would still always try to improve even if I wasn't making any ground. Its just the thought of trying to get better.

I picked up this book last night and read through the grip portion before I went to bed and was amazed of how awful my grip was. I tried the overlap and it was never comfortable so i went back to the interlock not knowing I was doing it wrong. I followed it exactly in the book and I must say I love how it feels and have been practicing it since I read that chapter. I couldn't sleep so i got up at the crack of dawn and read the next chapter on positioning and Stance and again I was nothing like the book stated so I practiced into my net and there is a lot of promise. I am going to hit up the driving range here soon and really take my time with the grip and setup. So far it was the best 12 bucks I have spent on golf in awhile
