  1. You will need to sign up but this site works really well... http://greenskeeper.org/main.cfm
  2. Greetings from Burbank.
  3. Maybe try these from Golfsmith. http://www.golfsmith.com/products/29...&tcode;=fr_home
  4. Every morning when I log on to ST to check the New Posts I invariably see the same things over and over again... "What did you buy at the golf shop, What car do you drive, Shot of the day, Something about Tiger", etc. How about we all go to the last page of posts, pick the absolute last one and make a comment to mix up the topics? Just a thought... no need to reply to this post.
  5. It's not that bad. Just focus on his hot girlfriend!
  6. Los Angeles, CA has all that you are looking for with the exception of a low cost of living. However, you can move to someplace just outside of LA with a lower cost of living and still enjoy all that LA has to offer. Get ready for a culture shock though... the people here are just plain mean. I've been here in the outskirts of LA for 10+ years and love the access to everything LA has to offer but I'm also far enough away to enjoy great golf and an even better group of friends.
  7. You could go with an R shaft and have them tip it to bring it up in stiffness closer to a standard S shaft.
  8. I will do some research on greenskeeper.org before visiting a course. Here's a link to GCs in Phoenix. http://www.greenskeeper.org/arizona/golf_courses/
  9. I play at 6:30 AM on the weekends so it's easy to walk as you don't get too hot. If I'm playing mid-day in a HOT area then I'll ride.
  10. I can not confirm or deny what he played this past weekend but in the 2009 Masters he did play a D66. DRIVER: Ping Rapture V2 (10.5°) with Ping prototype 824x shaft FAIRWAY METAL: Ping G10 (17° bent to 15°) with Fujikura TW84x shaft HYBRID: Ping Rapture V2 (17°) with Aldila VS Proto Hybrid 80x shaft IRONS: (Four through pitching wedge) Ping S58 with True Temper Dynamic Gold X100 shafts SAND WEDGE: Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled (54°) LOB WEDGE: Ping Eye 2 (59°) PUTTER: Ping D66 BALL: Titleist Pro V1x
  11. 1) First, improve swing mechanics. 2) Train the body core in particular for strength and power. 3) Properly increase flexibility. Generally speaking, the further a joint can move through its range of motion, the less injury prone it will be. Increasing one's ROM is a good thing. 4) Begin a Specific Resistance Training Program. 5) Perform a properly designed, periodized strength and conditioning program specific for golf. Such a generalized program should include weight lifting, plyometrics, flexibility, and energy system conditioning.
  12. No heroics... just go for par.
  13. That is really great to hear! It's a great feeling when an unfortunate situation like yours turns into something spectacular. Now, if we could just convince this rain in So Cal to hold off until Monday we would be good to go for this weekend!
  14. Wow, I didn't realize there were so many sensitive people on ST. Let me be the first to apologize if I hurt anyone's feelings, especially to any ladies that commented on my posting in this forum.
  15. Beyond trying to make the best golf team you can through practice, simulated games, etc. you are molding a lot of young men and women (assuming you have co-ed teams). You may also want to incorporate other fundamental learnings of golf by introducing them to the history of the game. Quite often overlooked by many coaches as they are only looking towards the next shot or next tournament but what has happened in the past has also paved the way to the future of the sport. Along those lines you may want to also incorporate some aspects on the architecture of your golf course. Teach them about what the architect was trying to accomplish by putting trouble spots in certain areas and how to identify them at other courses. This will help them with their mental management of what shot to hit next during those stressful circumstances of tournament play.
  16. Best carry bag made right now. Not too heavy and has plenty of good storage areas. http://www.ogio.com/product.php?product=170
  17. As a game of tradition I would highly recommend against something like this and ask that you get yourself a carry bag and walk the course like a man. Seriously, the guys in our golf club get made fun of every time one of them thinks this is a great idea and decides to bring it to the course. It's just another gimmick that some marketing person thought up while drunk or high on the golf course one day.
  18. Oh dear lord, where will this man not tread? He already looks like a NASCAR driver with all of those logos on his shirts, then he went stir crazy with those awful pants and now he's the face of an underwear company. So sorry John but you lost me years ago. http://www.golfweek.com/news/2010/fe...el-believe-it/ https://www.getyourslixon.com/index_home.php
  19. I am playing the Pentas now actually. You will lose distance as this is a pretty soft ball but man they feel AWESOME! You know how you have those two or three shots per round where you can't even feel the ball off the face and pure it? That's what this ball is like all of the time.
  20. Played in our Tournament of Champions this past weekend and shot a miserable 92. Go back today and shot an 82. I swear one of these days when I say "I quit" that I'll really mean it. Lets hear some other love / hate stories about your game!
  21. Try the Callaway HX Hot Bite. http://www.callawaygolf.com/Global/e...ls/HXBite.html
  22. I just put the Adams Idea Pro Black 18* in my bag and absolutely love it. Sets up much more like an iron and doesn't have that "tinny" feel like the TM or new Titleist hybrids. It plays about 230 for me off the tee and I can work it left to right or right to left with no problem. http://www.adamsgolf.com/products/hybrids/problack.php
  23. I've played all of the Troon courses, Grayhawk and We-ko-pa. Out of them all I prefer We-ko-pa. Cholla is almost 7,300 yards from the back tees and makes for a great day.
  24. My son is two now and can't get enough of it. I take him to Roger Dunn with me and he will go over to the short stix, pick one out and then take it to the hitting bay. Here he is back in November on the front lawn (we use whiffle balls at home and real balls at the course).
  25. I haven't listened to metal in years... guess I'm getting old.
