  1. I guess you're right. I'll edit my post to clarify what I meant.
  2. I hit my PW 115, my 7i 145 (carry). I swing my driver around 95 mph (stiff shaft). How far should I be hitting the ball with driver, 4w, and 3h? (Decent contact). I just want an opinion about reasonable yardages to shoot for at that swing speed or lower.
  3. Maintaining my "spine angle." (ie inclination to the ground ) Trying to not kill my long irons and woods.
  4. Go purdue!
  5. So I have come to the realization that my driver/4-wood/hybrid shafts are all too long for me (basically, when I choke down an inch on the clubs, they go straight and I don't hit the ground behind the ball any more). I think I am borderline on stiff shafts (driver SS 97 or so) and I wanted to know if it was possible to have these shafts cut down an inch and not make the shafts much stiffer.
  6. I started with the T3 set. Careful with the driver, it dents on the bottom VERY easily.
  7. Is there anything wrong in starting the backswing (or just doing this in setup) by making the wedge/cock and then taking the club back? i.e. what is done in your drill, minus the forward weight shift. This helps me strike the ball properly. If I go straight back from neutral, I don't seem to be able to get the necessary forward hands at impact.
  8. I've often heard of the cracking whip downswing analogy. Can someone comment on where and how this is done in the swing?
  9. High MOI drivers refers to rotational inertia. I've tried the square drivers, and just can't get over the look. I actually hit the more traditional geometry better (because I don't feel like I'm hitting the ball with a George Foreman grill on a stick).
  10. If you really just want feedback on hitting it pure and striking the ball well with irons, don't buy another set of clubs. Get this http://www.tourstriker.com/

  12. Your backswing is WAY too flat, and makes you come WAY over the top. Thus, slice. Also, you are flipping through impact instead of keeping your hands in front of the ball.
  13. Do a Google search on Warrior golf scam. I've gotten one too. It is a scam, don't respond, just toss it and pretend it never happened. I'll do even better. Here you go http://www.complaintsboard.com/compl...lf-c39238.html
  14. Not necessarily tempo, but your timing/sequencing. Not the speed, but the order. Push slice is when your hands get stuck and you are trying to flip to compensate. Get those hands through. If you are very fatigued in a round, it does become difficult to get your hands through the impact zone.
  15. look up the irons on the pga trade in website and go from there. Staff bag might be pretty difficult to sell.
  16. AP2 and MP52s I doubt will give you much more "consistency" at all. If you want consistency across the clubface, I'd go with the Burners or Slingshots. TM advertises that there inverted cone thingy helps increase ball speed across the face. The higher trajectory of the Slingers will help hold the ball straighter but not too sure about yardage gaps.
  17. How tall or you? Might be a silly question, but it makes a difference. I'm 6'2" and have an extra inch on my irons, so 45.75" for my shaft is perfect for me. That being said, the average male would probably be best served with the 44.5" shaft. Aside: My driver is a "players driver," which means that at it's 1.25" long stock shaft is actually shorter than average off the shelf. TM is selling 46.5" shafts in the Superfast! Wow.
  18. No love for Nike and Titleist. Kind of surprising to me, especially with the amount of lower HCs around here gaming the Titleists.
  19. I'm not a good golfer but I have a suggestion. Make sure the face of the club is on plane during the takeaway, and don't flip your wrists. But hard to tell without a video. From what you describe, the club face is wide open, you are coming slightly over the top, making you hit across the ball. But remember, without video, these are just my guesses.
  20. The bolded statements kind of contradict each other, as coming across at the top is a swing path problem, but my suggestions based on what I know about the golf swing (and not how I execute!) is that a wide open club face that makes you feel like you have to turn your wrists means you didn't start down with your hands early enough. So two things you might want to consider working on: 1) Feel like on the take away the club comes straight back down the target line. In reality, you won't actually do this, but it should help with what iacas has a nice thread about : keeping the clubface square to plane. If you take it like that on up to the top, you are halfway there. The next thing then is to get your hands through impact before the club face. The key thought/feel for this is keeping your left hand just inside your left hip in the downswing, and no flipping! If your hands come through at the correct time, and your club face is square to the target (not toe pointed straight up, again see iacas' thread), you should be able to get the whole idea of shutting the face or turning over or whatever out of your mind and hit straight shots. Good luck, and post some vids.
  21. I'd replace your grips for sure. They are inexpensive and make a big difference.
  22. New videos today, tried to work on the reverse pivot a bit. I think I've improved a bit.
  23. The best thing to do is go to your pro and get him to point out your reverse pivot. With a proper weight shift, extending the arms through impact and getting rid of the chicken wing is cake.
  24. What would you guys tell a hacker that tries to slap the ball as hard as he can from the top of the backswing? More specifically, what movements need to change to go from slapping at the ball to swinging through it in a controlled, powerful manner?
  25. I think the head thing is from an all arms swing. I was focusing on starting the downswing with the hips when I was hitting shots today. I think it looks like I am just trying to hit the ball from the top as hard as I can. What do you guys think?
