Anyone work with Tim Mosel for club fittings? I was thinking about having him tinker with my irons. Check my lie and get a shaft fitting. How is it hitting in that little shop of his? Seems cramped.

Played bright and early this morning teeing off at 6:44 and wound up shooting my first sub 80 round posting a 79. My driving has been steady since purchasing a Ping G10 with a Diamana shaft.I'm very happy with it. My putting has been good, nothing to complain about there. If I could only get my middle game to follow suit, I could really enjoy myself out there. I am so inconsistant with my iron play its disgusting. Topping, chunking, flubbing, you name it. Thats why I posted last week for advice on swing training devices to help with irons. I got a few suggestions which I am going to look into(thanks to all by the way)and see if they will help with my tempo. I really feel that is were the problem lies. Thanks for letting me vent, have a good week everyone.

Hope this is not a repeated thread, I'd like to get feedback on some good swing training devices for iron play. They can be store bought or home made, just anything you guys feel have been beneficial to you. My iron play is so inconsistant, it is really the main part of my game that needs the most attention. There are times I'm playing and my irons are so bad it looks like I don't belong on the golf course. So thank you in advance, and I hope you guys have some good advice for me!

I was able to demo the 58's,52's, and 62's at the beginning of the season, and IMO the 52's had a very solid yet soft feeling hit. I would love to pick up the 52's, but my Grads have been treating me very well lately.

Last (Golf) Thing You Bought?
zunofan replied to JYB's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
At Golfsmith I picked up a new driver, Ping G10. Heard alot of good things about it and for $179.00 I thought it was a good deal. -
Thanks for that, I will definately look into those labels.

I know this is a long shot but I thought I'd post anyway. I lost my sand wedge on Sun 6/6 at Bear Brook G.C. in Newton, NJ. The club is a Mizuno Faldo NF-56. It is an older club probably 20+ years old, nothing great. It has more sentimental value than it is worth, so, If you happened to pick it up or know someone who did, please return it to the club so I can pick it up and be happy again. Thanks

Just received mine today. Someone let me try theirs at our course before tee off, they were pretty responsive! I ordered the hitting board with twelve birdieballs. They have a special now where you get 15% off plus an extra dozen birdieballs. So, I'm looking forward to trying them out . I will post after I've used them a bit.

I've heard he is really good, but I'd rather find someplace outside to get fitted. The place in Flanders is called Golf Zone I believe. Someone from Mizuno recommended them. They are supposed to get their new fitting system in Jan or Feb. The fitter has to be good too, you know what I mean. I thought about the country clubs, but I wasn't sure if they did fittings for the public. I'll check them out also. If I go that route and barter for a round of golf, I'll let you know, you come meet me and we'll play! Thanks for the advice

DJYoshi, do you recommended that place in CT? I'm from Morris Co. and I plan on getting fitted in the spring. Is there anyone in our area you like for fittings? Lessons also. Thanks.

I had one on my TM Mezza Monza and I liked it at first. It really helped with my wrists, but I had to get rid of it. I couldn't get used to the added weight. They are heavy!

A: Mizuno of course! Q: If you could choose any three people to play a round of golf with who would they be? Past or present, golfers and non-golfers, etc......

Lovin' the Srixon Z-Star

Enjoy and have fun with them! I wanted to take the plunge this season and get into the 52's or 62's, but i couldn't retire my Grads! They've been so good to me!

Say NO! to gps/yardage computers
zunofan replied to Topanga's topic in Balls, Carts/Bags, Apparel, Gear, Etc.
When you are dealing with a course with wrong distances its nice to have the accuracy of gps. What about the pros, their caddys walk off every possible yardage they can. The golfer isn't just relying on sprinkler heads and yardage posts. Its nice to have the same advantages. -
Love the Srixon Z Star!

From what I hear, Skycaddie makes the best gps. I don't think they rely solely on satellites, I think they actually have people walk off all the yardages for the courses they have in their database. What I don't understand is whats the difference between the $200 model and the $500 model besides color screens.

Hey Shindig, thanks for the input. Part of my problem is my ball contact. I'm scooping not hitting down and thru the ball so I think grass will be better than a mat, no? I'm more concerned with the fact, do I need technology for a fitting not lessons. I think a good teacher with no technology will be fine. But can a thorough fitting be done with only a lie board.
-
Thanks Dave, I appreciate the input. I think I'm going to pick up Jack's book also.

I am interested in getting some opinions on finding a facility for lessons and for a club fitting. In regards to the lessons, should I look for a facility with a grass driving range or would a range with mats be ok? As for the fitting, inside with alot of technology, or outside where you can see your ball flight, but with little to no technology? I do understand that the teacher and the fitters experience definatly play an important part in the decision making. I am new to The Sand Trap and I look forward to all your responses. Thanks

I'm a new member this year at The Knoll West C.C., in New Jersey www.knollgolfclub.com . We were just voted best municipal golf course in New Jersey by Golf Digest (Aug 09).

I'll say Tiger. If Tiger can stay healthy he'll have no problem breaking Jack's and others records. Heck, he's almost there already! He'll probably do it playing less golf than Jack did. Don't forget there weren't as many endorsements in Jack's day he HAD to play every week!
