  1. I heard several comments like this recently. They were refering to guys (Ricky Fowler and Tim Clark) laying up on par 5's trying to be conservative and save position (and money of course) when they should have gone for it and a chance to win a tournament. Phil would go for it, he always does.
  2. The other guy. McCarron.
  3. Not you guys here, I'm refering to all the so called pros and announcers that are down on him. Especially that one guy, that I can't even remember his name - which tournament did he win? Oh thats right, it's the groove rule, or was it the long putter rule, that's why he hasn't won 37 times.
  4. Why all of "those people" are trashing Phil is beyond me. The club is legal for everyone, not just Phil. And he has not tried to deceive anyone with anything he has done (unlike others - TW) All these people really have to cry about is the fact that someone is better than them and they don't have the game to fix that. Boo! Hoo! - Phil just hand them a cry towel and pacifier so they will hush. Pampers are on sale at Walmart if necessary.
  5. I have the same issues. I am a maroon dot Ping, which is 4.5* upright. Now in time my swing has flattened a good bit and they should be adjusted to probably around 2*. Anyway, back to your post. I think the Bobby Jones clubs have a rounded sole for the reason you describe. I am looking to add a 3W, and a 3 and 4 hybrid to my new bag I'm making up. I have really considered them for that reason (easier to hit on a steeper swing plane). Just a thought, I haven't heard any negatives on the clubs. As for the lie angles, I haven't compared them to standard. I've just been comparing different clubs to my Pings which are a degree or two different from standard on the hybrids.
  6. I hope he's not trying to emulate a Daly.
  7. The Method putters do have a unique fee l. I tried one, several times (on different trips), and really liked it. Made me want to drop the Visa and run to the course. Then reality set in and I left it for another trip. Congrats on your new putter, they are very nice. "In golf anything is possible." - Someone famous said it, can't remember who.... Now the question is, will he play those Victory forged irons? Then he could be Nike Man (the golfer formerly known as Titleist Man)
  8. With all the "staging" of statements and events now being relative to reality shows, it's hard to believe much of anything you hear or see. Was this emotional overdrive in the heat of a moment, or was it an act with a written stament provided by the writers at the "Great and Grand" Golf Channel just to boost intrest in the upcoming show? Well, you have to wonder.......
  9. Right now the SG5 is the top line product, but a new model is supposed to be released in March. It is supposed to function similarly to the Upro with the photo-like screens, of course with all of Skycaddie's other features.
  10. I recently picked up a 9/10 set of MP32 Mizunos for less than $200. Beautiful clubs, they had one tiny (I mean little bitty) stone mark on the PW and a little of the paint fill has chipped out of the ID digit on the sole of the 9i. Grips are perfect, grooves are sharp, and the metal is shiny. Got a Adams Speedline 8.5* 9032ls driver and (2) CG14 wedges to complement the set. I'm also trying a Ping center shaft putter to help stop pushing those putts to the outside. Added a new bag for these sticks too. It's a Bagboy Revolver Pro. I love toys.
  11. My #2 Hyb. has a 17* loft compared to most #3 hybrids that have 19* - 21*. (ex. Taylomades are 19* - Pings are 21*) So your 19* hyb.(should be marked #3H) would be closer to the 7W and the 17*hyb. (#2H) would compare to a 5W. Remember a standard 3W is 15* or #1 Hyb.
  12. It's terrible! Especially hard as he has been trying to get his life in order, and learning to play competetive golf again. I agree with the earlier poster, very similar to the story of "Job".

    rc cars

Expensive!! You're not kidding. I ran 1/10th scale mod. oval, 4 cell oval, and 1/4 scale gas oval for about 5yrs back in the late 90's, and I can tell you for a fact, that it is much cheaper to run a regular car at the local track each week than RC's. I ran a sportsman car on half of the budget I had for running rc's. I did travel a bit with the rc racing, but cost was rediculous. As with ay other racing you just have to keep spending to keep up, and just spend a little more to go a little faster. Golf is by far much cheaper. All that said, it was a blast. The guys I traveled with were some of the greatest people you could ever meet. You always had a good time at the races as well when you went out to party a little afterwards. Like anything, It's ok in moderation!! Have fun and Live Life!!
  14. I've seen a lot of them bent (and broke), and once you get past 3* of bend then they start getting iffy, especially with the harder metal cast clubs.
  15. Have you tried the G10? Ive hit the i15 and length doesnt seem to be much different. The G-10 is easier to hit straight (to me). I'm going to say because of the weigting in the club itself. Both of the clubs are good drivers, it would just depend on your preference in feel and control.
  16. I picked up a 2h just to give it a try as an option to a 5w. It really filled that spot well, plus I can sweep a ball out of longer grass with it (something I can't do with the 5w). I'm playing a 2h 3h and 4h now with Driver/3w, this combination sees to work well right now(during the winter). I will be able to give a difinitive answer about it when the grass greens up and thickens in the spring.
  17. i'm not familiar with that particular cart, though I can say that the Bagboy automatic and Clicgear 2.0 are hard to beat.
  18. Buy the X-6 for yourself and forward the sunmountain to the wife. Then everyones happy.
  19. Man ZeusKOTG, don't crush my hopes like that. I will be watching for the thunderous crash when Indy takes their first snap. It will feel like turn 4 at Daytona with 1 lap to go. Manning will go down!
  20. I don't really care who wins as long as somebody plasters that wimp Manning's little crybaby arse all over the backfield. I'm sick of his whining and crying about someone putting a hit on him. Damn, be a man Peyton and play ball! GO Saints - Jets - Vikings!!!
  21. Im glad someone other than me noticed that.
  22. Launch angle is not so bad for that club, but that is still too much spin to get good yardage. Also seems a little low on trajectory. What kind of distances are you actually hitting. You have to get your swing consistent to be able to judge your equipment. As for SS and shafts, I believe anything over 95mph should be in a stiff shaft (read that somewhere), so you should be hitting a reg flex. At your current HI, I would probably work on grooving a good swing before spending a lot of cash on changing equipment. Lessons are the best golf dollars you could spend as a high handicapper. You would be suprised how fast you can get to that 95 mph mark with a few lessons pointing the way. JMHO tho. Good luck.
  23. It will still be nasty. But the balls will check. -----Or Plug!
  24. You do have to admit, it is a pretty shot looking at it from the tee box though.
