This is what have a problem with. I didint watch the full broadcast, but I have watched most of the highlights on the USGA youtube channel which are extensive. It looks to me that the ground around those weeds is elevated and every shot has a tendency to settle in the low points in between the weeds. Meaning, these "breaks" arent that lucky, but rather getting a bad lie is unlucky and a decent lie is kinda expected. For example, take a look at this screenshot: Thats a screenshot from the 2nd round 5th hole of the lies Scheffler, Schauffele, and McIlroy got hitting it into the waste area. All three got decent lies. If you watch the shots settle you can see exactly what I was referring to about how the balls appear to settle between the tufts aka decent lies.

No, he did not. He played a stroke worse. Did Bryson DeChambeau get lucky at the U.S. Open? A forensic investigation Bryson DeChambeau missed eight fairways in the final round of the U.S. Open. Here's a closer look at what happened next. Did he actually? Its a bit silly that when it comes to stuff like this people jump on the rhetoric bandwagon so easily. Tv analysts spew nonsense all year round and the first time they say something people agree with now its fact 🤣. I think the tldr. from that article is that he got some breaks, but plenty of tough ones in there as well as you would expect. Pretty much this, he hit some amazing shots as you would expect from the winner. Its sad people try to downplay his win.

Funny how they had no problem with the LPGA being backed by the saudis.

I couldnt find anything saying the first one was canceled so I assumed it was the same project. Admittedly the info on the specifics is limited. Either way, the original point of the earlier tweet by the guy was that no Payne Stewart named center was announced when Bryson started at SMU. Thats factually false. The fact that it ended up somewhere else is somewhat irrelevant imo. The two locations are only 10 miles apart as far as I can tell?

Come one now. Some guy on twitter says it so it must be true? Groundbreaking for SMU's Payne Stewart Golf Learning Center Thats the SMU announcement from 2009. Was named way before Bryson started. Construction apparently did not finish until 2017 so at least the guy on twitter got that right. That quote is apparently from this 2022 article LIV Superstar Bryson DeChambeau Shares the Real Reason Why He Fell in Love With Ben Hogan and His Famous Flat Cap - EssentiallySports In his recent YouTube video, Bryson DeChambeau discusses how his love for the famous Ben Hogan cap began and his admiration for the legend. He has talked about the cap way before this. In a 2015 interview he talks about both Payne Stewart and Ben Hogan as the inspiration, Think Young, Play Hard: Bryson DeChambeau | Golf Digest U.S. Amateur and NCAA individual champ Bryson DeChambeau looks forward to next year.

Ive been meaning to update this thread for a few years now but just havent gotten around to it. Back in 2019 I had to deal with some health problems that sidelined me from golf or really any physical activity. Luckily the timing was perfect for recovery since we cant really play golf at all in the winter months anyways, apart from indoor training and thats kinda pricey. Beginning of last year I went from a fade to a draw. Not because I necessarily wanted to draw the ball as a stock shot, but I wanted to get more control over my swing in general. Here are some small draws with a 22hybrid. And some drivers

Sand Trap Superspeedsters - Support and Encouragement Group
Alx replied to iacas's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
Well, if you take someone who is completely out of shape then doing pretty much any activity will result in hypertrophy but thats short lived. But no, the load is too low. If someone is worried about or wants to correct imbalances you dont address that with reverse swings or anything sport specific. These speed training things are a bit of a gimmick for regular people imo. Speed training, dynamic effort etc. have been around for ever and while it does work its pretty specialized and honestly most ppl would gain more speed by simply building a proper strength base, but its obviously not as cool as swinging a stick 😄. Dont get me wrong this kind of training does work, but generally you will adapt quickly and stagnate. -

Apples and oranges. Speed training is not for hypertrophy, curls are. Since its mainly for recruitment and technique I wouldnt be too worried even if you do only the dominant side. -
Sure I do, but just because the share is smaller doesnt make it okay. I dont see people criticizing the Saudis funding the LET series or general backing on the ladies side, at least to this extent. The point I am alluding to is that the fact that people are generally ok or disregard Saudis funneling money to existing entities is what paved the way for things like LIV that are fully Saudi backed. Theyre just poking in to see if the world is "ready", if you will. And just so were clear I am not a fan of sportswashing but like I said, the fact that people ignore the small things that are along the logic of "only 1 of 8 sponsors" etc. is what leads to this type of stuff being more widespread, accepted, allowed, and extreme. ps. I dont know what kinds of deals the players might have regarding comments (and I doubt you do either?) so I dont feel comfortable commenting on it but I get what youre saying. But then again you wouldnt really badmouth someone who just "hired" you anyways regardless of who they were.

This is the point I was trying to make. It seems that as long as the Saudis are funneling money to the existing entities its ok but creating something on their own is the problem. If people cant see the obvious double standard with that take...

So I take it you were actively boycotting the recent British open? Given it was sponsored by HSBC, you know the bank that has been making a push to the middle eastern market and was the main western partner of the Saudi Aramco listing? The same HSBC conglomerate that up until now has refused to leave the Russian market...

Pretty disappointed by the yt coverage. The range streams are great but highlights are absolutely abysmal.

I guess the main point is that the takes are just too long for my taste. LIV does it better here. 😂

Watched some of the LIV broadcasts and I gotta say they are just better than the PGA/DP coverage. Its more fast paced and less time spent with the long-winded scenic shots or just watching a player setup for their shot for an obscene amount of time. Like who thinks its a good idea to show 3 minutes of a player who barely made a cut lining up a 35 foot straightish putt? I dont mind seeing the actual putt, but I dont want to watch the ridicilous preparation for such a meaningless shot. Dont get me wrong, the scenic shots and longer takes have their place in a broadcast when shown occasionally.

Workout Before or After Playing a Round of Golf (2022)
Alx replied to kenhockey2's topic in Fitness and Exercise
Depends on the priorities. If I want to prioritize strength training Ill just take a rest day from golf or workout before golf. If I am just doing it for maintenance usually after. -
Considering the LIV channel is pretty new, and probably not getting pushed by the algo getting 100k viewers is decent. I like the broadcast, the cuts are short enough and the graphics are good. Some kinks to iron out still, such as the score sound. Ultimately I think the PGA tour has no one to blame for this but themselves. Theyve had a monopoly on pro golf for years and instead of capitalizing theyve largely failed or refused to evolve. The access to their product through "modern" media like yt, twitch, and other free streaming is also pretty poor. Ill definitely watch at least some of the LIV tournaments just because its there and easy to view, at least for now.

Do you feel this strongy about the UAE working with the PGA?

Anecdotally it definitely narrows and I would say its most significant with shorter putts. This year Ive been doing some of my practice at another local course with much better greens and the difference in making those shorter putts is huge.

Blades vs. Cavity Backs - with Data/Video
Alx replied to iacas's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I always thought there was something going on with the whole "forgiveness" scam... Ive hit clubs at multiple demos and always asked the rep to give me the tiniest blade and the biggest shovel they had. Mishitting with a tiny blade always felt like I barely hit the face but looking at the performance it really wasnt doing that bad. Mishits with the more "forgiving" clubs had a much duller feel and the results were often unpredictable. For me seeing this data pretty much confirms what I was feeling and seeing wasnt my mind playing tricks on me.- 151 replies

First 9 after 2 days of a beginners course I shot 57 on a par 30. I played my first 18 holes on a full length course around six months later and shot 95. Ive actually never shot over 100.😄

Looks to me like your grip opens quite a bit at the top of the backswing?

You can dislike him and the way he has expressed himself but his point about the gapping is valid. Mini driver to 9w is a pretty big gap and the upper end seems a bit wacky aswell. Dont chippers have like crazy upright lie angles? How do you even swing that to hit a 130 punch? Im pretty sure its easier with a 7 or lower iron.

Oh boy... The camera work is awful on the first tee. These guys are trying to zoom in on the ball while its flying all you see is sky and a hazy white dot. When the ball lands they zoom even further and you dont even know where the tee shot ended up.

I am 100% certain you were not with all of them all the time weighing all their meals. What you saw was just a part of the reality. Also if were talking kids here up to 16 yo even the 6'4 ones rarely weigh 100 kilos. IF what you are saying was actually what was happening and these kids were eating 2600 calories and she was even at 4k calories which is less than what you are claiming there is no way this was due to metabolism. She either has an eating disorder, not able to utilize nutrition properly or another medical condition. Being this extreme however it would not go undiagnosed. Outsiders perspectives are rarely correct: Ive been in both high and low metabolism groups, atleast by outside estimation. When I was a kid I was often told how lucky I was to not put on weight with all the candy I was eating. We had a school project where we tracked all our calories for a week and guess what I was on the low end despite being 6'3. I was essentially replacing a lot of my meals at home by drinking skim milk. When I got older and started going to the gym my colleques were amazed how I could gain weight by eating so little compared to female coworkers literally half my size. Again when we counted calories from our daily eating I was coming in at 3500+ and they were in the 2000 range. Perspective.
