  1. What we are witnessing here with Tiger is not so perplexing. He has lost his game and unfortunately may never find it again. His physical ailments have also contributed to his demise. This happened to David Duval, IB-Finch, Seve.............I think there is too much scar tissue now to ever recover.
  2. I've got to give credit where credit is due. Tiger showed alot of class today in his post-round interview. I was never a lover of Tiger but I feel bad for the guy. After all he's been through, I might have a tear in my eye if he wins another major.
  3. I missed him on the range at The Players. Does he try to hammer it on the range the same as he does on the course? Who here hasn't been Ranger Rick and why does it happen? It must be a mental state. PS - Ernie Els was SWEETNESS on the range, just beautiful to watch.
  4. Tiger is a human being. He was raised a certain way to achieve greatness. Did he ever have a chance to be just a normal, rebelious kid? The way he is now is a product of his upbringing. Similar to maybe Michael Jackson although Tiger is not deviant like that. The guy needs to be left alone. Maybe he can't stay faithful to one woman due to a personality issue. But really, how much scrutiny can a guy take before something tragic happens? Who doesn't have an issue or two in their lives?
  5. I want outrageous speed with a Callaway XR driver! Sergio Garcia -7 Phil Mickelson -6 Dustin Johnson -8
  6. Pat Perez has his own style, real California with the hair, looks cool. Rickie looked better with the long hair too. Charley Hoffman, no.
  7. I was there today, mainly at number 16, right side of fairway, about driver distance. Didn't see telecast not sure what club people hit off the tee but the longest was Charley Hoffman, then Adam Scott, then Rory. Didn't know Charley was that long. Bubba hit Driver because I saw the pink shaft and head but he wasn't in the top 5 in distance, unless he held it back a little. Patrick Reed sneaky long too. When I got there, Louie was hitting a shot about 20 yards longer than Hoffman's but I don't know if it was his 3rd. Great day. Was at 17 for awhile. Saw Tiger double bogey number 2. I was taken aback by how slim Tiger looks now in person. Definitely lost alot of bulk.
  8. If I win I'll choose the GREEN P2Wrap http://www.puregrips.com/grips/view/p2_wrap to start my 2015 golf season with a Pure advantage! Cabrera, Angel -11 Kaymer, Martin -9 McDowell, Graeme -8
  9. Is it possible Tiger has lost the desire to be great again? Postponing the inevitable announcement as long as possible? This whole thing is very strange.
  10. I still play my 1025c irons, butter. Also use a Tourney 5W and hybrid. Lately I have been using my DCT, Bobby Grace Captiva putter.
  11. Chipping and pitching as Tiger did in front of the thousands and many more on TV has got to leave mental scar tissue. He will have to be mentally tough to supress it in the big moments at the majors. When similar shots with consequence are presented, it will be "testing" to say the least. I wonder if he wants it that bad anymore, the battle within himself. If so, I wish him the best.
  12. Davis is a stand-up guy and a good man. No qualms here. The overriding issue is who will play. I like Jim Furyk, Phil, Tiger, Bubba, Hunter and the like, but don't want to see them on the team anymore. Newer, hungry, young blood, including Rickie, Jimmy W, Speith and Patrick Reed again. For older guys, I think fiery types like a Pat Perez might work out. We'll see who qualifies. I just hope the Captain's picks aren't the same old, same old.
  13. I actually found your comments funny, but I would add there were some who claimed he was faking it last year, then he had the surgery.
  14. My hats off to Billy Horchel. Whether he believes Tiger's game is close or not, he stuck up for his friend. He probably said Tiger is doing good things to make him feel better. Nothing wrong with that. A class act.
  15. I don't think he's faking anything. As soon as he said he had his "explosiveness" back............here comes trouble
  16. Six months of chili-dipping and skulling. If it's not the yips what is? He really doesn't have to admit it to anyone. I'm sure he's trying his best to overcome it.
  17. This is sad because I think he is really trying to be a better person with the fans. He's smiling at times and being more accomodating to the press as well. I would like to see him get back a respectable short game to not embarass himself out there.
  18. Sorry, forgot last sentence. Keep practicing and playing to the best of your current ability, let the chips fall where they may and enjoy your life.
  19. With the chipping and pitching scar tissue he has accumulated recently, I seriously doubt he will be able to come up big with either one in a pressure packed situation. OK, I'll call it the yips. He has not been the same since the Thanksgiving incident. Changing techniques has hindered him as well. Throw in his age and I believe we have seen the end of a dominant career. Maybe he wins another tournament, but never another major. Again, too much scar tissue. He had his time, a long time, 20+ years, this is not his time anymore. I saw it with Ali, Tyson, Nicklaus, Mays, Favre, Namath........................... Time waits for no one.
  20. I believe Tiger's problem is too much "HOW" and not enough "WHERE". Nothing Foley is teaching him comes naturally, from the strong grip to the bent over posture to the super shallow move coming into the ball. It rears it's ugly head on the big stage..........weekends at the majors. It's leaked into his putting stroke too. Dump Foley and go back to what his Dad taught him. If the Foley method was to keep his body from injury, it's not working. The guy was on his knees after hitting a shot for crying out loud, not to mention the neck, elbow, achilles............ Free the mind and fill it with the simple concepts his Dad and Butch taught. He needs to give himself a chance to win the 5 majors.
  21. Some thoughts on the state of Tiger's game: If he retooled his swing under Foley to eliminate injuries, it's not working. Just watching him swing hurts, especially with the driver. I never thought I'd see the day when Tiger aspired to become Hunter Mahan or Justin Rose.
  22. Guys, we will never see the old, dominant Tiger again. He had his day in the sun. He's still a good player but like any aging champion, the magic is gone. On the plus side, we got to see one of the greats in his prime. I believe the same is true with Phil. It's not "their time" anymore.
  23. I will base my likes and dislikes on their golf game and on-course demeanor, not their personalities, because I don't know any of them: Favorites: Phil Mickelson - nice to the fans, not a crybaby after a bad shot or round. Stood up for his teamate Hunter Mahan. Freddy Couples - nice guy, takes bad medicine like a man. Ricky Fowler - good kid, not a whiner, good in the clutch. Least Favorites: Tiger Woods - too intense, one day his head will explode after a bad shot. Spencer Levin - the guy plays like he is on crack, too herky jerky for me, I get jumpy watching him. Luke Donald/Lee Westwood - good games, nice guys, no heart (I doubt either one will ever win a major).
  24. He's not done. Heck, he won three times this year. Will he dominate again? I don't think so. Will he win enough majors to surpass Jack? No. IMHO, he may never win another major. He can't come up big when it counts in a major because his psyche is permanently damaged from the revelations about his personal life. It's a bit sad, but when the emperor has been disrobed, he never returns to rule again. I see he's trying to reach out a bit to the fans on the course and to some of the interviewers. I feel bad for the guy in a way. All the range time and instruction from Sean Foley will not erase the public humiliation he endured. He will never be as self confident and mentally strong as he was, therefore he may win regular tour events but will crack from the pressure in the majors.
  25. If Tiger has anything like "3 degree clubface open and four degree body turn" in his head, no wonder he can't put four rounds together in a major. Jeeeeze................................
