  1. I wonder how many strokes the players in our men's league could shave off if alcohol was not allowed ?
  2. I shoot way below par when I only count the good shots.
  3. I 100% disagree with this statement. Muscle is muscle, there is no such thing as "lean"or "compact" muscle. Lean-ness is a term used to describe the amount of bodyfat one is carrying.
  4. i believe the average golfer could take 10 strokes off of their score if their up and in percentage were that high. I've seen tons of people, myself included (but I'm working on it!), that hit their approach, then chip, then 3 putt. Thankfully my putter is pretty good these days... but my chipping/pitching is horrendus.
  5. Any time you load the body over what it's used to, you will get sore. Besides stretching, doing more frequent/less intense workouts will help with the soreness.
  6. Pffft. There are twice that many guys on this site alone that can carry 300+, many of them still in high school...
  7. To the guys who are better teachers than Hank Haney: Please come to my CC and fix my game. I could use the help, and I know you will be alot less expensive than Hank is.
  8. I was about to "hell yeah" this response... until I realized I wrote it 5 months ago.
  9. I play game improvement irons proudly. I play golf for fun. Hitting the ball high and straight is more fun than hitting it all over the place.
  10. I've been up there and ordered tea in a restaurant. Whatever the concoction they brought me was, it wasn't tea.
  11. +1 on diet and exercise. If you've never eaten healthy food consistently and been on a regular, challenging exercise program, you probably don't even know what feeling good is like. Sometimes I let things slip, get lazy and before you know it I'm feeling "bleh" and can't figure out why.
  12. There are no cart fees for members, but range balls cost $2.50/bag. I tried to trade the cart for free range balls, but they wouldn't do it. A couple of days later this deal came up. I guess the board listens after all!
  13. The CC I belong to just decided that for $100, you can get all the range balls you want, all year long. I've never been much of a range guy, but with this deal that all might change!
  14. If people are crowding you on the tee, they have bigger issues than cigar smoke.
  15. That's the crux of it in a nutshell, being respectful of others. That goes both ways. Smokers should really be careful about their debris, and non-smokers should realize it's not the end of the world if they occasionally get a whiff of cigar smoke.
  16. Nope, none at all. Enjoy your day, good sir.
  17. Given that last information, go with option B all the way. You can hone your game on those courses and treat yourself to the nicer courses once in awhile also. I belong to a CC that is private, but not exclusive. I go out alone alot, or with my daughter, and practice on the course instead of standing at the range whacking balls. It's cool to play the same shot 2-3 different ways, to weigh the various outcomes and learn what works best for you when playing for score.
  18. I'm not naming names (rhymes with floorputt), but does it hurt when you swing a club with that stick up your ass?
  19. I got it just before christmas, and played it a couple of times. I can't putt for crap on that game, and pretty much quit playing it about a week after I got it.
  20. The pros do it. Ego demands that we emulate the pros, even if it ends in disaster 90% of the time. Very few people are honest with themselves about their game, although I'm a firm believer that most people who have never broken 100 could be playing low-90's golf if they would manage the course to their strengths.
  21. Looks like a resounding NO... bunch of cheap bastards!
  22. Sounds like you get matched up with some serious dicks.
  23. Is your integrity worth a golf club?
  24. You can spend anywhere from $50 to $5000 on a set of clubs... so reasonably priced is a pretty subjective term.
  25. Get a bag that fits your needs. Y'all are killing me with your color-coordinated "do my panties match my visor?" threads! They definately need a rainbow smilie.
