  1. I play the g10s and are great autopilot irons, long as the ball lands on the face you'd be in pretty good shape. I would not replace your wedges though because you need that sole to work around the green. Doing a lot of the wedge shots with soles that big is very difficult to say the least.
  2. Most modern wedges have similiar spins, I just prefer vokeys because of the sole grind, look, and feel of them. For some reason I can spin them more, probably through making better contact. I hate the look of cleveland wedges also.
  3. Just over the past 2 weeks lately I've developed some serious side spin. I didn't change up my ball, I either use DT SoLos or NXT Tours depending on what I pull out of my bag. I can square them and send the ball perfectly straight and high, but when they land they roll back maybe 1-3 feet(more on the 52) but move 3-4 left or right (25% left, 75% right) It doesn't have to do with the break of the green as its consistent across all holes. I'm not really pulling or slicing them because they go perfectly straight until they land. Any ideas? Really killing the accuracy when it counts and seeing the divots is simply impressive. I'll probably take some pictures during my round tomorrow.
  4. Golf is about 90% confidence, its more about what you're comfortable with when you step up to the plate. My confidence comes from vokeys.. has been ever since I've played. You set it down and just expect it land exactly like you want to with the silky smooth feel. And if you cant stop a vokey on a dime then you're probably hitting rocks instead of golf balls.
  5. Why do people think these pay way too much for anything? Because they like them, it fits there game, and it gives them confidence. Nothing more needed, I hate the soft feel of odysseys. Yet I love the high toe, aircraft aluminum insert, and feel of my scotty cameron.
  6. my 52 I've had for over a year still continues to shred my DT solos like its it's job... luckily titleist has a cutproof guarentee where I can send it in and get a free sleeve. http://www.titleist.com/customerserv...sp?faqid=64566
  7. I must say I'm biased because I'm addicted to big long clubs, but I would really give the G15 a whirl if you like long and straight. Few quotes from golf digest (where its the performance leader) It looks so traditional, yet plays not so traditional. I switched from a Nike Dymo2 to a Ping G15 late last season and picked up 35 yards (also because of custom fitting, but I'm sure the head didn't hurt)
  8. The best part about pings is how they've made the game so easy. I step up to the plate on the tee with my G15 and I realize that no matter where I hit it on the clubface, I'm gonna be in pretty good shape assuming I turn my hands right. I've hit one on the far far end of the toe and only lost 10 yards, still went straight. How? I couldn't tell you. My g10s are very similiar. I don't plan on working them; ever. I just aim, point, swing, and they go there. The biggest problem is that I don't care where I make face contact, and I can't tell, and it doesn't matter, which isnt too healthy with my 3 wood, 2 iron, and wedges.
  9. I'm one the only person I've ever seen that plays 5 wedges. It gives me complete control from 150 yards in. I didnt feel the need for a 3 or 5 iron, which I want to hit a distance of either of those I just hit the iron ahead of it soft. I have a Ping G10 PW, then titliest 52, 56, 60, and 64 I recently bought the 64, and I have to say its my favorite club in my bag. Literally I can make it sit with maybe one bounce on a simple 20 yard pitch shot.
  10. So I was bored at work one day, i'm strolling through titleist's website for the hundreth time, and I notice the DT Rolls and DT Carrys (I haaaaaaaate them) have been replaced with the old DT SoLos Anyone else think this was a great idea and love the DT SoLos?
  11. I have the green finder for my curve. It is lightweight, simple, and to the point. It does everything a range finder should do, and is easy, lightweight, and doesn't eat battery (like golf logix) I would say demo both, but I much prefer greenfinder
  12. More than anything I would reccomend some forged irons. What irons is up to your preference, pretty much any manufacturer's irons can be "your best" I'm currently a fan of Mizuno Irons and probably will soon replace my beloved G10s with a set of Mizunos.
  13. I play a 52 56 and a 60 or 62. I feel a need for lob wedge when shooting uphill and for full shots from 50-70 yards.
  14. backup driver while g15 head is getting reconnected to the shaft.
  15. Callaway is the one company thats known for consistently making 4 woods. Its a decent club if the 3 wood is too much for you off the deck, but it makes par 5s seem that much longer.
  16. was playing a round of 18 today and my head goes flying around 8th hole.... drive was short and went around 230, and I look down and I didn't see my clubhead... No clue why this happened, contacted PING and they are gonna give me a new head and shaft soon as this one gets to their shop. long day >< time for the next 2-3 weeks to be closely acquainted with the 3 wood.
  17. assuming the way the ladies played at the tourney up there... fair game for him to pick up if they land in his yard. kidding of course, dont think they were that bad.
  18. I play regular shafts, but am on the borderline of regular or stiff. I play stiff wedges because its more accurate, rest of my clubs are reg though
  19. the TFC shaft is a higher launching shafts than most other I've seen, along with the driver head you get a REALLY high driver. I will probably replace with a diamana blueboard at my local demo day.
  20. those are counterfiet "clones" Ping clubs are made exclusively in the USA. Ping can modify the irons to fit your desired neds.
  21. the head angle has much more "consistant" effect on the shot then the shaft. Shaft helps, but head sets the basis for the shot, and shaft modifies it generally.
  22. this. And a generally more reliable way is to get the new head, but that is generally more expensive than the new shaft.
  23. I'm also curious what they were thinking when they put in the 46 inch shaft.... seriously ? I would definately reccomend a regular size shaft, heck I might even switch over to a 43 inch one for even more control.
  24. I only play a 3 wood at the moment, I used to have a 5 wood but I really never used it. I carry a 19 degree hybrid now which also serves as a rescue club. It easier to hit out of the rough and I have no problem hitting it in any lie. With modern clubs I really dont see a point to more than 1 wood.
  25. generally.. titliest dcomp - most forgiving, highest trajectory, biggest 460cc head titliest d2 - medium launch, standard 460 cc head titliest d3 - low launch, 440 cc head I didnt find any of them forgiving at all when compared to most other modern drivers. more info http://www.titleist.com/golfclubs/drivers/default.asp
