  1. Make sure they are the real deal... I made the mistake of getting a set of MP-57's for a great price $469 on ebay. Opened them up and sure enough, counterfeit. I did get my money back plus shipping and handling back to seller. caveat emptor...
  2. See if any of your local shops have a demo program. That's what I did. Demoed the AP2's, Pings, TaylorMades and the Mizuno MP-57's (twice) amound others. Fell in love with the MP-57's and bought them. My local shop usually "charges" $20 to demo irons for two days. The $20 is good towards new club purchases. This gave me a chance to actually play a couple of rounds with them to get the real feel. After awhile they wanted to stop charging me and I said heck no, used this as a lay away plan. The wife didn't know what I really paid for the MP-57's because I had a couple of hundred in shop credit... When the time comes, definitely get fitted.
  3. Age: 42 Height: 5' 7'' Where are you from: Born and raised in Mt. Vernon, VA, currently living about an hour south in Spotsylvania, VA How Long have you been Playing: 20+ years Best Score: 76 Favorite club in the bag: PW Golf Books / DVD's that have helped you: any periodical I can get my hands on Where do you play: Lee's Hill Golf Club and many others in the area. Best courses you've played so far: TPC Scottsdale, TPC Virginia Beach (before it changed names/ownership), Harbor Town, Disney Magnolia/Palm courses and a very private/exclusive course called the Foundry in Richmond, Va. Things you enjoy most about golf: Taking money from anyone especially my boss. The feeling you get when you nut a shot with a Mizuno MP-57 iron. Goals for 2K10: lower HC to 7 or better.
  4. Sounds like someone has a case of the moondays...
  5. But then we couldn't argue about how many strokes we were getting/giving... My brother, who only plays maybe once a year has the same mentality, he doesn't want to get strokes. His thought, if I can't beat you straight up then you should win. I enjoy the handicap system.
  6. I agree with the above posts. HS golf in my area is a joke. My son played his Freshman and Sophomore year and has now decided not to play his Junior year. It is unfortunate as he is playing his best golf ever. His coach is a joke (boys varsity soccer coach, knows nothing about golf). I could tell stories that would absolutely make your head explode. And talk about creative score keeping, my county HS golf scores are easily 5-6 strokes deflated. So I can't really blame him for not playing. One thing that he will miss is playing the variety of courses. Might be worth putting up with the BS just to get out and enjoy a free round.
  7. Congrats!!! Now you need to start looking at that 90. Keep up the great work and you'll be there soon... Doesn't matter how low you go, we all think about the "what if's"...
  8. Be thankful they yell... At my course I hear the ball land before I hear anything else...
  9. I used to play the Pro V1's, switched to the Bridgestone 330's and am now hitting the Taylormade TP Red's. I really like the feel of the reds and at 2 dozen for $55 they are more affordable than the Pro Vs and 330s...
  10. Just wait until he starts playing high school golf. Politics, creative scorekeeping and complete lack of knowledge of rules prevails...
  11. Not sure how it is everywhere but when we went to the AT&T; this year the practice rounds were Tuesday; Wednesdays are typically the Pro-Ams. Tiger went out very early, 6:15 I believe. Good Luck...
  12. Not to high jack this thread but if there are any Mac Genius' out there that can help me get Exchange 2003 free/busy time to update in Entourage I would be forever grateful. We have 2 Mac users in our Marketing Department that can't see everyone else's free/busy time. If anyone can help, please shoot me a PM. Thanks!!! Chris
  13. 32 in my mens league 9 hole last night. Format this week was 2-man Captain's Choice. Lipped out two eagle and one birdie putt. Should have carded a 29. 32 put us in 2nd in the A flight so we received a little pro shop credit. No skins though...
  14. But you don't like them enough to play them? Your signature has you playing the Pro V... Just busting your balls... Man I'm on a roll this morning... I switched to the B330's last year. I agree with above posts regarding feel and durability. My local shop put the original 330's on sale when the new ones came out. I got a few dozen for $32. Inventory ran out quickly.
  15. I was certainly that way when I ordered my first set of Mizuno MP-57's. Called the wife when I saw the tracking change to "Delivered". Yep she got 'em... Ran home and opened up the box, took a club out and realized that they were counterfeit!!! Talk about an emotional roller coaster... Bursting with excitement to puking in your mouth emptiness in 1 second... Enjoy the new clubs... BTW, what are you getting?
