Please recommend a low trajectory ball for 90 mph driver speed. The reason that I want a low trajectory ball is that I break my left wrist at impact (flipping) and as a result my ball trajectory is very high. I am hoping that a low trajectory ball will give me some extra distance. In addition there are a few other requirements: 1. Under $25 2. Soft 3. Less spin for driver accuracy I have been playing with the Srixon AD333 but thought there might be better balls out there. Thanks,

Number 9, 666 , what a beast. Now Dustin Johnson will have to go for the green with his third.

Tie the remote to a weighted club, just an idea. They should make a special club for this.

Data updated, with more data, I was expecting the coefficient of determination to get larger. In short, If R2 = 0, then there is no correlation between Driver Distance and Index and R2 = 1 indicates that Driver Distance perfectly predicts index. However, as you can see, R2 was larger initially but as of now is only at 0.26 which is low. So there is a relationship, but a weak one. Certainly this study is not scienctific. A better study would be index from 10 rounds and average drives from hitting 20 balls at the range. BTW, Average Driver Distance is 249 and Average Index is 11.2

My handicap is 14 and I played shorecliffs twice, shot 105+ both times. Horrible. -

I always have had problem with hitting behind the ball. I have taken two series of 6 lessons in the past and those lessons fixed my problem for a while but it always came back. My main problems is on the backswing the hands moving back, up and in instead of extending the club straight back away from the ball as in the traditional swing. In addition, I tend to have problem tranferring my weight back during the down swing. These combination resulted in thin and fat shots. The threads about the stack and tilt swing on this forum got me interested. After some reading, watching youtube videos and watching videos of my own swing I was convinced that the stack and tilt swing is more natural for me. I bought the official stack and tilt book from Amazon and has been experimenting with this swing in the last three weeks. I hit the ball very crisp now. On Saturday, I hit 180 balls at the range and none was fat. I also gained about 5 yards on average. I went to Torrey Pines North late Sunday to test my new swing on the course for the first time and again I didn't have any fat shot (normally around 3 or 4 fat or thin shots in a round). I hit 9 greens and shot 88. My score would have been better if I could putt, I had 6 three putts (2 misses within 2 feet). I have been focused on my full swing and neglected my putting practice. I am a natural one planer with weight transfer problem so this stack and tilt swing works for me. I can't guarantee that it will work for you but if you are having problem with the traditional swing, why not give it a try?

I need a 200 yard club, please recommend

I received the 17º Nickent 4DX Ironwood and hit with it at the range a few times. My average distance with this club is around 190-195 y, not quite the 200 y I was looking for but close enough. I don't hook with this club like I usually do with my 5W. It is much easier to hit than the 3i. I am thinking about getting the 19º to replace my 3i. -
Worst golf course in solar system

Shorecliffs in Orange County. I always score 35 to 40 strokes over on this course. The fairways are narrow with trouble left and right. There is a par 4 where you have to hit a 7 iron off the tee box and then a 3 W to the green. I hit some nice drives and later found out that they were OB. If you don't hit it dead straight, you won't enjoy this course. I probably will never come back. -
Feel 'nothing' when hit sweet spot with blades
khale replied to khale's topic in Clubs, Grips, Shafts, Fitting
I am not good enough to be consistent with these MP-58 irons yet evident by the shanks and I probably won't use them on the course any time soon. However, I was getting complacent for the last 4 years with no improvement with ball striking. Before buying these clubs, I thought that I need to get blades to force myself to improve my ball striking. I have a tendency to hit nearer to the hosel, and with my bigger face cavity irons, it is not a big deal and I rarely shank. However, with the smaller club faces of the MP-58, I shanked 6 or 7 times today at the range so I know I need to make some change. I found out that if I swing the club with the lower body more (sliding the hip forward), the contact will be closer to the sweet spot. -
Feel 'nothing' when hit sweet spot with blades

I started golf with cavity irons for 9 years. I just got a set of MP-58 irons (near blade?) and tested them out today. Although I was not very consistent and shanked a several times. I hit a a few balls at the sweet spots and felt like I swung through air and the ball travels 5 or 10 yards longer than my average shots. I actually didn't feel like I hit the ball. I have never felt like this with my cavity irons before. Is this the 'feel' people are talking about with blade or near blade irons? Thanks, -
Mizuno irons are the best. I have tried both Titleist and Mizuno irons and Mizuno are just better. I am playing the MX-20 irons and they are very forgiving. I just bought a set of MP-58 and they are very sweet to hit.

I adjusted the lie of my 7 yr old clubs about three weeks ago at GolfSmith. The cost is $4.99 per club. They will have you hit a ball on a lie board and then determine how much adjustment is needed. I am also 5'7" and they adjusted 3* flat for PW-8 and 2* flat for 7-5 and no adjustment for 4-3. My clubs are forged, they are easy to bend. Hope your clubs are forged to.

I have the same problem for the last 8 years. Now I am determined to get rid of it. At the range, I try to to hit the rubber tee with slow motion while maintaining the angle between the club and my left arm until the point of impact. Basically driving forward with the hip and turning the hip. Sometimes I do the slow motion swing twice for every full speed swing. This suppose to build muscle memory into your body of the correct swing. It seems to help a little bit. At home I also hit the impact bag.

I am looking for something like KJ Choi is using but under $100. My putting is bad and it keeps me from scoring well. Last round, I hit 9 greens but had 40 putts for a 91. I missed all 5 birdie putts within 6 feets. I need to experiment with some other method of putting and Side Saddle Putting seems interesting. I have found a few side saddle puttere online but they are either ugly or over $200. Please give me some recommendation.

Exactly, I bought the Nickent 4DX Ironwood at 17º from ebay earlier. -
South Course is a must. Play from the White tees and try to break 100. Pull out some 2008 US Open video and watch before going.

I have tried the last 3 years but just don't like to hit the 5 wood b/c of the snap hook problem that I can't get rid of. I hit other clubs much better. This is also an opportunity to try a hybrid for the first time. -

Thank you for your recommendation. Redsox98 got me looking into the 3DX, 4DX, and 5DX Nickent woods and ironwoods. I found out that these clubs are very popular even with the Pros. I have decided to go with the Nickent 4DX Ironwood at 17º. My 3W is 13.5º and my 3i is 20º so I decided to go with a 17º club which is right in between my 3W and 3i like glbrum suggested. From my research, the 4DX tends not to hook like many hybrids which is good for me. Another reason that I selected this is because of the low price. I got it new from ebay for $40 plus $9.99 shipping. If I can't hit it I can always put it on Craigslist for $35. I will let you guys know it turns out. I will get the club early next week. -
Cleveland Hi-bore Monster Driver ~ 240 yards Mizuno 3W ~ 215 yards Mizuno MX-20 3i ~ 185 yards Current I hit my 5W (Mizuno) about 190 yards but I tend to snap hook it or push it most of the time. Not sure why but I hit my 3W better. I am thinking that I need a 3 hybrid. Could you please recommend me an easy to hit hybrid that will give me about 200 yards (judging from the 3i and 3W distances). I have never hit a hybrid club before. I tend to hit long irons better than woods. Thanks,

Your comment about equipment is so wrong. Jack's equipment were inferior but so were those of his opponents. Many people long for the good old days. They would argue Jack or Arnold were better than Tiger and Phil and that Magic Johnson, Larry Bird are superior to Lebron and Kobe. Usually, the longing for the 'good old day' involve sports that performance can't be measured objectively. For all the sports that can be timed or measured, current athletes are much better. You don't hear people arguing that past long jumpers, runners, swimmers are better than current ones. The reason is that current jumpers, runners, and swimmers are clearly much better and have the numbers to prove it. You don't hear people arguing the Jesse Owens was better than Usain Bolt. And I would argue that current golfers are better too. The reason that current atheletes are better is because of better training and more competition. Scientific based trainings, In every sports, the use of technologies and scientific studies in training have improved performance. More competition, During Jack and Arnold time, how many people in the world played golf? 10 to 20 million? The current number of golfers in the world is probably about 60 million. So Jack had to be better than 15 million golfers, but Tiger has to be better than 60 million golfers. Statistically speaking, it is much tougher.
