  4. Hello fellow golfers! Here is my predicament; within seven days and on the same course: Tuesday: Scored 88 (thanks to consistent iron shots, but OB driver) Friday: Scored 84 (best score ever; great iron game and improved putting) Monday: Complete disaster, and I stopped counting at 110. - could not hit a single iron shot (iron is usually my strength) - either hit thin or fat shots that barely made it a few feet - I even hit the SW so badly that it directed the ball sideways and hit the cart It could be that I was overthinking after I hit my best ever score? Maybe I put myself under pressure to score even better than in the last game? I tried several adjustments, however it only got worse. Side Note: I was on vacation last week and was not looking forward to being back at work on Monday. I felt a bit stiff from the Friday game and did not sleep enough from Sunday to Monday. Has this ever happened to you, and what did you do? Did you take a week off from golf or did you review your swing (video)? Thank you, Nave

  9. Same at my course. When I asked the course owner, they told me that sand bunkers are supposed to be a "fair hazard and consistent equal to the rough or even the fairway". E.g. a fairway should not suddenly become stone hard. After it rains I avoid ruining my club by hitting hardened sand and I drop the ball next to the bunker. Although I am considering getting a second beater SW club for those days.
  10. UPDATE: 1. They never sent the promised pack of golf balls (supply shortage issues) 2. Instead they provided a coupon code for Taylormade which forces you to spend a minimum amount there 3. Their "hot deals" in my area are 30% more expensive than my local resident rate I basically lost money by signing up with them. I won't renew my membership. @Yossarian I agree with you about the "convenience fee" - it is pretty inconvenient actually.
  11. Welcome back to TST, welcome back to golf and congratulations for your 50th.

  14. Thank you @dzclarkcpa It is so I don't delete this in case some people decide to communicate here. Mostly the users write in the general forum anyway. Either way, I appreciate it. Wishing you all lots of fun golfing in DFW.

  22. Good call, and the raise is justified.
  23. Here is a comparison from skiing, a sport which heavily relies on legs. Hermann Maier, who was an Austrian Olympic skier: - August 2001: Crushed right leg in a motorcycle accident - Doctors recommended amputation or a risky complete reconstructive surgery and years of rehab with uncertain results - January 2003: Returned to the sport and won several championships at the elite level Hermann Maier was called The Herminator after his return. Every injury is different and every physique and mental capability is different. Tiger will be back; he wouldn't want to end his career like that and probably wants that ultimate comeback trophy. Just my two cents.
  24. Thank you all for the amazing responses. Hey @Darkfrog today I actually tried the mental concept for uphill/downhill putts after reading your post - thank you, that helped and gave me something to focus on! Until now I was just putting without any strategy. The comments here have become so valuable, that I will come back to them regularly as I practice. Sadly no typo. With around 4-5 foot putts I have a disastrous distance control. I putt either way too weak/strong and it gets further away or rolls in a different direction, then I need another two putts to get back. If I hit it close then I often miss the second putt by a hair and end up with an unfortunate third. That is going to change - partly thanks to you and all the other comments here!
  25. * I mean my first birdie.
