  2. I have one I'd sell but not sure if it would be worth it to ship. Shipping would be probably as much as it is worth.
  3. I use my cart most of the time. It is easier, don't have to worry about weight and can carry lunch. I really want an electric one but thats a little above my means right now. Now that is walking in style. It isn't a shape thing, just an easier thing. I'm looking to play well, not get the best workout I can.
  4. Why? Because it just isn't that easy to hit it far and straight. We do have jobs and lifes outside of golf. And are you talking flying it 250 or hitting it 250 in the middle of august. Two totally different things. You need to play a bunch to play well IE hit the center of the club face consistantly and it the correct direction. I'd take 230 and in play everyone instead of coming after it hard and being everywhere. Flying it 250 is a big drive in real life, not on the internet.
  5. Those two swings above have nothing in common. The thin guy has a nice looking move.
  6. I don't hate the car, I just hate the attitude of the drivers. Buddy, you really aren't saving the earth. I love saving something, and thats called money and thats all your doing. It makes me kind of want one. But I associate arrogant people with that car so I couldn't do it.
  7. Right now I'm at the end of 4th week of this program. Here is the website: stronglifts.com The program is very simple. Lift three days a week (MWF typically) Alternate between workout A and B. Example week 1 do A B A week 2 B A B so on. 12 weeks A) Squat, Bench, Bent over row. B) Squat, overhead press, deadlift all lifts are 5x5 except deadlifts is 1x5 not including warmups which is detailed on the website. Start light and add 5 pounds every workout on every lift except deadlift you add 10. Focus is on form, depth (no half squats) Then when you fail you try again 2 times then deload 10% and build back up. I'm very happy so far. I'm a novice lifter and for sure seeing results. Losing weight, feeling stronger, getting results fast. I've worked out quite a bit in the past 3 years on and off and this is the quickest I've seen results. Its useable strength that for sure will translate into golf. The stability and core strength needed for all the lifts and overall strength I'm confident will help in mantaining balance and give me the ability to swing better. Right now my weights are 185 squat deadlift, 115 bench row, 75 overhead press. Its getting heavy fast. Hoping to not fail for a few weeks but squats and the press are challenging. Any questions welcome but I'm not an expert. Just an easy program to follow that seems to be helping me in changing my body.
  8. Wait, I'm not a racist, I'm young, I have no issues with gays and them having the same rights as opposite sex couples, but I'm conservative? The things that matter to me are the economy, the economy, the economy. And the left does nothing to grow wealth. They (most) think its wrong to be rich and they don't deserve it and don't pay there fair share. But the facts are that the top 10% pay 80% of the taxes. And who was in office during the civil rights era? Dixie Crats, there not racist. Only evil republicans. Go Obama.
  9. So Mr Desmond, where do you get your "facts"? NY Times, CNN. I'm not saying that fox isn't biased, but every news outlet is one way or another. To be informed you have (opinion) reads lots of different points of view. It seems as though you say things are facts from liberal news sources and that conservative ones are rubbish. I don't know how anyone can think Biden won. Being rude, laughing at the opponent, interupting. A 12 year old could have better manners and does.
  10. 75, 3 over. 40, 35. Tees one up, right at 6500. I miss that golfer. This was around 4 years ago. Fox run golf course at kenton county.
  11. I mark the ball. Clean the ball, use the line on the ball for aim, no practice strokes, step in looking at the hole, set the putter behind the ball, one look at the hole, gone. I might read the putt depending if its a green I know or not. I trust my feet and my eyes for the read. If I'm confused then I might take a look at a different angle. But 9 times out of 10 the way I read it initally is the way I will try to hit it.
  12. These are facts? NY times, come 0n you can't be serious. And its an opinion article.
  13. By all accounts Romney crushed Obama in the debate. Liberal and Conservative outlets alike. I really couldn't watch much. Obamas voice makes me want to cut off my ears. And his policies have done nothing for our future.
  14. Its impossible to describe exactly how I'd play that shot. I'd have to see the lie, feel the ground, on the upslope or not, can I get the club under the ball, etc. I might play a mini bunker shot, a chip type swing with the face way open, a almost no swing swing. (just hinge the wrist and drop the club on top of the ball with little follow through). The one consistant thing is its going to be a guess and the ball will not have much spin. I'd just practice this a bunch. It is something you can do in your back yard or wherever.
  15. Who didn't dope? Modern times, who is a more dominant cyclist? Sorry I don't know the sport well. My bad, didn't know we had to be experts on something to comment. And shorty, you have some of the nastiest post ever. You must be a real peach to be around. You don't have to insult people.
  16. I just put my net back up tonight. I don't have a camera, training aids. What am I trying to accomplish? I am trying to get rid of a very bad habit of breaking down at the top of the swing, getting the club in the place that the only thing I can do is hit is big cuts and pulls. I went from being a consistant player to a wild player. I've had ok rounds with the horrid move, but I've had rounds where I couldn't get off the tee at all. I know this more compact move works, I just have to train myself to make it on the course. I don't know what it is about that stupid ball, but as soon as I get over it I make a terrible move. It has bleed all the way down the bag into my strength (wedges). Hopefully I can start making a better swing. I am using the net to train myself to swing in a more controlled fashion thus control the ball better. Hopefully I can get back to being an 81-82 machine. I know it isn't great, but it was fun playing that way.
  17. He is the most dominant athlete in the history of his sport. I think that he was doing the same things as everyone else. But he won 7 times. Now they are stripping him of his titles to give to someone others who were doing the same thing, yet not subject to the witch hunt he was. It is rediculous to come back 6 years later. They all were playing by the same rules which they all were breaking.
  18. I believe that is 2010. It is for sure worth something on ebay. Depending on groves, maybe 50-60. The oil can finish always looks a little worn. I'd be suprised if you didn't get at least 40.
  19. I carry a 64. It isn't any harder to hit than a 60 or a 56. I don't buy that. I'm not hitting it with that much loft. The club doesn't pass my hands until well after the ball is gone. I hit it low and controlled up until well, I pick a different club. Around 70 yards. To answer your question which is tough to do but will attempt just using how far I hit my wedges. I hit my 60 right around 85 with a full wedge swing, my 64 around 70. When I carry a 56 I hit that 95. But these are stock swings. I prefer to not to hit really hard wedge shots so my idea distance for a 64 is 63-66 yards. Same with my 60, I prefer to take just a bit off and hit it just under 80. The key to consistancy with wedges is foward hands and controlled swings. For me that wedge has made the 60 yard shot something I am extremely good at considering my skill level. But it is also something I have been practicing for years. I expect to get up and in from a good lie from that distance. Not saying I always do, but I have alot of confidence with that. But this is by far my strength in golf so I can't speak for anyone else.
  20. I don't think missing greens is a course management thing. It is a golf is really hard thing. Are you just missing greens by a little and having good shots of getting up and in. At your level, 6-7 GIRs a round is good. 9 is great. I'm not sure what your expectations are. But when I was playing off a good 10, I'd make my GIRs on the 5s and short 4s/3s. scratch players only average around 9.5 GIRS a round
  21. Putting isn't luck. Not saying there isn't a certain amount of luck involved in small sample sizes (IE a round of golf). But the more good putts you hit the more you will make over time. Sure, we all hit those perfect putts that just don't go in. But I don't want the hole to be bigger. I just want to keep hitting it well with the right speed and I will make my fair share. You can't judge your putting skills on one round. Changing the hole size would make the game different and take away some of the skill in the great equalizer in golf.
  22. I don't see how this can be true for anyone. A good shot from 100 is 10 feet, a bad shot from 20 yards is 10 feet. If you can put 8 out 10 inside of 5 feet from a 100, geez that is just crazy better than pga tour good. From 20 yards that is doable even for a hack like me. I'm by no means a great player and I know for a fact I can get 10 out 10 from a decent lie inside of 10 with 3-5 within 5.
  23. Much worse. Maybe a bit more than a year ago but I don't even feel like the same player, and not in a good way. Against my 2009 form, I don't think I could beat that player more than 5 out of 100.
  24. Yes, that is how far ahead your hands should be. It is almost impossible too much shaft lean towards the target.
  25. Whatever Shorty. Drssing nicely is one thing. Dressing head to toe in the latest and greatest then shotting a 100 is different. You are crazy if you don't think people notice players on a course that can play or look like they can play. And top 10 dumbest post. That is just crazy. Sorry my opinion isn't yours. F U buddy.
