  1. Spin rate is near enough but the launch angle is too low, it needs to be up around 12 degress, no surprise it's better than the standard TM shaft though.
  2. I want a FJ Long sleeve half zip in white but they are a US only product, makes sense when we play winter golf for 9 months of the year in the UK!
  3. Why dont you soft step the shafts? If they are taper tips its easy.
  4. I made a similar move about 14 months ago. I changed to an all Titleist bag less my Taylor Made Rosso Spyder putter I got some ribbing from friend and got it in my head I wanted a Scotty. The easiest progression was a Newport Square back. Got really used to that then wanted to got the next step and got a Newport 2. Love my NP2 and put better with this than any mallet. Use both for a while in case you have to spend some time getting used to it
  5. Played yesterday, it was about 1ºc so about 35ºf fairways were frozen, greens had snow on them you had to land an approach about 25y short and bounce it on, one of my playing partners bounced one in the middle of a frozen pond and landed on the green! It made no difference what ball you played, ended up with a yellow Donay, which don't exist in the US I don't think, but if they did they would be about $4 a dozen!
  6. Hard stepping is where you replace the shaft with the next on in the set, wouldn't work for graphite though. example. Hard stepping requires a full set of shafts as the PW shaft is fitted to the 9 iron then cut to 9 iron length, 9 into the 8, 8 into the 7 and on. Soft stepping can be done without buying a full new set of shafts, it just requires a new shaft for your longest club ie if you carry a 4 iron you buy a 3 iron shaft and fit it to the 4 iron 4 into 5 etc. Not tried it though.
  7. Where you fitted for your driver? Is the x flex not too strong? You have a nice swing and tempo but I am not sure from these videos if it is x flex fast.
  8. I was playing 2 weeks ago, walked ahead of one of my 3 ball, he was in center of fairway about 100y short of the green. I walked up to my ball in the left hand first cut about 80 yards ahead and about 35 yard wide of the flag. He hit his ball well left and I felt it brush my hat and then land in a bunker. I looked back and he said " I new it was going to be close but couldn't remember what to shout!!!! My fault for walking in front but we promote ready golf at my club so I guess we all take risks to speed up play.
  9. i have similar stats to you and play regular length flex and lie in my irons. What is your true driver distance (not the down wind one that landed on the cart path) and what club would you use to hit 150 yards?
  10. I only go to the range now to keep swinging or work on swing changes. You can't work on yardages for the obvious reason and trajectory isn't really worth working on as the spin rates from range balls is very different also. Yes if you are hooking slicing there is a fair chance you will be with a real ball. I can hit my driver around corners at the range but rarely miss the fairway by much with a ProV1. I don't understand how you can be fitting for new equipment at a range due to the balls, unless the fitter can quantify the difference in spin / distance and take it into account.
  11. What weight shaft is in the R9? I use the 909 F2 15.5 and it's not the most forgiving, plus on of the least used in my bag.
  12. Not sure if it's been said but cant be arsed going through 14 pages. Gynecologist's assistant. Just shaved the hole.
  13. You just made that up surely?
  14. How many frames per second is the Iphone 4? isn't it 30, which isn't really enough to get prescise, unless V1 do something to improve the FPS?
  15. Just ordered my Titleist 910 D2 driver 9.5 with Aldila RIP shaft, should get it about Nov 18th. They are in very limited supply in the UK so am very pleased to get one this early.
  16. sorry I thought you were an adult complaining of playing from the yellows not a junior wanting to play from the whites. I think it is normal that juniors would play their comps from the yellows.
  17. Ok. You play congu handicap rules as I do in the UK, but you are GUI. Are you saying that for the winter all competitions are from the yellow tees? As that is normal, our winter league is non-qualifying for handicap (unless the committee cuts someone on general play), with that in mind it means the juniors play from the the yellows all winter as do all the men. If you are saying that from the start of next season all men's comps will be from the yellow tee then that is a different matter, unless your course is a monster. I played at Druids Heath last year and we played the greens all winter (in front of yellows) but people still couldn't break par. I couldn't stay at a course that plays yellow tees all season. Also most clubs only allow juniors with handicaps lower than 18 to enter the men's comps. Have a chat with a committee member to see how it came about, perhaps the information has been relayed poorly?
  18. Just ordered my 910 D2 9.5 with Aldila RIP Stiff. Interesting that the RIP and Project X shaft they will offer are real shafts not a "for Titleist " version. I am a equipment junkie and would want this driver if it underperformed against the 909 so don't really care what the Titleist haters on here say, they are welcome to out drive me with their TM's.
  19. I added a 60 during the summer with mixed results while I was living in Ireland and playing Druids Heath. The heath has 16 elevated greens so pitching had to be very accurate or they would roll off the sides. I moved back to Cheshire at the end of the summer and rejoined my old course which is much sorter and the 60 was used alot more. I spent about 4 evenings with it on the practice area at my club and really worked on a solid strike from 60yards and now use it every round. I think that wind is the number one reason for me not to use it. That all said my old 56 will probably go in the bag for winter to replace my 54 and 60 as I will be carrying my bag.
  20. Defiantly seen the ends on ebay, they were about £15
  21. Ok, yes as you suppose the wedges are meant to go different distances dependent on their loft. You are about 15 yards less than me with the PW so I would expect you to hit a 52 about 90, 56 about 75 and the 60 about 50 yards all with a comfortable swing. Get a club maker to check the lofts on your wedges they may be out?
  22. Not sure aout the voodoo shaft but I have a 909 F2 15.5º and it also will go left more than anything else in the bag. I either play for it if the trouble is down the right or set up a little open to produce a nice high power fade.
  23. Best tip I have ever had on bunker play is green side shots, short back swing and accelerate through, longer shots longer back swing but keep accelerating through the ball. You might also want to try a 54º from the sand to gain a little distance.
  24. I this year have joined a very long undulating course, wouldn't say hilly although 15 and 17 are uphill (Druids Heath). In April I finally invested in an electric trolley and posted 2 of my lowest rounds there using it. When did you last see a pro carry his own bag? Not because he can afford a caddy it is because golf is hard enough without lugging a bag on your back. I have a Titleist TPI instructor and he is making his juniors trolley so they don't get back problems in later life. Go with an electric trolley if you have the funds. You won't regret it.
  25. I was recently on holiday in Naples, FL. Over the 2 weeks I bought ...... 7 GP multi-compound grips in white 3 GP Tour wraps in white 2 WinnLite firm, white Pack of orange tees Orange Titleist Trucker cap Under Armour white belt white Trionz Orange Sharpie pens White Oakley Flak Jackets (G30 lense) Then on my return to the Ireland. My Titleist RC10 cart bag was Faulty so got a credit on that and replaced it with a S83 Tour bag (looks amazing but not as practical as the cart bag) Then traded my Scotty Cameron Square back 1 for a Newport 2.
