if your set came with PW and SW would it probably be safe to say the the PW is around 49 and the SW is around 54?
-
Can someone break down for me the different lofts that designate what type of wedge it is? for example what is the degree of loft in a PW SW AW GW LW?

This do this at everyone touranment in the states. Don't really appear to have a problem drawing a gallery. I'm just saying that it has seemed a little excessive the last few weeks when the tournaments have been out of the country.

For a few weeks now i have been watching what i consider to be "European Tour Golf" on the Golf Channel. I know the tournaments haven't been in Europe with the Aussie Masters, Dubia, and this one is in China. It's just the way it's announced and broadcast on TV. My problem with these tournaments is the galleries. I know here in the states there is the "Get in the hole" guy and the people yelling Tiger constantly, but these people and the cameras are out of control. Why can't the organizers of these tournies get this under control. The players are constantly complaining about on the course. At Quail Hollow everyone is wanned with a metal detector at the entrance and they even have a camera/cell phone storage area where they'll keep it for you while you are in the tournament. I went to the Masters a few years ago and think they might even pat you down there. Im not saying that pro's should always have absolutely perfect conditions and no distractions. After all, golf is a spectator sport, but I'm getting tired of the camera shutters too. And especially tired of no one doing anything about it.

RockBottom Golf jacking up prices for Black Friday!

I think at the end of the day, everyone should just look around for the best deal and not always assume that RBG has the best deal. No big deal, it's capitalism. As far as quality of the products, has anyone had any issues with buying clubs off the site? I always figured RBG's inventory came from wholesalers, lot buys, etc. I purchased a few shirts and was not really impressed. They do always seem to have deals on bags, and now they have the TM Burners for like 120 bucks. 9.5 stiff should be a 9.5 stiff right? Now i know that each club can be a little different with different degrees of offset etc from the manufacturing process. Is there a chance that RBG may get some clubs that would be traditionally sold in an "outlet" type store for items that don't pass QC? -
wasn't taking them to the range to practice with, just to get a comparison of how they react beside a real ball.
-
I think they make foam practice balls now that won't crush. If i remember right, they are in the "Golf Digest Traininng Tool" group. I guess I'll just take a couple plastic balls with me to the range the next time i go.

I just came across a bag of the white whiffle golf ball that you can use to practice with limited space. I purchased these 2 yrs ago when first starting to play golf planning on using them to practice. Never happened. Thinking of chipping them around the apartment. Can anyone tell me how these balls react in comparison to a real golf ball? i.e. trajectory, spin, distance, etc. Could hit balls into a laundry basket all day, but want to know what effects it will have. thanks, Mike.

I am in the market for buying a new driver. I don't want to really get into the specifics of brand, just what loft is best. The most common it looks like the the 9.5. Lower loft means lower ball flight and more roll right? Is a higher degree of loft easier to hit? Right now I am swinging a 13 degree and am wondering what to step to next. Also, I am thinking that shaft stiffness depends all on swing speed. And i'm thinking most drivers come with regular stiffness shafts stock from the factory. Can someone please explain the difference in the degree of lofts, and the pro's and con's of a 9.5 or 10.5 or the differnt shafts... We have golf galaxy's here in the Carolina's, but the sales people are far from helpful. Any insight would be appreciated.

Has anyone ever purchased clubs from this website. it looks like they are clone clubs. i'm not very educated on clones and was looking for some information. i always figured that spending the money for what you really want will pay off in the long run. but i saw in another thread a guy talking about using a putter head from there. Anyone used it?

Don't know if you drink, (not that it is mandatory) but there is 3 local poker companies in the charlotte area that host tournamets in bars. I have played in all 3 but Pub Poker Championship is my favorite. The other two are Local Circuit Events and World Tavern Poker. Google them, and they have their locations and date/times posted.

I went today and posted something. Absolutley nobody said anything. I was trying to participate in the site. Welcome to Charlotte. I will post it below. I love Quail Hollow. This week in Charlotte is the "Wachovia"/Quail Hollow Championship. I am off all week, and have Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun tickets. Event Lawns on Sunday. I was out today for 4 or 5 hours for practice/pro-am round. Weather is great. Greens and Fairway are in good shape. The only thing about the course that bothered me was how short the rough is. Buried deep and you still had 20% of the ball exposed. The municipal courses around here sometimes have higher rough. Don't know if I don't know what i am talking about and they will let it grow all week but at this point the course is rather easy, in my opinion. Nobody playing in the pro-am that I recognized, but enjoyed walking the course looking for shady spots for over the week. 75% of the concession stands were not open. I'm sure by Thursday everything will be fully operational. Finally ended up with a cold beer at the practice range. Spotted Anthony Kim coming on to the tee boxes and followed him to the corner where he set up. Knowing that he had won the tournament last year, the media coverage ought to be pretty high on this guy. Sure enough, news channel 14 and 3 showed up and conducted interviews. He was practicing with an amateur whom I presume will be playing with him on Wed. Nothing but advice and smiles. I could tell that the longer he was there the more tired of sponsors and manufacturer reps he got. Before the interview started he asked the amateurs caddy to borrow his hat. It was a Nike victory red, I think it's called, hat. As we know, AK swings Nikes and made the comment that Nike has already contacted him a few times for not wearing the correct "colors". In my opinion he is a class act and has a great personality. That is something that golf is desperately in need of today. I will be going back on Wed with the mission of getting Steve Spurrier's autograph in the pro-am. Will post what happened through that day on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. Thanks for reading. Just wanted to let people know what what going on around here in golf.

I haven't been able to get on but Saturday was a pretty good round for me. I played a local muni, and shot some pretty good golf. Charles T. Meyers(71.0/120) was the track. Had played for the first time back in Feb and shot terribly. The fairways and greens have grown in nice since "winter golf" in NC has ended. A couple of drives would have been long gone if i had been playing anywhere else. Ended up with a 96. 46 on the front and 50 on the back. Only snowman all day was on 18, in which i sliced two 30yd SW shots. I birdied number 4 (par 3, 152yds), and then 5 was a par 5, 3rd shot was 70 yard SW. Knocked it 4 ft. While i tried to line up my short putt for 2 birdies in a row i realized my head was about to explode. I couldn't get my hands to stop shaking. i stood up over my putt and said to my friend, "I can't make this putt." He asked my why, and i said "I'm going to throw up on my shoes." I ended up missing the putt by 3in and came back down the hill for par. On the turn had a hard time starting back off to score with 2 7's in a row. Thinking about playing it again on Thursday. I have my first private lesson on Monday. I'm sure i'll post something. Thanks for reading. -Mike.

What i think is interesting is the that the higher handicappers are all saying take the eagle, and the lower handicappers are saying it's a birdie.
-
Christmas? It's April. A few months ago in golf digest i think Paul Goydos said "A 30 handicapper shouldn't go out and buy $1000.00 clubs. They should buy $200.00 clubs and buy $800.00 worth of lessons."

I have only read two, John Daly's "Everything You Thought You Knew About Me" and "TALES FROM Q SCHOOL". The Daly one was ok and so was Q school but, in my opinion if you are looking for a fun easy non fiction story to read when the wifey won't let you play, Q school isn't it. -Mike.

i don't know man, i am a pretty high handicap myself. but what i have always hear is hit down on the ball, and adjust the ball in your stance depending on the club. starting just inside your left foot for long irons and moving down to the middle of you stance for the wedges. take it with a grain of salt. sometimes i get to pose, and sometimes i'm cussing on the way to look for a lost ball. as far as divots goes, most of the time ground is so hard there is no room for a divot especially in the south during the summer. -mike.

2008 PONTIAC G8GT. the first 888 in the country were numbered. have #130. Black exterior black leather. 6.0L 365HP 385ft/lbs. automatic with sport shift. Love the car but not exactly feasible for the number of miles i drive. have had it for about a year, and no problems. And since everyone is counting, holds 3 cart bags in the trunk. GF drives a 2007 IS250. It's ok, but would rather have the G8 anyday. Nothing in the world like 4 doors kicked sideways through a stop light.

I'm sure you can get the schedule from www.pgatour.com and then if you found a tourney in your area google the name.

I have went to the Wachovia for the last couple of years here in charlotte. (This year it is known as the Quail Hollow Championship, even though Wachovia is still footing the bill) Either way, the practice/weekday rounds are always the most enjoyable because of the crowds. I am going to the Pro-Am for the first time on Wed this year, and being a USC fan am hoping for a Steve Spurrier autograph. Last year i lucked into some Saturday tickets for the masters. I made the mistake of taking my girlfriend. It was the day that we cancelled do to rain and lighting. We had almost made it to Amen corner when the sky's opened up. It was around 1.5 miles or so back to the club house. The girlfriend (who "plays" golf and has been to Quail Hollow) decided the best idea was to wear a dress and a floppy hat that you would wear to the Kentuckey Derby instead of shorts and spikes. Needless to say she looked like a wet dog. Augusta National is a beautiful place and i would love a return trip. On a side note, if someone could offer me and opinion i would appreciate it. While we were on the long trek back to the club house i came across Boo Weekly standing by himself under an umbrella. There was no one around, and play had been cancelled. I walked up to Boo and introduced myself, and told him i listened to him on the local AM sports station and enjoyed watching him on tour. He refused to shake my hand. I was extremely taken back by it. Under normal circumstances of play, i would never approach a player. Play was delayed and the course was being cleared. Since that day, Boo has never hit enough balls in the water to make me happy. Am I in the wrong for feeling this way and did i cross the line?

I broke 100 with a 99 for the first time about 3 wks ago at Springfield in Fort Mill, SC. Really nice course but kinda expensive. I don't think I could wipe that smile off my face though. Next time out there i shot a 107 so hopefully consistent

On Saturday, i shot a 109. I shot a 51 on the back, which is where i typically am. The first three holes were completely butchered. I was playing skins with a buddy of mine with comperable skill level, and he pretty much cleaned me out. Some times i am not a very patient person, and the start to the day really put a test on me. Was kinda happy how i came back around.
