  1. I disagree with you on the Liveview camera. I have no affiliation to the company at all. My reasoning is simple. For me and I will bet most people looking at gross details of their swing is the most important thing. This camera at 60 fps is fine. It is easy to use, so easy once you set it up you don't have to do anything. You can put lines on the screen and use them for both the video and the mirror function when you try to feel the positions. It starts and stops the recording so you don't get excess video. Simply put I believe it is so easy to use that I will use it more then a cell phone setup. Using a cell phone by yourself is difficult. The greatest tool in the world is worthless if it is too difficult to use so you don't use it. As an instructor you are in a totally different situation because you can handle the camera when the person is swinging and use a V1 type app. You also can use the increased frame rate more then an average golfer taking video of their swing. So respectfully I disagree with your dismissal of its usefulness for the average golfer.
  2. I holed out on a par five for eagle yesterday.
  3. Ok, I see. I am very fortunate to have Foresight GC2 with HMT. That gives me very accurate club head data and trying to see that in video is not something I need. Like most things if it is difficult to do people won’t do it. This makes video very easy for me. So this is very beneficial to me. What is the current best solution for 240fps?
  4. What are you trying to see at 120 FPS that you can not see at 60?
  5. I searched around and there does not seem to be a thread on the Live View Sports Camera? I am guessing I am not using the right terms because this camera has been out for a while. I just bought one and have used it once for practice. It is a clever solution to videoing yourself. It also works as a mirror with lines. An explanation of its functionality is it connects to your phone or tablet with its own wifi. You place your phone or tablet down by the ball and can see what you are doing in practice motions. Where it excels is that you can draw lines on the virtual mirror and check your movements. Like swing plane, butt line.... The second thing it does really well is record when it hears impact. So you only have a 4 second video for each swing. The video quality is 60 FPS and OK, but it is good enough for what you need to see. I used it inside with OK lighting and it was pretty good. When I was searching this site I saw an app with similar functionality, I did not search deeply into that so my knowledge is limited. It's $350 so not cheap but within my budget. I am pleased with it. Is there anyone else out there using this camera?
  6. I could be mistaken but he is describing a swing where the body in not as involved as it should be. That hips, rotation and weight transfer is muted or missing. It is caused by focusing on hitting the ball not hitting through the ball. Get rid of the ball and do what I said, imagine you are going to throw the club to right field (if your a righty), It will bring in the ball throwing motion we all use, weight transfer and rotation. Grab an old club and actually throw it. If you have that thought when swinging the club it can help break habits. It works for me, a pickup in club head speed with less effort. My strike in not very steep and this helps me with weight transfer and gives me a more descending blow. Good luck!
  7. A game changer for me was to swing at 80% not 100 or 100+. I found that I can actually hit the ball further and certainly a lot more accurately. The center of the club face is a very powerful thing! I have access to a Foresight GC2 launch monitor with the HMT (head measurement) add on. I am more aware of my swing dynamics than most people. The consistency of a nice smooth swing is a game changer. I also have learned that a hard swing is not necessarily a fast swing.
  8. An interesting thought is to feel like you are going to throw the club. Try some practice swings, it effects everything.
  9. I am not saying you need it but try the Ping G410. You can set the lie angle flat to stop the hook. I had the same issue. At a plus three I don't know that you will find benefit but it would be interesting to try. You might try the 2 hybrid in place of a driving iron. I be you would find it easy to hit from the deck.
  10. The back swing is a reasonable speed. The transition is slower which allow me to maintain my balance and accuracy with the club. I would bet if I swung hard and swung "easy" and within myself an onlooker would hardly notice. If you were able to measure the tension in my muscles you would see a radical difference.

  12. I was working on my swing in the early spring and I had watched a video about a slow transition a Shawn Clement video. My swing tempo was always fast. On a day when it got really fast my play was a disaster. I was working on a slow transition and trying "moderate effort" swings to learn the feeling. I was hitting on a launch monitor at the time and the numbers were interesting. My swing speed was near normal and my distance was near normal. I decided to work on the slow transition and lower effort swing. First time out on the course with that thought I played an above average round and my misses were very acceptable. As I continued on I started finding the center of the club face frequently which was a new experience for me. After that I picked up distance. Since then my handicap dropped two points. I am having back issues so I don't practice much and still was able to improve. I think if your skill is very high you might be able to contain the extra speed but slowing down allows me to have a better sequence. Food for thought.
  13. I know people that play with that strong grip! Not well but they do it.
  14. If I look at the data the system produces in the app it looks OK. If I look at the app distances in real time and compare it to something I trust more it is wrong. Sometimes very wrong. I have played without it for a couple weeks and it is a bit of a relief, not having to edit the results on every hole.
  15. Thanks for the reply, great information. On of this things I like about Arccos is that it flew under the radar, the pro version looked a little better, no tagging and a black "thing on your belt" not red. I don't know if I want to try a new system. For $100 at least live is not a huge investment.
  16. At the end of the round how many corrections need to be made? Can you look at your phone as you go and fix any errors?
  17. OK, my choice of words was poor. How about the course has several areas where you could get in a situation where you were putting through areas with greater than 4% slope. As I was measuring the greens it became apparent the slopes were more than Aim point was designed for so I measured less and less points. I am not sure of your point? The question was simply is there a logic or mechanism to use the book to judge a putt with greater than 4% slope. Then everyone started saying it was impossible to have greater than 4%? You are formally invited to play and experience it for yourself. I'll buy you a meal and beer after.
  18. I was an Arccos user and recently given it up. I tried to use my Apple Watch linked to the software and the yardages were way off. It made me question all the data. That along with all the extra shots it seemed to add around the green and I had had enough. I see Game Golf came out with a "Pro" unit. I have found some internet chatter and none of it was good about both the hardware and the company. Has anyone tried this?
  19. I measured it with a digital level. I had a putt Wednesday where I got above the hole and had to putt 90 degrees to the pin to have the putt roll 4 feet past from 20 feet. I did hit the uphill putt for par. The person that I was playing with and I then hit several putts each from that spot and my first putt was the best, or at least left the best leave for the second. If I had had my phone in my pocket I would have taken video. I'll try and get some video it is a difficult green. If you get into the rough behind the hole you are pretty much doomed.
  20. I found some photos which might remind you what 9 is. Here is a view from the tee. Right is OB, It is a dog leg right. If you go over the tree's you can aim to the front of the green. Here is a view from the green back left of the green at the tee, The trees on the left third are the ones you have to come over to aim to the valley Here is the green, hard to understand the slope from the photo, that's the men's grill in the background. At the annual invite the crazyness that goes on in the grill at those windows is hilarious. They bet on everything, who will pull the pin, puts chips, sand shots all of it. A better shot of the green, the slope does not translate well into a photo. Since I am posting photos, I was a photographer at the event. We have heather, Fred not the most pleasant guy you ever met. This is a mild green, 14 All the player (except one) were great guys happy to be there really a lot of fun. Funk with his son on the bag Lehman Watson
  21. I think the 15 is a typo. I tried to take a photos. It does not translate well. Here is three, camera level standing at the bottom. 9 is uphill the whole way. If you get above the hole and they get the green speeds up you are in trouble.
  22. Where on 9 is that? If you have to putt through 6 using AIMpoint classic its 6. I don’t understand express, perhaps that is different.
  23. I have been playing this course for 11 years, yes every putt is not above 4. But if you are out of position you can get slopes above 4 for sure. The new greens keeper is putting pins in new spots. If it ever stops raining he will find that they are not playable. The ball will roll back to your feet. These are difficult greens. They are not subtle.
  24. No it won't be 6-7 all day but many will be over the 4% the the classic Aimpoint goes to .
