there has been some good advice in here so far but i will add to it 1. your diet is sh*t....it really is. Do some google searching on meal plans etc. but 100% you need to change your diet to see muscle definition, especially in your abs. You eat more crap in your diet than I do in a month! supper shouldnt be your 'largest" meal either. They should be equally sized w snacks in between to keep energy levels up. Usually u should be eating 5-6 times a day. 2. your cardio regimine seems good and like your doing a lot of it. Wanna see abs? keep this cardio up 3. dont focus too much on weight training itself to burn fat and see muscle definition. weight training will add size and not always definition. Combined w cardio and BODY WEIGHT traning is where you will see the quickest and BEST results. a half hour of hard core body weight training w cardio mixed in 3 times a week will do wonders. P90X and insanity will have some of this incorporated in it

@ the OP: after your reccomendation to look at "different" wedge companies i did some research on Miura, Bstone, Tourstage and a few others general consensus: Muira was a close second, but quite pricey for what you get i think I think Scratch has a quality product for an affordable price i chose the 8620 wedges for a few reasons: 1. Cast, not forged - hoping to be a little more durable and will last longer 2. ABC grooves - all bite no chew - these are the real deal from what i have read 3. Affordability - for the price i paid for both mine shipped to me, was less than an OTR VR Wedge or Vokey or anything comparable 4. Grind/Bounc Options - there are many and this is key when chossing a wedge IMO whatever you choose in the end, i think you would be very happy w a 2 wedge set up eithe in Miura or Scratch

although a good argument, I am going to only SLIGHTLY disagree ;) I have mentioned this before, and i should really find what magazine it is - im sure it's GOLF Magazine bu SI , but not 100% anyways..... in this magazine it outlines all the tournaments of the year, the previous winners and what was in their bag what i found most interesting....there was ONE, yes ONE person that used more than 2 wedges (not including the PW) - and it was Philly MAC AND only one person had one wedge w more than 60º of left.....want to guess who??? yep...Philly Mac again w a 64º wedge the majority of the field also uses a 2 wedge set up, usually consisting of a 5355 and a 5860 set up i too used a 52,56,60 setup for half of the year and most of my "golf career" if you can call it that i rarely used the 52 and when i did, it was ALWAYS a half choked down punch type shot that really wasnt all that pretty i have tried moving to a 54,58 set up, but found that I REALLY REALLY missed the 60 in the bag so....im now back to a set up which included a PW bent to 49º, a 54 and 60º if you practice and practice A LOT with a 60, it can become the most versatile club in your bag........the first 3 rounds with it, i was ready to toss it ni the bin but i spent a week on the range with it and on the practice green with it to master its technique want to know the key to a good LW - buying one w a grind and bounce option that suits your game it may take a few to test, but trusting this club WILL help you score lower - BUT YOU HAVE TO PRACTICe with it i think haveing LESS wedges is more beneficial to your game as it forces you to be creative and practice your short game more if you can just pull another club, it makes the decision hard, as you have 4 wedge choices pull that 54 60 and use some imagination and use what you practice on the course learn how to use lower lofted irons around the green like a 5 or 8i even a hybrid or fwy wood and your putter! my favourite shot is delofting a 60º and punching a lowe flyer that hits, and stops in its own tracks beside the hole this shot is SO USEFUL, especially as it is always windy here and you rarely can mess this one up

maybe buying shoes or jeans i have had that servicem but not buying clubs i would say 97% of the staff know me at GT..........seriously they even know my kids and wife's name......... what???????

First off welcome to the site! Second - as a beginner, at this point use whatever works and u dont need to spend a ton of cash If your a weekend warrior no set will REALLY improve your game, maybe make it SLIGHTLY easier, but i wouldnt count on it if you start to become more serious about getting better, opt for lessons w your local CPGA pro and take a few lessons first then you can treat yourself w some new gear just an opinion for you as to what bag to use above? again, use what you feel most comfortable holding and have fun w the game

i have a 2009 Dodge 1500 truck w a bent left axel and missing a right rear track bolt track bolt a result of a mod shop doing a poor job taking out my lift kit (another warranty issue) and the bent axel a result of a hit and run i was in last year, that was never fixed....now i get to fight w my insurance company about that one....fun fun just the 60 really needs replaced, but you know i have ADD and couldnt possible have mismatching wedges D ;) really i dont NEED anything right now, as im a few months away from golf anyways the 60 i have now is just fine for indoor practice sessions ill see what my insurance company says about the bent axel -

yea i saw your posts on Miura wedges too they look sick a little out of my price range tho i have an opportunity to get some new 8620 Scratch wedges for $170 shipped, which normally would cost me about $240 shipped but still not sure about it the 1018's have a shape i like a bit more i think (more sqaure leading edge and toe), a smoke satin finish instead of chrome still not sure what to do tho -
i am thinking of ordering up some Scratch wedges, but cant decide by pics what they are similarily shaped like they say its a "traditional" shaped head.....well what the hell is that? Old Cleveland, New Cleveland, Vokey, Nike, Mizuno....what? I prefer a wedge w a straighter leading edge, not rounded, a more square toe, not rounded basically the SV Tour's i have now is a shape that i like, or a Vokey-weight too but they are getting worn and grooving a nice wear spot in the middle of the wedge time to replace anyone who owns or has seen a Scratch 8620 wedge in real life, can you help me compare it? even have pics beside another wedge to how me? im not one to buy a wedge without knowing what it feels like or is shaped like these are my scoring clubs, so i need to be confident in them thanks for your help

yea im stoked everyone is pleased with it seems to be the general consensus mines in but cant pick it up till after xmas.....the rules u know?? ;) heheh! stoked up to try it out in Phoenix this winter

Captain Morgan Spiced is my choice for sure plain..never man i didnt realize how many calories were in eggnog either, its like a days worth of food almost! hahah! and then to add booze to it?? man u might as well eat KFC my cousin makes a "nogalizer" its basically a paralizer but instead of milk, add eggnog its actually really good - coke/pepsi, nog and spiced rum.....now that's good sh*t merokee!
-
to say the least! hahah! no sh*t! ;)

dude great story, glad to hear it turned out positive picture is sick....thats quite the hole tho hey???
-
i find grooving a swing with one club, that mant times in a row un-productive because really, how many 3i shots are you going to have in one round? and how many 3i shots shots will you have in a row, in one round? I rarely hit more than 2 balls in a row with one club to one target, on full swings on wedge shots, i only hit max 3 balls to one target and with that wedge, then switch but hey.....you got to a 1.6 somehow, so stick to what works
-
the pic looks like it says 56/06º???? no??? bounce is a preference on wedges me...im a digger and like to take a decent divot w my clubs (especially wedges) having more bounce allows the club to ...well..."bounce" off the turf rather than dig to China on my 56º i have or like anything above 12º of bounce and even on my 60º, i prefer more than 9º max 11º some guys prefer less on a lob wedge, but not me if you dont practice w a 60 with a lot of bouncem you do run the risk of skulling it, as the leading edge will sit higher at address, than a lower bounce LW would but skill also plays a factor into this if you are to wristy and flip the club alot, regardless of bounce, you will hit it fat or skull it all day long keeping a flat left arm/wrist, hitting down on the ball and accelerating through is the key to consistent wedge shots
-
to each his own for sure i would never play that wedge, and not because of the name of it either 1. bounce is waaay to low for a 56º 2. it looks like a spoon (too round of a leading edge and toe) but hey, play what works for YOU, right???
-
never tried an Iomic other than a putter grip IMO, why spend the money on an Iomic, when (from what ive read) the Itomic's are just as good or better i just picked up 30 for 2.79/grip a few weeks ago when Golfsmith was having their sale i will have grips for a couple seasons now, or sell them to my buddies - i have converted all my playing partners only thing tho, i dont like them on my driver i prefer a MCND on that - just feels a little better on the big dog for some reason
-
well this lasted all of 4 days........ meh.. just picked up a brand new blended set of Nike VR Split Cavities 3-7 & TW Blades 8-PW for $295USD Merry Christmas to me!
