Stock shafts vs. After-market shafts
wedge player replied to Slappy9's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I'm only writing these to keep the record straight. I find it amusing and yet pathetic all at the same time when people talk about what stock shaft to put into their new heads. Granted, I know many on here are young, with little spending money to go out and spend a few more bucks on something better. Stock shafts are garbage. I love when people talk about their RIP, Aldila, or even any shaft that reads "co-engineered." These shafts are worth no more than $2 (and that's the truth). They are VERY inconsistant from one shaft to the other with exact flex and gram weight. So you think you are buying a 65 gram S shaft? Think again. These are not the real deal. After-market shafts like Mitsubishi Kai'li (btw Titleist lovers, your Kai'li 72 is junk...Mitsubishi doesn't make a 72 gram shaft), Attas T2, Motore Speeder (the real thing), S1 and S2 Series made by Accra, and 'Ahina are just some common aftermarket shafts names that out perform ANY stock shaft. -A little insight- If your shaft costs less than $180...it is a joke. In my opinion, the shaft is more important than the head itself. -
your follow through looks to umm compact,i guess thats the word im looking for.i would suggest you try to get some more arm extension through your follow through

That made me laugh pretty good i needed that.

i have just come back aftera 5 month layoff and cannot find anything good from how i used to be able to play, but thats a differant story. When i used to play good golf i would occasionally take 2-3 days off to refresh my mind, any longer though and i would face some swing flaws that could lead to a lot of negative thinking. So i would recommend some time away from the game but no longer than 3 days between picking up a club.just my opinion though

well my fellow sandtrappers as of friday i will no longer be an active member mostly due to internet lossage i will no longer be posting here.and as one of my final posts i want to wish everybody more faiways, greens and birdies.goodbye sincerely, wedge player

well if anything make sure you start the swing with hips
-
you hav an ovet the top problem,i think in your case you are starting the backswing with your arms not your lower body, try to get a small hip "bump" and that should allow you to drop into the slot a little easier,oh and one more thing you have a very upright swing try to tuck your left shoulder under your chin, thats about the best tip ive ever had to fix an upright swing.

Seems like a mixture of strength, flexibility and technique is the best for a long ball.Although i think everybody knew that

that was a really good idea.i like that -
but this is where i want him although i could reach the par 5 in 2 he is much more accurate at that 210 yd approach than i am,and on par fours you get his drive and approach often within 15 foot ill take my chances with the putt

not according to a study every shot inside 100 yds would save an average of 2.8 strokes while every shot outside would save 7.something strokes i think it was a golf digest study but not sure.tiger regulary hits greens of 150+ yards an average joes percentage is around 20% and thats generous.im a low capper because i spend most of the time hitting full iron shots my g.i.r percntage over 150 yds is around 59% which gives me alot of birdie ops.easy pars if not,id much rather take that insted of hitting 1 outta every 5 greens and trying to get up and down for my par.
-
id personall practice the full swing hard to get birdie putts if you cant hit a green id rather have a birdie putt than trying to get up and down on all the holes though. one more qustion do you think you would score better if tiger hit all shots within 100 yards for you or over 100 yds?
-
yes but a month without practicing a full swing never have anything over a pw to practice dont think you would lower your handicap at all.

funny....

jamie's average is more around 390 meaning it only takes an average 370 to be there

Jamie Sadlowski Repeats as World Long Drive Champion
wedge player replied to JetFan1983's topic in Golf Talk
makes you wonder just how flexible he really is,and that lag is super impressive -
Due to the fact i have played with wedge player i can vouch for his power. And from this i believe what he has to say with power i believe him,im no short knocker either.FWIW i believe him and his keys to power.

if i let it all hang out he has about 20 yards on me.maybe not as accurate but i have repeatedly on demand flew the 350 sign on the range but due to accuracy i do not do this on course.that is flexibility he has an advantage in the coiling and uncoiling of the body, which i do not have, but, here is my point 98% of people i have played with could increase distane by becoming stronger and a heavily weighted club will strengthen every golf muscle in your swing if done correctly.i was mearly trying to help the members of the board with what has helped me increase distance dramatically.so for trying to help members i am sorry, for getting into arguments with yourself and mike i am to sorry.

i dont have a loose grip i activate my large muscles the looser my hands get the shorter the ball goes.ok tell you what go to the range and soley use your arms, forearms and wrists and tell me how that works for you.dont even think about a shoulder turn or allowing your hips to move, dont let it happen, dont let your body rotate and tell me how far your shots go.then use nothing but big muscles and se how far it goes.
