There are plenty sites in Europe that dont have crap weather this time of the year to choose from.

I'm guessing you either stepped on it and it was stuck to your shoe, or it was stuck to the bottom of your putter, then came off as you were getting lined up. With those little plastic marks, they can stick to stuff very easily when wet because they have so little weight to them.

With lots of wind - 450 yards is my longest. It was blowing 40+ mph straight downwind on a par 5.

I've carried one for years now and hated it until I got a Cleveland 588 to match my SW - now I like using it. One thing I cannot do though, its hit consistent full shots with it - I'm just much better off choking down on the SW than trying to make a full swing with the 60. This makes it very much just a specialty club for me that I only use within about 30 yds of the pin and only when necessary.

I sure hope this is because of her wrist. At least it will eventually heal. But if this is a mental thing, she may be done like David Duval.

Anna Rawson, hands down.

I tried to buy my daughter the same set about a month ago, but she liked the Callaway X Junior Set better: http://shop.callawaygolf.com/Junior_...unior_Set.html The Callaway's are about 1/2 inch longer, and the driver is quite a bit larger (360cc vs 325cc for the Ping). Both are really good sets though.

Perfect, reliable contact on shortgame shots
schlyer replied to Sharkgolf's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
I'd say the key to not chunking it is to keep accelerating thru the ball. I've seen way too many people set up for a tough pitch like this, swing back then kinda change their mind on the way down. -
Shot 40 today playing with my daughter. First time out this year and I could not get onto my left side until about the 6th hole.

How do I show people that golf on TV is Compelling?
schlyer replied to leapbean's topic in The Grill Room
Show Tiger chasing down and pointing his putt into the hole in the playoff against Bob May at the PGA a few years back. -
One other quirk to think about (can't tell if its a cause or an effect from just this angle though) - is that it looks like your left knee is moving straight out and your left heel picking up off the ground when the club is only halfway back. This is part of the reverse pivot mentioned above - but it may be something you can mentally key on avoiding to get your weight shifting more to the right side.

The SW will likely move a few points, you can get an idea of how much by playing with different values in this Excel based swingweight calculator: http://myostrichgolf.com/resources/swing.xls

Realistically, the course ratings don't factor in alot of stuff that can affect an individual player. For example, 2 courses may have the exact same number of hazards, the one a guy plays all the time are 75% on the right side of the fairways, and the tournament course has them located 90% on the left side of the fairways. If this guy's misses are regularly to the right, he'll end up in alot more hazards at his home course (resulting in a higher handicap) than during the tourney. Wind can be another factor that isn't taken into account by slope - playing on a protected course regularly then getting a tourney on a more exposed course with the wind blowing. I obviously don't know whether these folks are sandbagging or not, but I don't find it odd when a 10 handicap shoots anything between Even Par and 100.

Very cool. You'll have to post some pictures after it gets back.

Does anybody have suggestions for the best ball(s) for young junior golfers? My daughter is almost 10, hits her driver about 200 yards and is wanting to play in some tournaments this summer. I'd like to give her the ball that fits best for her rather than just my leftovers. My guess is that low compression balls like the Noodle or the Mojo would be best, but thought I'd see if anybody had found a ball that worked best for their kid.
-
Probably not luck - but it may be. I know guys that are mid single digits on their home course with very few bunkers or water, that can't break 90 when they show up to a course that has lots of hazards. I assume it'd work the other way around too - someone used to having 2 or 3 doubles per round because of water all of the sudden doesn't have to deal with it in a tournament and goes low.

Assuming the shaft is graphite, I'm with Gas_Can - just get a drill bit the same size as the internal measurement of your hosel and ream it out. I did this a couple of years ago with a Taylor Made Burner 3-wood where the shaft literally tore as I was trying to remove it. If its steel - either go for the Golfsmith tool or let a professional handle it.
-
You could always just move to a lighter shaft in your driver - that would speed you up with no pesky exercise necessary.

Having your hands behind the ball at address isn't ideal, but it isn't a killer either. As long as you don't actually come into impact with your hands behind (except the driver), you'll be OK. Starting them behind the ball at address just mean you have that much farther to move to get them ahead for impact.

Master Teeing Off With an Iron Thread
schlyer replied to GlobeGuy's topic in Instruction and Playing Tips
With short irons, I bury the tee far enough so that the bottom of the ball is just off the turf (not off the grass, that can be too high). I think of this as trying to replicate a perfect lie in the fairway With long irons, I tend to set the tee so that the bottom of the ball is just above the grass (assuming a tight teebox). -
That was in the PGA Championship back when Sergio was 19 (I think). He had birdied a par 3 while Tiger was standing back on the tee and he pumped his fist at him. Like you said though, Tiger still won - and Sergio has never come that close again.
-
You are going to be waiting a long while for the "one" that will challenge Tiger. He's arguably the best player ever, it isn't reasonable to expect that he's going to have a serious challenger. And especially from these 2nd tier guys - they only get in contention a couple times per year, they have no idea how to close the deal.
-
Just a little public course. Only 1 pic on the website currently for some reason (they used to have every hole pictured) http://www.cheneyks.org/cherryoaks.html

Adding the leg action/weight shift will make a huge difference. You need to finish with 90+% of your weight on your left foot in your follow thru.
