Thursday- Carson Valley Golf Course, Gardnerville, NV, 92 (48/44) Friday - Sunridge Golf Course, Carson City, NV, 91 (49/42) Both days were rough. I struck the ball well, but my aim was not true. I totaled 5 OB penalties over the two rounds (3 on Thursday, and 2 on Friday). It wasn’t just my driver, even a couple irons led me astray. I put the driver away and focused on course management with the irons and seemed to play better. This is something I plan to focus on in the future until I can figure out my aiming/swing path issues.

Great performance!! Rory put on a show for the final round with a hell of a finish on 18, and Morikawa following suit.

I think he is very hot right now, but I don’t think he can pull off the grand slam. I wouldn’t put it past him to win another major, but not all of them this year.

Great review. I had one of the old Mizuno drivers (MP-630, or something like that, I think) and it wasn't the best driver by any means. I have since shied away from Mizuno woods and drivers, but I will say that these new offerings are intriguing. So much so that I will be hitting them this weekend when I am in Reno (NE Nevada doesn't have much in the way of "stocked" pro shops) while I am shopping for a new fairway wood, and possibly hybrid. Everything I am reading seems to be pointing in the right direction, so I'm going to give them a shot. Thanks for the review!!

I went with the MCC Plus 4 Standard. I have used these grips in the past and really liked them. My last set were Tour Velvet and I didn’t care for the feel as much as I do the MCC, so I went back. I had a gift card from my in-laws, so these grips were pretty much free. Can’t go wrong there. I’ll report back after I play a few rounds on how the grips hold up as far as moving on the shaft.

I just did my entire bag with new grips. I did them all with the air compressor set to about 50psi. The hardest part was prepping and removing the old grips and tape. Once I got to putting the new grips on, it took about 15 seconds per grip. Quick and easy. I tried taking one off just to see how it worked; just as easy as putting them on. Now we’ll see how they hold up as far as slipping and twisting is concerned when I play on Thursday and Friday.

Says he is going to play "as of now" and will play 9 more practice holes today. When he is in the field, I feel like he is always a threat to win.

I just ordered my copy. I’m excited to get to work and practice more effectively!!

I like your style!! 👌🏻👌🏻 As far fetched as it may seem, it’s hard to completely count him out of the discussion.

Agreed. Wet/soggy conditions changes the way the entire tournament plays out.

It's always fun to watch Tiger and the atmosphere he brings. Even if he doesn't win it or place well, there's always that chance that he plays the one amazing round he's so well known for.

I’ve been trying to get tickets for years. My parents went to a couple practice rounds a few years ago and brought me back several items from the course. Man, I love those items, as small and trivial as they may be, there’s something about The Masters logo on a ball marker, or ball, or hat that actually came from Augusta.

Quick 9 holes with the wife this morning. 47. Didn’t feel good at all. My play around the greens was terrible today. Didn’t have a single par. 3 doubles, and 6 bogeys on a par 35. Painful to look at that scorecard. There’s plenty of work to do here in the very near future.

Feeling a bit rusty today with an 89 (43/46) on my home course here in Spring Creek, NV. Course is dry and firm. Can't wait for everything to green up and become decently playable again. Going out again on Sunday to hopefully get more into the swing of things, no pun intended.

I've been wanting to try the air compressor method. I use this method for my son's dirt bike grips and it works great. I have a new set of grips showing up tomorrow; maybe I'll give it a shot and see how I like it.

I've done several re-grip jobs over the years. As mentioned above, it takes WAY more solvent in the grip than you would think to make sure that everything slides on as it should. I usually fill the grip about half full of solvent and slosh it around before dumping it over the tape on the club. I catch the excess solvent and reuse it for the rest of the grip job. Seems to work pretty well for me.

Have You Ever Taken Your Shoes/Socks Off to Hit a Golf Shot?

I don't carry a spare set of shoes in my bag, so this isn't an option for me. It takes a few seconds to strip the shoes and socks, then put them back on while the other players are hitting their next shot. I have seen others do it as well. Golf towels are for more than just clubs and balls haha. -
This. This just goes to show how our society reacts when they don’t want to confront someone for their actions. Most people would rather sit back and pretend it didn’t happen so that we can get on with the show and be a part of the “happy” pieces of the broadcast. It doesn’t matter to them that he lashed out inappropriately, just so long as they are seen supporting his amazing 🙄award reception.

I just can’t get over the fact that he wasn’t escorted off of the property. If I would have slapped one of you guys like that at an awards ceremony, I’m pretty sure I would have have an unfriendly escort out the door.

Welcome, and congratulations on your dedication and success. Keep up the hard work and you will see many more of the same benefits.

Nearly every green at my local/home course is open in the front. 3 holes have elevated greens, and 2 of the par 3’s have either water or pits between the tees and pin. Other than those, almost every other green is open from the approach, at least half of the green.

Definitely have. Had a ball end up on the edge of a pond that had an abrupt drop off to about 2’. I was playing a buddy for money/beers that day and I wasn’t about to give him any extra strokes!! I still bought beers as he beat me so it didn’t pan out. -
I love my Mizuno irons. I’ve had 3 sets, and I’m about to get fitted for a new set. Like you, I started with a cheaper box set then upgraded to Mizuno. I’ve never looked back over 19 years of playing them. There is no feel like a Mizuno, in my opinion. Welcome to the Mizuno family!!
