  1. I stand on a 4x4 to make sure my balance doesn't move forward or backwards
  2. I hit both the speedline and Insight Tech among others and ended up with the insight tech. it's a little heavier which I like. Both are very good drivers though
  3. Coverage is AWFUL this morning.. I've been watching since 7am and seen maybe 10 shots.. Shut the F up and show me some golf ABC came on at 9am EST and it's 9:25 and haven't seen someone play a shot yet
  4. There are too many to narrow it down to 1. I'm a headcase on the golf course plain and simple
  5. I'm a lefty, well.. sorta ambidextrous I guess but mostly left handed and left eye dominant. I played baseball and swung from both sides of the plate. More power right handed, better batting average left handed. I play golf right handed b/c the first set of clubs I got as a christmas gift was right handed. I struggle with consistency issues right handed. I work hard with my swing and have a coach but can't seem to get any sort of consistency. One day it's draw/hook the next fade/slice and can even come in between rounds. I'm frustrated and flustered to say the least Right now I don't care if I hit my 7 iron 100 yds as long as I know what's going to happen or if I miss, what the miss is going to be. I feel like I don't have bad habits left handed and can build from scratch sort of and get good habits. Anyone ever turned around?
  6. This drill from Shawn Clement might help. I also swing with my feet together to work on balance
  7. Well. I think 1 important part to remember is their fairways are a lot narrower than ours. 2nd.. the hole is a lot longer so the 5 iron off the tee really isn't going to cut it. 3rd. the longer you hit it the easier it is to get in trouble. wayward shots get worse And then there's the amount they shape the ball vs the doglegs etc.. Makes for some misses
  8. My father-in-law pays when I play his course with him. I just return the favor when I invite him to play with me. Figure it will even out in the wash you know? I don't think offering to pay would be uncouth though.
  9. Hmm.. not that I need shoes but those look nice for the price.
  10. I've got an older 13" Macbook that I use. HD has been upgraded and so has RAM so it works pretty well. I like some things about the MAC OS, Some things I'm not as big a fan of though but that goes with any OS. I have been looking at a MAC desktop for a "family computer". Post back after you use the iMac for a while, how you like it etc.. Right now my desktop is a linux mint x64 box. 2TB HD, Quad Core Q6600 proc and 8G of RAM.. Needless to say.. I like it
  11. I don't think you can really hit too many less than 100 yd shots to be honest. I work on those A LOT. I think you can overdo longer shots though. If I'm working on something I like to use a club i'm comfortable with for 20 to 30 balls and then if it's going well move to longer clubs. I really don't hit a lot of woods on the range. I'll work on them but no more than 15 to 20 swings probably b/c I get tired and lose my focus
  12. Course I play at did that. People used to bash driver through a dogleg left to make the 2nd shot closer and endangered people in the other fairway. It's OB now though
  13. Went to PGA Superstore today. Spent a lot of time on the monitor demo'ing practically every driver I could get my hands on. All I could say with this club is WOW.. Swing speed was about 105, launch angle between 12 and 13 and ball was spinning at 3500. Didn't feel like I was swinging at all. Came down to the A4 or the Speedline but liked the A4 a touch better Anyone else playing it?? Can't wait to hit the course tomorrow
  14. My wife has Junior League, Dinner Group, Bunco, Personal Trainer 2 days a week and works late. She's gone more than I am. It's funny, On wednesday she'll ask me what time I'm playing Saturday and Sunday to plan around it
  15. Happy Gilmore
  16. I have an Itsy Bitsy spider. I alternate between it and my old blade depending on how the putting is going. I like it
  17. If I feel uncomfortable over the ball I open up more. I get very closed when things are going bad and start coming over the top for pull hooks. Thanks for the tip, I'm going to give it a try and see what it feels like
  18. I've got the 09 burners. LOVE them. Everyone that's hit mine loves them. Easy to hit, mishit still get down the course. You can get them super cheap on ebay also
  19. I just buy 2 when she shows up if she's late Swing oil is GREAT
  20. I'm going to agree and focus on one word... FLUID. The ball will just get in the way of a fluid swing.
  21. It's a touch shorter than that though for me. It's a family thing. My little toes do the same thing but the rest are REALLY LONG. My first 3 fingers are longer than normal but my pinky is shorter than normal. It makes the fat end of the grip hard to hold on to. Choking up for me helps a lot. been thinking about smaller grips
  22. Nope.. working my butt off on my game and having fun doing it. Don't always see the results I want but having fun. I plan on being less than a 5 ASAP. Or bust my butt trying :D
  23. I've done that 3 times.. and yet only gotten an eagle (with a putt) on a par 5 once
