yea, since i started trying to initiate the backswing with my shoulders, ive started taking it back on a flatter plane. I think standing closer to the ball will help me use a steeper takeaway, and i definitely need to work on the wrist part, no idea how my face got to be so closed at the top of the swing. anything else you guys can see? Ive just started really focusing on starting the downswing with my lower body, not sure if im doing it correctly yet.. please tell me if im not

probably around 160, 165 if i hit it real clean

alright, thanks ill try that.. if this makes it any easier for you guys to analyze, here it is on swing academy: http://www.swingacademy.com/videoplayer.aspx?id=3655

here are a few videos of my swing.. it needs some critiquing, my problem is hooking the ball off the tee.. it tends to creep in at the end of rounds and an certain "bad days" some of them are so severe that the ball goes probably less than 100 yds.. so here they are: this one was one of my better drives all day, straight as an arrow, around 270-280 yds, middle of fairway: this one was a slight hook: as was this one: I couldnt seem to get a video of one of my bad hooks, but from what i can see in the video, i can tell my clubface is wayyyy closed, or maybe open, at the top of the backswing. I'm sure that has something to do with it. I seem to be swinging inside to out when I watch them in slow-mo, so im thinking the biggest problem is clubface alignment. My good shots are straight or slight draw and probably average 260-280. My bad hooks go maybe 150, it really sucks. However, my handicap is dropping pretty nicely, ive been shooting 6-8 over my past few rounds of 9 holes, but i feel that if i can fix this hooking problem I can drop it even lower, so any advice is appreciated

I know how this goes.. shot +6 on 9 holes, 3 pars and a birdie.. next day didnt even bother keeping score it was so damn bad
-
I hate this.. the other day i hit a beautiful tee shot on the first hole watched it bounce in the middle of the fairway, and never found the ball.. its like it disappeared. made me so mad

well after reading the first few pages it seems like your whole argument is "they broke it they should fix it" and it seems to me like they were going to fix it, at no cost to you.. if you take your mercedes to the dealership for an oil change and they put a dent or scratch on the car, they aren't going to replace the damn thing with a brand new one.. They offered to fix it for free, but you just couldn't stand having a "lesser club" for 2 whole weeks.. u want to hear a story, i bought a used car from a reputable dealership, they gave me a car history print out that displayed a clean record, no wrecks at all.. couple months later i remove a strip of side molding, and notice that from the doors up to the front of the car had been repainted and there was a strip of different colored paint where they had just painted over the side molding.. I get the carfax and it says it has been wrecked twice.. I didn't go to the dealership demanding a new car.. they offered to inspect it for any damage or abnormalities left from the wreck repairs and if there was no damage they would repaint it at no cost to me, and that was fine..

How much does muscle factor in to distance
c4m replied to maraca2020's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
its my understanding that clubhead speed and contact are the main factors.. I guess if muscle helps you get more clubhead speed then yea it helps. But I'm pretty skinny and outdrive alot of my jacked friends.. I am pretty tall though, about 6'3 so that might help a little idk -
sorry, i totally messed that up somehow haha I meant blister on the bottom of my right ring finger where my left index finger touches haha must have had a brainfart while posting that. but I'm thinking that Im gripping way to tightly if you are supposed to treat it like a toothpaste bottle. I treat it more like a baseball bat. I'll try a looser grip
-
I noticed on days I play poorly I end up getting a big blister (more like a peice of skin torn off) on the bottom side of my right index finger, where my left pinky touches it (i use interlock grip). Could I be gripping wrong or holding to tightly or loose to cause this? and would this effect where my shots are going? I tend to hook badly on bad days

we had been playing behind a super slow group all day, on the 17th hole 2 jackasses about hit me and my friend, we had teed off and were over a hill out of view and one ball lands right behind me as im getting ready to hit, I yelled to let them know we were still there, a second later another one comes whizzing over my head.. I was going to steal their balls, but decided to be the bigger man and just run over them with the cart until they were in craters

So I've found a couple lady balls at the course and was wondering what is the difference in a ladies ball and a regular ball? if any
-
Ok so I played 9 holes earlier this week and drove the ball beautifully, hitting 5 of 7 fairways, and even the 2 i missed were right on the edge, and I had good distance probably averaged 260-280. Then I play a round today and hit 1 decent drive all day, the rest were low flying hooks most of which went less than 200 yards, it was the most frustrating round of golf I've played in my life I was doing the exact same thing with all my irons too, except for pitch shots and chipping. I've had this problem a couple times before.. most of the time it starts on the back 9 and I figured I was just getting lazy or something. but I have no idea what was happening today, I was making sure my swingpath was inside out, and I could see that I was hitting most of the balls in the middle of the clubface. Any ideas of what I'm doing? I use a neutral grip, and here are some old videos of my swing: http://www.youtube.com/user/etsubucs.../2/1UoRHRR-Nes (since i took these I have changed to starting the backswing with my shoulders instead of my wrists)

from the looks of your followthrough looks like you dont let your wrists turn over and the club face is probably wide open, but cant tell much about swing plane unless you do a video from behind -
Can't Set Up Left...see inside for details...
c4m replied to enis750's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I have this problem too.. there is this one hole at my course thats a driveable par 4, straight fairway, but you have to tee off at an angle to the left and there are scary woods on the right. EVERY time I hit a massive hook into the woods. I think for some reason even though I'm set up at the right angle I feel like I need to adjust my swing to hit it left... -
how every time there is one part of my game that is missing. one day its putting one day its tee shots one day its chipping etc.. and my most frustrating, probably because it happens to me so often, is having a birdie putt then 3 putting for bogey
-
man Ive been having the exact same problem recently.. I played the best 9 of my life then mid way through the back 9 i started hooking and it got worse and worse. played 9 again today, first 2 holes great, then the hook came back in. This happened a couple months ago but it went away when i took a few days off from playing. Hopefully it will happen that way again this time
-
So I started out with a no name putter with just a solid head (no insert), and my putting was one of the best parts of my game. Then I bought this taylormade putter with an insert because it was on sale half price and I cant putt with it to save my life. I practiced and practiced with it and I have finally given up and sold it on ebay. Sooo, I am now looking for a good non insert putter for less than $100. Any suggestions? I would go back to my old one but i gave it away

I'm kindof the same way but what gives me trouble is when the tee box or the fairway is at an angle and I have to set up at an angle. To help this I try to aim at different things when I hit at the range and not just hit straight at the middle the whole time
