  1. +1- The chunky soles are a total turn off, and the thick toplines look like 2x4's at address. I bought a set of X-18's, great irons, but the chunkiness look couldn't be overcome. Go with what YOU like, considering you're the one that is going to be using them.
  2. Good buy! I bought 2 dozen One Platinum practice balls off Ebay, who cares if it says "practice", its just easier to distinguish your ball from everyone elses
  3. 2 dozen Nike One Tour's. Golf Galaxy had a 2 for $59 special on the One balls and I had a $10 off coupon; figured I'd give them a try, I like the One Platinums so maybe the Tour's are comparable
  4. Craig Stadler has a slight forward press to get things moving; just watched the episode of Playing tips from the pros where he was featured. It does help to relax the muscles, instead of being rigid and tense at address.
  5. Just the look on Pitt's face trying to say "arrivederci" was priceless......Avy-ver-der-chi
  6. My addiction has gotten so bad that if I even mention golf, my girlfriend will probably beat me with my driver.
  7. For those who saw it: Did any of you want to shout "Yeah baby" during the scene with Mike Myers? All I could think of was Austin Powers lol
  8. You are now in the hands of the SS (raises hands). My hands, to be exact! That's a bingo!
  9. We ain't in the prisoner takin bidness, we in the Nazi killin bidness, and cousin, bidness is a boomin I saw it last night and want to see it again
  10. It's the sound that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside. I think of aerial fireworks going off when I hear it, which makes me think of our short summer up here
  11. Land mines....Ball hits a land mine and is counted as a lost ball and/or o.b. penalty
  12. I'm in Syracuse and can't believe how terrible summer has been, but I shouldn't be so surprised I guess. I've played in the rain, been rained on after teeing off and what not; I'm really sick of it, but I'm afraid of what winter is gonna bring us. The weather has made it interesting, especially the "water hazards" that appear then are gone the next day.
  13. Its a 4-wood, but the head of my SQ Dymo is tiny also. An old Ping Eye2 7-wood I have in the garage has a bigger head, at least twice the size, and its a persimmon head.
  14. I like my Sumo2 square driver. Eventhough it looks like a waffle maker on a stick, it launches the ball high and long for me. I probably won't buy another driver for a while, its cool to be square(at least for me). I'd keep using your ginormous driver until your game develops further. After it improves, I'd look around for a decent driver; nothing wrong with decent used clubs or models from a few years back.
  15. Blade,Ping Zing G5i...I bought it because I needed a putter and it was blue.
  16. I took advantage of that, too. Bought a 56* and 60* to replace my Burner SW and LW, then bought a CG14 52* the following day
  17. I want one of those, are those next to the drivers The last trip to Golf Galaxy, I left with two CG10's and a CG14
  18. I like playing alone when I want to practice, work on certain parts of my game or try out new clubs. There are times I'll play 3 or more balls off the tee with different clubs, drop balls certain distances out from the green or wander the woods looking for balls. It's nice knowing that I won't hold anyone else up.
  19. I like the feel of the Platinum, off the tee and around the green. I'll either play the Platinums or the ProV1's, both are equal in my mind. The TA2/Spins I fell in love with also, I think they are a tad better than the Platinums, IMO.
  20. I do this without even thinking of it, I probably do it in my sleep, too!
  21. Geese A duck that thinks its a goose Deer munching grass in the fairway Bullfrogs Leopard frogs Blue Heron Woodchucks Muskrat Motorcycle
  22. When I was young(8-10 years) I used to think Mizuno was the raingear and umbrella company
  23. Callaway X-18R's......My first set of actual clubs. I was using Turbo Power sticks, but now I wish I just bought the Callaway's to begin with. I do love my Mizuno MP Fli-Hi hybrid iron, though. Maybe a Mizuno set will be in my bag in the future(as long as my girlfriend doesn't find out)
  24. I'm glad I'm not the only one that does this. This is for everyone that plays courses that have flocks of birds: You know the exact time and location of a flock of geese at any given time; and can describe the path they take and which tee box they prefer. When you can walk down a fairway, look at a divot, and give an exact date when you made it. When you leave work with your golf shoes on to save time because of rush hour traffic
  25. Hitting a great drive, then ruining it by blading my chip shot. Mosquitoes flying in between my glasses and face Finding 12 lost balls in the woods but not finding MY ball(I saw it enter here...) My brain getting in the way is frustrating too
